See...myspace, facebook, twitter..all prerequisites to winning in this "contest". I have a twitter account..established a year ago, that I never use. I don't have a myspace, nor a facebook account. Basically those places don't appeal to me, and from what I've read and heard, are places of over the top drama, for drama's sake.



If I wanted to participate in that..I'd watch the Jerry Springer show.

Actually you don't need myspace or facebook. I got over 10000 tokens just from Twitter and being on this site.



So they are not prerequisites. Also I don't think you need twitter either to participate.

Why are people not understanding this?  You won so you have a marginally better view of this event than those who did not.  This is more basic psychology.

The referral links are the reason this event was a failure.  The whole point of the links were so that Bioware could get free advertising.  So what did people do?  They posted to other people who already own Bioware products.

Not to mention I saw you bidding the first day.  You had accumulated quite a pool of tokens before the event even started.  I digress, I'm not here to call you out.  If you care about the other fans, then truly listen to what we are saying.  If you don't want to help get our voice heard, then why post at all?

I don't care about effort or threads or any of that other bull****.  Why should I have to **** myself out with referral links to take part in an auction meant for loyal supporters of Bioware products?  Are you not listening?  Is this a hard concept to understand?  I'm not arguing the fact that some people "worked harder".  I'm arguing that this was for fans and supporters but not all fans and supporters got to participate.

Did you think you would get something for nothing? Come on.  This is an adult version of a school fundraiser, only we are selling a bioware link and not chocolate. 

That's fine and dandy.  But don't sh!t into a bowl and tell us it's chocolate ice cream.  If this for cheap advertising, just say it.  Don't lie to us and tell us that this is for the fans.  People still would have done the link referrals in that instance.  More people would have chosen not to take part for that simple reason and not feel jipped.

I don't think it needs saying.  It's obvious.  I have NEVER seen a giveaway that wasn't about cheap advertising.

Haha! Possibly! On a more serious note though, I mean such as some of the Alienware or Sapphire contests, or any of the lots you see when you go shopping. Though there's nothing wrong with having fans help promote their games, I mean everyone's a fan of them anyways.

I don't know abou Alienware or Sapphire.  But you do know those "giveaways" when shopping are.  They like to take your information and spam you with "offers"

Haven't seen a single one do that in the last few pages at least.  I and others pointed out your exaggerations, that's certainly true and I make no apologies for that.  In fact I've seen all agree with you to a point and the only response you seem to have is agree with me 100% or GTFO (exaggerated for effect, so if this isn't true feel free to call me on it).  Complain if you wish, just expect to be called out on falsehoods and as this is a public forums expect people to point out that well thought out, reasonable posts are more likely to get a positive response from Bioware than plain old (not totally unwarranted) spleen venting.

Well Chris stated they caught some of the perpetrators..and states also that (as far as they know) no cheaters won any of the top prizes.  

But I have a hunch there is more to this than meets the eye, far as methods used and such.   It probably means they can catch "cheaters" that do thing on EA or Bioware related sites, but anywhere else ..they aren't going to know that.  

I think that would be an impossible task..first off.    Just the same ..you know that some will do anything to win.

At any rate,  as I've said before...they need to go back to the drawing board and come up with a better plan. 

This time include their loyal fans..all of them.   And make it an even playing ground, everyone starts the same out of the gate.

I am not a people person. There are people in this community who know that despite my very rarely being active here.



However, I am here to put some faith back into the community by saying I never would have won my auction without help. The people on the Facebook link exhange were very nice and happy to share in the excitement of the chance to win a Bioware prize. One guy even offered to give me his prize if he won because he saw how pumped up I was about it. I thought that was very generous. I find large groups like forums overwhelming because you don't really get a chance to know who you are speaking to with replies flying by in a hundred different threads, but that small sampling on the FB group were a nice bunch of peoples and I hope they won something too.
