Also, I have a problem playing as a female in a video game, especially ME. Not because I'm sexist, but because I see myself in whatever character I'm playing, and to see myself as a woman is.....uncomfortable...? I had no problems playing Kameo though, so maybe it's just ME.

I don't like Hale's voicework. I'm not saying Meer's is far superior, but imo it's better than Hale's.

is it because cameo forces you to play as female though?

Probably, with Kameo there was no choice and it's much less personal then ME.

It's not that I hated Meer's voice acting (in ME2 at least) - what little I got to hear of it - but it just wasn't Shepard.
I imagine I might have had the opposite preference if I had originally played through ME1 with MaleShep - although given that I was a big fan of Jennifer Hale long before ME1, perhaps not.

Hale does a better "civilian leader", and Meer's a better military leader.
The difference is Hale's dialgue is generally an attempt to show that she is in charge, she has the good idea, she is the head honcho. She is trying to SHOW it. Meer's is more like someone who thinks he already has charge off the situation and has everyone's respect as a leader. So Hale's would probably be more iftting in ME1, Meer's more in ME2. You are John f. Sheppard, after all, savior of the universe.

I don't know what to say, playing through a male shep either in ME1 or ME2 makes me cringe so much that i cannot complete an ME2 playthrough with a male shep, i had to quit halfway and replay with a femshep which seems so much more natural as malesheps voice gets so monotoned and it tends to spoil the immersion(playing with DLC armor makes this worse).

I find Meer deliver's a better paragon experience. He delivers those softy lines very well imo. I love Hale's voice because she sounds like a hardass and delivers the renegade lines best. subsequently a large majority of my paragons are male and my renegades are fem.

After a few short attempts in both ME1 and 2, I just decided not to bother anymore and accept that Shepard is a woman.

Same here. I tried, both in ME1 as well as in ME2, but I just couldn't... For me, Shepard is female.

Though I don't mind Meer at all, Hale is the superior VA imo.

I think both are fine. and i play with both equally. Though my fav soldier is Fem Shep.. i do not prefer one over the other.
Same here. I don't see anything wrong with either actor. And there are at least a dozen topics on this. Can we please DROP IT.

As much as I love Hale's Femshep, I would pay any amount of money to hear femshep lines in Bastila's voice. She is hands down my favorite Hale character.
It's been so long since I played KotOR that I could barely remember Hale's voice acting in that game. The first YouTube video I came across turned out to be pretty funny
