Wow this is like a thread on Infinity Ward's website. Sooooo full of hostility. But I wish that they would've posted the auction in their games. I didn't find out about it till it was too late. I only have 9k and I'll be lucky if I get anything. I would like this to happen again. But please include facebook into it and make it so like 200 people can win a challenge, I've been reading some of the things on twitter and some people are really dissapointed with how they went about doing this. It would be nice if they could put an actual limit on the number of referrals for each day because not everyone has the same resources like the 13k+ people.

Worst contest ever... and yes I realize I have the link in my sig. I certainly do not like it. For everyone who has been spamming their link everywhere I hope you get nailed with every pop-up and junk e-mail the internet has to offer.

I can't participate due to my region. May I complain now?

See, but if they did limit the referrals and even out the twitter wins so that everyone was on basically an even playing field, then everyone'd be ****ing about how it was only the fastest people who got stuff in auctions, or the people who stayed up the latest, had no lives, no school/work, etc. No matter what happened in the contest, there'd be complaints about =something= because not everyone's going to win.

Now you non-48 staters have something legit to complain about. I hope ya'll can like, reacquire the base points at least for reg'ing the games and stuff. Because that really sucks that it all gets wiped for you guys, too =\\\\

Actually having smaller prizes would solve everything. It gives us non 9+ thousand users to have a chance at winning something. The problem is you need to have 10K to have a real shot at bidding ANYTHING. So now were screwed.

If I have anything to complain about is the stupid auction reloading my page every 15 minutes with a new auction piece. Bioware didn't have the decency to create a filter for those of us that had no interest or could not participate, to disable that feature.

I am almost positive this will be locked, but I need to have my voice heard.

1. Some of the people that are bidding on this auction have 14k. That is incredibly suspicious.

2. It's quite obvious through a little investigating that people have multiple accounts on here for their tokens. It's quite obvious, if you have a lick of intelligence.

3. This auction was for the community; i.e, fans, friendly people... now all it is, is a horde of money grubbers wanting free crap. As soon as this gets advertised, a whole lot of people come over and suddenly register their game. Yeah, sure.

No, this isn't me having a go at BioWare, I love BioWare. Their intentions are always to make everyone happy, even if they go about it strangely sometimes. It's me appauled at how selfish, greedy and downright upsetting some people on this forum are. This is a place where gaming fans and BW fans alike come to discuss good quality narrative, production and fun things. This isn't a spam fest where you post your referral link even in serious, unrelated topics. You don't post your referral link in a topic where some forumer is talking about his sick relative.

I can't wait for this to be over, because I am goddamn sick of it. I've never felt such hostility toward anyone on this site before.

To all those people who are bound to post their referral links after pretending to read my post, I cannot wait for you to leave. Go, get out. You give our friendly and fun forum a bad name.

p.s, to those honest, friendly and polite people who are real fans of BioWare and enjoy this site. Who have either been on this site for a while or are newcomers with good intentions, I salute you for being able to have fun with the auction without wanting to go on a killing rampage. Good luck, and I hope you guys win more great things before it finishes.

now i can't help but agree with this, keep in mind, i registered ME2 the day i got it..but when the auctions came out, it reminded me that i could register my games on here, so i did. now, i've been here since ME2's release, and i have good intentions, yes i have been link spamming because i want free stuff, but don't get me wrong. i only have one account, i ask my friends and am posting on the "Auction Thread" and i did so on another website to help out people who have nobody click their link and dont have a chance in the auction.

the reason i did that is right now, i have only 6823. that's not even enough to get a starting bid in, i know i wont win anything, but it's nice to be able to try.

but yeah, i'll be glad when it's over.

It's funny because after the auction BW will make an announcement saying that the auction was such a successful turnout or some sh!t like that when it really wasn't.

The sad thing about contests like these, especially since the auctions were 24 hours a day, is the unfortunate lengths people have gone to to attempt to cash their tickets in on a limited amount of goods.

If everyone could turn in their points past a certain level at the end of the auction for like a hat or a book or something small like that, I think that would go a long way towards easing the tension on the forums and reducing the amount of SPAM! I would damn sure be happy with a Cerberus Cap, anyway.

To simply say "Sorry you weren't dedicated enough to get more involved and get more points" is pretty disheartening when a major source of the points came from "Judge Decisions" on Twitter Challenges. For many people their attempts to "get more involved" meant staying glued to their computers to try and win challenges and solicit clicks all day and night.

Actually it was quite a success, a huge success actually. Do you know how much Bioware saved on advertising with all that link spamming?

I have spent some more time thinking about this...
Ultimately the event is a success in my eyes. I have been on the fence on whether or not this event was really a good thing. but I was also sort of being snobbish about being a member of this community. I do think some people who participated are carpetbaggers and will vanish, but I also think some will stay and become active members. The community has grown because of the Bazaar. Bioware gave away 600k in gear which is great publicity. The referall links, while one of the most sore subjects of discussion, successfully promoted Bioware. And most importantly, members of the community really have won the great prizes that were promised.

I guess i've just reached the conclusion that in order for Bioware to be able to give away 600k in free swag the Bazaar had to generate hype and publicity for Bioware and sponsors. The more I focus on BW giving away 600k of swag the harder it is for me to hold a grudge about how they had to do it. So, Thank you Bioware for the Bazaar.

I think that is my biggest issue. They try to sell this as a "community event" (the dabacle of just who is actually included in that aside), when in reality it is a marketing scheme designed to use the community to do their advertising. If this were an actual community event, it would have been designed to include as many members as possible without forcing them to p!ssoff the entire "Internetz" with their link spamming. It is said a lot, but I am a very long time BW fan (back to original BG before TotSC). But since I refuse to spam my link everywhere and don't have any desire to have anything to do with Twitter (why a site that is 3/4 non-alphanumeric tags and cryptic words mixed into whatever you are trying to write about became popular I will never understand, it's just plain annoying to read) I am left with less than 6000 points and literally can't even participate beyond the role of spectator.

I'm not complaining that I am not winning. I'm talking about simply participating. They should have simply said "We are going to have an advertising event with the opportunity to win prizes for those who wish to participate (and live where it is legal)." Rather than try to sham us into believing that this is a community event.

TL;DR: This is all about spamming advertising and nothing to do with community.
