Chris just confirmed in another thread...new contest equals clean slate, those that can use their tokens now...he stated ..use them or lose them.

Did he suggest how? Since I don't twitter, facebook, myspace or do any other social networking, I'm left with the maximum base 5950 Bioware tokens for being an actual Bioware customer. So far these Bioware tokens haven't qualified me to bid on any of the 4 days worth of Bioware Bazaar auction items. Maybe he was refering to the social networking tokens?

Heh I am kind of in the same boat,  I am Canadian,  I have my base points, plus whatever I have managed to get by having my referral number in my signature bar.

I don't spam, matter of fact I REFUSE to spam...I don't have any outside sources to get clickies from...so I am pretty much the average ordinary person here.

One thing that makes me unusual is..I have been excluded from participating because of where I come from..or live.   Canada.

My reason for having a referral link ..is to at least feel like I have participated in my own way, and..as an experiment to see how much a person could gain..in a legitimate way without cheating, spamming..and having outside sources provide unlimited click opportunities.

Its my guess...that in order to participate,  that at the very least you need 10,000 tokens gained from the basics ..that you start out with...and people clicking your link, in order to have even a chance at the lower valued prizes.

The worst is yet to come....once THIS contest is over, and all the tokens are wiped clean.   The very same people who gained excessive tokens previously..will do it again.     So we are going to see massive spamming of referral links...for the whole year..or until the contests are done.

Lucky us. :)

He's been docking tokens for starting new link exchange/click-my-link threads, I'm sure those who are spamming threads will be getting theirs as well. Also I can assure you its been reported at least twice now ;)

Sorry I refuse to click your link Mr Spammer...use the official threads in Off-topic dedicated for the purpose of promoting your referral link.    Leave the regular threads alone.    We don't care about your referral link.   I personally NEVER bother clicking them.

Thats life in the fast lane.

**edit  Let me clarify...I DO click referral links in the "official threads" that are specifically referral link threads.   I DON'T click solo spammer links..in threads that are discussing something else entirely.

Why do you assume that the next event will the exactly the same as this?  I mean you must realize that the reason the contest was limited to the US was legal reasons. Chances are that means the way the Bazaar is set up isn't exactly legal in Canada, which would also imply that whatever contest they run for you guys will have a different set of rules.

Now whether that means no more referral links or not, I can't say, but I do doubt it will work exactly the same.

I wanted to voice my opinion.

BW should have let us known that if you don't have over 9000 you wont be bidding. Why didn't BW get the idea hey maybe we should have a bunch of smaller items like KEYCHAINS so everyone has a chance to join in.

BW you disappoint me.

I just can't wait for this garbage to be over with. This so-called community event as segregated the community beyond anything previously. I'm actually in the states and could participate but I won't lower myself to the level of this referral link BS. -50 DKP for BioWare and shame on you.

Sorry Lucy. People with thousands of tokens got involved. If you did not get as involved as they did, it is not their fault or ours.

I have thousands and I didn't get involved because I didn't have enough.

Thanks BW for creating a POS contest. Not everyone can spend every waking moment answering your challenges and staying up 24 hours a day to see every item just about hit 10K

Almost 7K tokens to be looked at. I wish I could use them to get a godly item like a number 2 pencil from BW.

Erm ... I believe I already listed my reasons why that isn't a great assumption :P

Anyhow, I think pretty much everyone agrees that the referral links sucked. So hopefully they will take note of that.

If people sat down and read the rules before they decided to participate, they would have seen that after Saturday all tokens are removed.

Because I, like thousands of other Bioware customers, mistakenly assumed we were part of the Bioware Community.

cynicalsaint1 wrote...

The auction was limited to the US because Bioware, an international software merchandizing company, was unaware of international merchandizing laws. It WAS advertised right up to and beyond countdown-0 as a Global event.

Even if they haven't read the rules its already been confirmed by Chris Priestly in another thread, that the status of the tokens is this:     Use them or lose them.

Its my assumption to make and I am sticking to it.   Whether you agree or not..isn't going to change my mind.   What WILL change my mind, is what actually is coming up next.  Whatever that might be.

If its just more tokenwhoring..I won't be participating......matter of fact..I might not participate anyways.

Bioware doesn't seem to get that..people will find ways to cheat...hehe, therefore they really need to create something that is going to be more fair and more inclusive and with less loopholes.

People really need to calm down, I was able pick up over 12,000 tokens by simply posting my referral link in all the related threads on this board and at couple other places. It isn't just the people spending 18 hours a day grabbing tokens who were able to contend for good prizes, I spent maybe 45 minutes maximum each day casually spreading my referral link around. Just because you didn't take the time to pick up referral points doesn't give you the right the blast the people who did.
