I have it happen every time I first arrive on the Normandy. Because I know there are messages there, I beeline for the Private Terminal and archive all of them. However, Kelly's dialog is scripted to have her say, 'Welcome aboard, Commander' during that first run. Because she never gets the chance to say that I have messages before I leave the ship, the game queues it for the next time I pass by her. That happens to be after getting back from the Citadel and doing some shopping before heading out on my first recruitment mission, so I get the line them.

Kelly is in fact a cyborg. Her kernel contains several bugs, one of which is the "new message but no message bug", it can be fixed by upgrading to a newer model. I thought everyone knew that.

IT is an little known fact that Kelly is infact an cyborg verison VI of Sheppard. O_o

I think she is a spying cyborg from TIM. If the right time comes, she will backstab Shepard. Furthermore, you cant't romance her and she is very interested in other species. Her job on the Normandy is only a cheap cover-up.

Kelly Chambers is maybe a spying FEMBOT from TIM. All actions have to be taken immediatly to ensure her true status and the safety of the Normandy Crew.

I also have it happen when I've read my new messages in my loft then go down to plot a new course, she must not have had enough time to figure out those messages aren't new anymore. >,<

On-topic: I've seen that error quite a few times as well. Happens when you check your messages first and then walk past her. Kinda sloppy design imo, but oh well. Not that bad of an issue.

yes she lies to me all the time...even if i haven't completed any mission at all and i'm just standing there...looking good and all, then boom "you have new messages commander" and i check and theres none...damn kelly i swear she'll be the death of me...

I haven't noticed this to be my problem with her, however she promised to feed my fish while I was away. When I got back, they were all dead. Thanks Kelly!
