You've had myriad reports about this bug, Bioware. For nearly half a year now. And we know what causes the bug - a merchant having too many items in their inventory (548 items to be exact). This also applies to the storage chest in Soldier's Peak.
You know the problem, I think it's probably time for an update from you guys. You've got a lot of disgruntled customers who are being punished for playing YOUR game.
"Corrupted Save File" - time for a fix.

its just another thread on the pile... they dont care, they have other things for us to spend our money on now, like tiny DLC, and buggy expansions.

Is that what the problem is? Thanks for the info. I kept getting corrupted data and nearly lost the character altogether. It seemed to happen after the forest questline was finished so I thought the game was damaged, even though it didn't look damaged in the least and I had gotten past that point on a previous game. It seemed that if I went to camp and saved it after the problem occured. I guess I triggered it because I sell almost all extra inventory at camp. Best way to reobtain an item if necessary. Anyway, thanks for clearing that up for me.

It would go something like:
If [merchant inventory] >= 547 then display "Sorry, my inventory is full."
There, programming done! My consulting fee is $9,000, cheque can be made payable to me.

the only time i have ever gotten the corrupt save/damaged file is when i take the gemstones from the tavern lady at redcliffe town,
other than that i have never had an issue with it..

That shows the root of the problem, JDOGG. Taking the "free" gemstones from the lady at the tavern produces heaps upon heaps of items - each gemstone is counted as an individual, unstackable item. Sell them all to a single vendor, you'll overload his inventory, and the bug makes itself evident.
