What bioware did there is just trying to cut into the second hand market..

In theory Second hand retailers will need to drop the price by more than 15$ so that the game you purchased second hand +CN network at 15$ will cost less than a new game. If it doesnt then well people will just buy the game brand new.

Technically, no one will ever pay more than a brand new game.... Soooo...
In reality, second hand sales  will probably still save money..

So no he is not "****ing about something [he] got for free" he is "****ing" about something that "second had sales...save money [on]". I find it funny that you loved the above coment so much yet you you are still saying people who bought it new are getting it for free.......

I really don't think the stuff on CN now is worth the 15$ new or used nor do I think it ever will be but I really don't care either cause I got the CE edition for the PC for 10$ less the people who bought the 360 CE edition! Hahahahaha!!!

[highlighted] That is your opinion and you are entitled to it.

However, people who buy it new do get it for free. They are paying for a brand new game. So its worth a little more so to speak.

Let me give you an example. You buy a brand new car and you get +5 yr on road warranty Free.. cost $20k total.
You dont have that kind of cash, so you buy a second hand car (same model) for $10k and buy the 5 yr warranty for $4k total of $14k...

you still get the warranty free on your new car purchase as the car is worth more (new).

Its made up numbers, but im sure you get my point.

Because they delivered. Time frame is irrelevant.

That they could deliver at some point in the future does not mean that they have delivered. Once I have 1200 MS points worth of content sitting on my drive, I'll stop complaining about the Cerberus Network not being worth 1200 MS points. It's not a hard concept to grasp.

But I'm done. I've said my piece. If you all want to act like children, I have better things to do.

You're ****ing about something you got for free, and we're the children? I'll let you into a consumer secret. Product development is voted on by your wallet.

It's nice that you can apparently look into my financial records to see what I have and have not paid for. You don't know anything about me, so kindly refrain from acting like you do.

Whatever. I'm going to work. Peace.

OH SHIT! It's 71 days since release date of Mass Effect 2 and BioWare havent released free content worth 1200 BWpoints! THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! I will sue them!

Ehm, while I am quite satisfied with what has been delivered so far under the CN so far and hope for (but do not really expect, I'm 80% sure all further content will be paid DLC) more great free content in the future this argument is rather silly.

I'm pretty sure that if I were to suggest that I pay (say)  half the price of the Kasumi DLC now and perhaps pay the rest over the coming months while I play it, I would be laughed at. The buyer is supposed to deliver their part of the bargain in full NOW, while the seller gets to decide if and when they'll fill up the rest of their end of the bargain? Kinda one-sided isn't it? (then again, one-sided contracts favouring companies over customers are becoming the norm in most markets now)

The CN is still free for new buyers, of course, so it's hardly a massive issue, but the "we pay now, they deliver later" argument is unconvincing to me.

If they'd just made the CN for new buyers ONLY, it would work fine as a used buyer discouragement and that would be that. But by defining a monetary value for it people WILL assess the content delivered according to that value. Also, IIRC, the free-automatically-included CN offer will lapse in a few months. So for new buyers then it will be standard payed DLC and rightly asessed according to the given value.

Is the Cerberus Network worth 1200 points?

The way I see it I got a coupon (Because lets face it, that what it is) to get it free so in the end I don't really care if its 'worth' 1200 points. I didnt pay that. Not my problem.

Well what an interesting thread.. I've bought all the DLC or had it for free with CN and have been quite satisfied with it all. Maybe I'm a freak.........Posted Image
What I would like to see is some form of episodic content running upto ME 3.
Oh yeah Reinholder and Frostgun are full of win but guys/girls Posted Image never argue with idiots because they will drag you down to there level and beat you with experience..  Posted Image

In the MS Marketplace the Cerberus Network is 1200 MS points, if you bought the game new, go to mass effect 2 website enter the code, ignore the Ms cerberus d/l, they purposely made it expensive to "punish" anyone buying it used. Don't be surprised if you see more of this from EA and other game licensing companies, they want to eliminate the used game market, because they dont make anything off of buying used games.

I have no issues with the CN or similar "new purchase incentives" my issues are when you can only get like 4 install serials for your new game (Sacred 2) or your online purchase of games only recognizes your purchase for 1 year (EA Download Manager).

i see new Mass Effect 2 DLC was released, now being promised DLC with the 1200 point Cerberus network, I of course figured this would be a free download. NEWP. As it turns out, it's cool to go back on saying that Cerberus Network will have FREE DLC (yes, other than that bull**** Zaeed and piece of armor).

So can someone explain why the Cerberus network would be 1200 freaking points, if new content is going to ALSO cost money? Seems like a rip-off completely. (I did get the network with purchase, but it does cost 1200, so it is not really free despite a lot of people getting it that way)

Oh no! My free stuff ran out!!

Right...Or I just was at school and not continuously checking a video game forum...

After reading all the posts, if BioWare is TRUELY only charging such a crazy fee for CN because of the second hand thing, that does make sense. It is obviously a money grabbing attempt, but it's totally an understandable one.

If there is free DLC (as promised), then that would be awesome. I suppose I'm basing this off the bull**** that Mass Effect 1 DLC was. We were told that we'd be getting a line of DLC, not two one hour pieces of crap (no offense, but really, that DLC was crap). It's just not a good indication that the FIRST "real quality" ME2 DLC costs a high amount, I'm sure you guys can understand the worry that causes.

My point of view comes from someone that doesn't have the money to pay for every little thing comes out like this, in Canada, ME2 WAS 70 dollars storeprice (so whoever said it isn't, uhm...durp). I would love nothing more than the next DLC to come out be free, making me look like a terribly whiny crybaby ****, it's just based off what we've seen from ME1/2 DLC so far. They promised free DLC in the future, well, the trust with that kind of stuff is pretty broken.

Look i was joking.. about the baby face lol... lighten up.

second. Cerb network did release a LOT of free stuff... I know you may not like the quality but it does not change the fact that it was free.. As i said previously in terms of Quality of free/paid stuff, in the real world you indeed really get what you paid for (in general). Hence why 'usually' paid stuff are better. Not always though.

In the end, can i hazard a guess that you actually like this game? If you were to have money available and can purchase this DLC then this post would not exist?

If thats the case, the real issue is getting that money. no matter how i look at it i still dont think $7 is  a lot.. Im sure you can get that somehow if you put your mind to it.

Lol I can't believe you're crying over something like this. One reason if not the main and only, the reason the CNetwork is pricy is to try and make people buy newer copies instead of companies the reap all the profit over and over like gamestop. So buying new goes to BioWare/EA also.

So... STOP YOUR ****IN'!

Having to pay to a premium price in order to get the opportunity to pay for some other DLC is bullshxt. To have some game company do that is shameful and low. All so that they can try to get rid of the used game market. Hell no.

I quite liked the firewalker pack. In fact if they'd included more hovertank missions, I'd probably have quite happily bought it.

I agree, for free DLC, it's quite something.
