heres what I think will happen;

Wrex+krogan are recruited to fight the reapers
Liara askes shepherd/team for help battling the shadow broker so she will then be recruitable
Legion will also convince the geth to join shepherd
Tali goes back to fleet to convince them to fight reapers in exchange geth give quarrians back there homeworld under strict conditions.

That is all well and good for some folk but for others...

Wrex is dead (either killed by Shep or just died because he was never recruited) and some shep's might not give a darn about the Krogan and would prefer to leave them on their dustbowl of a planet.

The only interaction some Shep's might have had with Liara in ME was for her just to say the magic word "Ilos" then either tell Shep where Thane and/or Samara is, or no encounter at all (possible now thanks to kasumi being added) and so whilst she can want to come to Shep asking for help, it don't matter if she gave Shep to Cerberus, Shep might not like her/want her in the team.

Legion could have been sent to Cerberus (or killed in the suicide mission) and so no interaction with him or the non-heretic geth.

Tali could've been left on Haestrom (or killed on the suicide mission), so will be interesting to see how Bioware were to get people to deal with the Quarian/Geth thing in this situation.

Not a hater of the characters (2 of my 8 sheps am taking into ME3 have Liara as a LI), just pointing out how all of those characters might not mean anything to every Shep.

The thing is, either they've all got to be POTENTIALLY recruitable or none of them will be. If Thane and Mordin are written out, what happens if they're my only surviving squad? Why should I be any more penalized than a player who saved only Tali and Garrus? I'd support a mechanism that forced a player to choose between 2-4 squadmates to keep (scattering after an attack, sending them on missions), with the rest of the roster being filled by new or returning team mates.

The only way people will help the reapers is if there are indoctrinated.

Not necessarily, the idea of becoming, practically immortalized, by becoming a reaper, may appeal to some people. It appeals to me

Congratulations! You are indoctrinated.

Wellif you end up with 4 characters left you are probably dead so thats a moot point. As far as im told ME3 carries on directly from ME2. If your shepherd died then your screwed and need to start again.

Your missing the point of the game being RPG it is one long story split into three parts where characters can make any choices they like to influence the entire series. You can not bother recruiting grunt or legion and just leave them on normandy or get them both killed if you like.

You only need two squaddies to survive for Shep to survive. Any two. I see so so many people saying "Garrus has to return, but Thane can't" Well, what happens if Garrus died in my game, but Thane didn't? I should be punished for getting squad members killed, but not getting a specific one killed. I should lose roughly the same amount of content per dead squaddie.

Largely depends on when ME:3 takes place; anything after 6 months would mean that our favorite assassin would have passed away from Kepler Syndrome. I for one, would lose interest in the character if Thane somehow miraculously survived his "incurable" disease.

Shepard's who romanced him knew from the get-go that Thane was terminally ill (a fact that he himself mentions quite often) - it's not like Bioware would be randomly killing the character for no particular reason. Hell, they probably intended to kill Thane during the events of ME:3 if he survived ME:2.

Like I said, it mostly depends on how quickly ME:3 occurs after the events of ME:2.

I doubt all of them will return. Some of the ME1 squad members were left out of ME2 b/c of their role in ME3 and the possible death in the suicide mission. So if this is the case, then why would they include all of ME2 squad members.

So taking that into consideration, some of them might return (Miranda is probably the one with the best chance). The others will probably get cameos that are better (I hope) than the ones that the ME1 squad got in ME2.

I don't think having even the entire ME2 team returning would invalidate the need to keep Ash/Kaidan and Liara away from the suicide mission. It's pretty clear that they'll have essential roles in ME3. ME2 squad mates cannot and will not have those essential roles. Any content involving the ME2 team must be optional because any given team member can be dead. The devs can require the content with Ash/Kaidan and Liara because they're alive in every player's game.

Ash/kaidan and liara will return possibly as squadmates but unlikely as the feel for ME2 was it was over two years ago and a lot can change in that amount of time.

As far as the ME2 team goes if most of your team is dead just redo it again, practice makes perfect as they say.

The most important issue for me and probably everyone else is what will the system requirements be like? will i need:

Faster Graphics card
More memory
super cooling so i can overclock my Pentium and then watch it burn?
HDD space (I imagine it will be quite large)
