I won an auction.  I don't have a following either.  I'm a hermit, but not antisocial (online and off). I only won a single twitter challenge. I never employed sketchy tactics.  I also didn't start trying to earn tokens until the day of the auction, yet I did win.  And I have reason to believe that I was one of many, not one of few.  Do I think this bazaar was perfect. No. But not a failure either

"It just means that those that were in the 48 states, will again be

So that should prevent us from participating again.

Well there's no way thats going to happen is there? LOL  Obviously you 48 staters were the chosen ones.   The rest of us riffraff have to sit here and watch the goings on........and take flak because we disagree with how this all came down.

Now we have all the contest winners coming into this thread and telling us..we should be happy ....and not criticize how this all went down?

Thats pretty comical.

Yeah I know all about that.....I've been here since before all that started.     It just means that those that were in the 48 states, will again be able to participate til the end of the year's celebrations.    It means the same people who employed "sketchy" tactics to gain large amounts of tokens..(if tokens are the main theme again..next time) will do so again.    Which means that the ordinary person, who doesn't have a large following, a popular blog,  or a website they own....will never ever be able to keep up with the top dogs..who know all the "tricks".

BioWare definitely really values all members of our world-wide
Community, no matter where you live.  Accordingly, in the coming weeks,
we will be announcing details about future events specifically for fans
living in those territories which were excluded from participating in
the first BioWare Bazaar.
The future events will be a bit different
from the first Bazaar in how they’re set up and structured
, but our goal
is to feature the same caliber of awesome prizes and great BioWare
collectibles.  We’ll announce more details in the coming weeks :)

(emphasis added)

Huh ... sounds like you're making a lot of baseless assumptions that are directly contradicted by Ray & Greg's announcement. The future events will be specifically for those excluded this time, and the events will be structured differently. Why not try waiting and seeing what actually happens before you assume what will, especially considering you have little information about what will actually happen, and the information that we do have seems to imply that the 48 states won't be included in the event, and clearly states it won't work the same as the Bazaar.

Not baseless...I am right about the 48 states..they will be in the next contest and the one after that and the one after that.

They got the headstart, they got the prizes, ...what else is there to know? :) With websites, blogs, facebook, myspace and twitter already charged and ready to go..they are set for anything that will happen in the future. hehe

Well played Bioware. :)

Lucy, i finished up with 14204, and the fact that you claim it is "shady" just shows how little you actually tried for this event.

I spent every day working on getting referrals, creating twitter responses, and making sure I took every chance I had to earn tokens to work toward a prize.

The fact that you didn't take similar initiative has nothing to do with me and everything to do with you.

Maybe you started late, maybe you didn't have a referral group of sorts set up, but don't get angry at those of us who took this seriously from the get go and tried our darndest to win.

It is unbecoming of you. I don't think the vast majority of the winners cheated, instead they worked hard to win something they wanted.

I'm sorry you didn't

One thing I will mention about cheaters is I know on the first PC auction (3rd auction total) a high bid was removed before the auction even ended. So within minutes of making a suspicious bid a person was investigated and removed from the contest before the bidding even ended. IIRC it was in a space of 5 minutes though don't quote me on that. I seriously doubt any cheaters got away with it. At the very least not in any number that would've actually affected the outcome.

Oh, my bad, totally put my foot in my mouth then. I didn't read it all and just assumed!

dont worry then Lucy, you will get your chance.

It is just that over the past week we have been bombarded by sour people who didnt try as hard and then complain that they cant win anything.

I hope the overseas auctions work out

I know that us img tag users all got our token counts nuked before the auctions even started. Even so I able to work my way back up thoguh legit clicks high enough to win a poster pack. Crixt even managed to win the custom X-Box, though he was a lucky bastard and got 7 twitter wins *squinty eye glare*

And I never once spammed my link out of context, nor do I use facebook or twitter (joined twitter for the challenges though, didn't win any), or any other social networking, I was able to get my clicks here, just posting and asking in threads where it was appropriate to do so. Never once did I put up my link without at least having added something to the thread.

If I had been focusing the entire time on attempting to get clicks (I really didn't start seriously trying till Tuesday when the auctions started, because up till then I wasn't sure if I was completely DQ'd or not), I'd have probably had enough to get one of the t-shirt packs that I was originally aiming for.

Right, you also have to consider that all the img tag users I've talked to (including myself) either deliberately or non-deliberately lost an extra 1000-2500 points on top of all the img clicks.

That's a 2-5 day advantage for the people that DIDN'T keep up with all the mid-contest politics (and why I didn't win a headset, oh well - I guess I should have had more faith in Bioware to properly moderate the contest and not have followed the herd ^_^)

If people on this forum had been less communal (not clicking other people's links) then I'd be more sympathetic to this. But everyone, in the end, had an opprotunity to win something if they got involved.

EXCEPT the 9 tenths of the world that were excluded....and I was one of the excluded, I STILL clicked links for people in the legimate link threads....part of the community spirit thing.

I DO have sympathy for that - and hope that future "celebrations" are global (and less competition focused). But that's not the focus of this thread, is it? This thread is focused on the "suspicious" amounts of tokens people had that WERE bidding.

It wouldn't help- Amurahkan is just different intonations of "wah" and "bawwww".

That would explain that strange sound I kept hearing coming from the north last time I visited my Aunt and Uncle up in Minnesota ...
