So does anyone here think the devs might, eventually, make Shadow Strike an available skill for Shepard? Whether through some patch for ME2 or as a skill in ME3 I'd really like to see this implemented. I ask this because it seems like, with Kasumi, they were testing out the effectiveness of this skill to see whether or not the want to incorporate it into ME3.

I'd like to see Shep's tactical cloak last as long as Kasumi's! =p

An active ability with almost no cooldown, CCs a target, forces other enemies to retarget, AND does huge damage?
It'd make even more abilities obsolete if Shepard could take it.

I think it would be cool but I'm not sure that it would work very well with a player controlled character. tleleporting across the map and back would be disorienting and if you mean more walking over to them tactical cloak+melee is basically the same thing is it not?

It's called Tactical Cloak + close-range Widow.

Considering the Widow has no close range damage bonus, there's not much practical point in that.

Now, cloak + point blank shotgun. That's your Shadow Strike, even more devastating than the Widow. Unless you miss, in which case you're in a lot of trouble.

If you only could pick up the shotgun and the Widow at the same time as Infilitrator. That would be :o

I think Shadow Strike would be good for Shep if you take out the retreating aspect of it. A cloaked melee attack similar to Charge would be interesting, but I don't think it'd be feasible to have it so that you recloak after you attack.

I had this thought earlier and hoped it meant they might be giving it to Shepard sometime in the future in some way, most likely in ME3 if they do. Would be nice... =]

Personally I would love to see a class devoted to a melee fighting style; it would play much like the vanguard in the sense it gets up close and personal, but would use nothing but melee style powers such as shadow strike and defensive/+supportive style powers on the battlefield (to stay alive in close combat; or in shadow strike style, teleport back to where you were/etc).

Obviously critics to this would point out parts of the game such as the terminator at endgame, but those are rare and we can always use a heavy weapon and/or rely on squad mates (or perhaps some power that would hit said types of enemies, such as incinerate/etc).

Maybe even a medic/supportive like class? (eg. Squad shield buffs and more medi-gel uses/kills enemies with a futuristic defibrillator in close/short-range combat/etc).

These suggestions probably need their own thread though... /shrug lol ^_^

Actually you could techinally get away with it if they allowed to have two-three guns + heavy weapons. Which in all honestly, they probably will.

Yeah, I guess no one would play the Vanguard if you could choose to be an Infiltrator with a slightly different version of Charge along with the regular Tactical Cloak. I do really like the concept of the ability and I'm just jealous of Kasumi but I understand the problems involved with a player using it.

There's probably a way of balancing it so we could have a thief class with Shadow Strike. It might have to be a bit more squishy than Vanguard.

The devs could easily differentiate Charge and Shadow Strike enough to make both abilities unique for Shepard. Shadow Strike should (and does) do more damage than Charge but the cooldown should be longer. Shadow Strike shouldn't (and doesn't) restore shields like charge does but should offer a short time period in which Shepard is cloaked, allowing you to find safe cover. The only real problem with giving Shadow Strike to Shepard as it works right now is figuring out whether or not it should function as a teleport kind of move (like Charge) or if  Shadow Strike should give you a set amount of time, once cloaked, to find an enemy and strike them. I like the latter option better as it will really make you have to think before you use it or you may end up uncloaked in a crowd of enemies.

You know, I'm sure that this is actually possible in the PC version of the game after a little bit of creative "tinkering". Granted, because it's an ability designed for an NPC character and an NPC alone it might be somewhat buggy with actual implementation. Then there's the issue of how the teleport to the target and the "snap back" would work with a player character.

*sighs* You see, it's stuff like this that make me want to pick up a second copy of ME2 for the PC. Well, stuff like this and every time I see a picture of The Angry One's FemShep. She gives me serious hair envy...
