Since you were bought by EA, EA told us to screw customer Support and Loyalty. Thats what I've concluded with Dragon Age and Mass Effect. A reply, something, some word, anything such as:

1.No your're not getting another patch.
2. Maybe, but …….in two or three years after a lot of DLC’s have been released.
3.  Patch? Your joking right we already suckered you into paying for the game.

Well lucky enough Wal-Mart takes back nearly everything and was able to get a refund for both Origins and Awakening. Didn’t buy Mass Effect 2 nor will I. Really cannot see how Bioware is beating Blizzard in that
online poll with the VERY POOR customer support they have whereas Blizzard at least patches their games…..

P.s. By Real I mean a patch that actually fixes (not introduce aka 1.03) bugs that have been around since 1.01. Need help? Goto http://dragonage.wik...Dragon_Age_Wiki. There just saved your tech support team a lot of time since that website lists a host of bugs.

Dear EA Customer

Thank you for purchasing one of our games. We are truly sorry you can't play it, but hey patches cost money and frankly our shareholders don't like it when we spend it on such things as customer support. Yes we know we stripped away a character and his entire quests line in Origins so you can't even re-sell the game on ebay. Then we told you he was developed separately from the main game ...rofl...yeah we just can't even keep a straight face when we say that one. Oh and the pay DLC that we state "offers well over one hour each of game time"...we include the download & install time as part of the actual game time; otherwise it would be like 20-30 minutes and people would get really pissed for wasting their money. So once again, we are sorry we sold you a game you can't play. We feel your pain and hope one day some independent modders may create a patch to fix it. Feel free to sign up for our new Star Wars MMO, we hope to launch in 2012 and maybe by 2014 have a playable game.

Sincerely

EA

P.S. Did you hear how we over-charged all the monthly Warhammer MMO subscribers (all 30 of them), some by $300-500! Then we told them to go to their banks and ask for over-draft fee reimbursement?...rofl....oh man we can't wait to get started with the new Star Wars MMO....no seriously we will make a boat load of cash, we may even hire one live person to ask as customer support....

God damn it people! Do you expect a patch every 5 min or that every patch fixes all the problems? Give it time! Its not always an easy fix. Maybe its one dot thats off by one place in millions of lines of code.

it's been over 35 days....and today was the first time they even acknowledged there may be an issue with 1.03

At least companies like Blizzard set a release date and they TEST the game what a concept. If it's not working properly they push the release date back. Their end product is always a game that works and if they have issues after release they acknowledge their customers and fix it fast. The new trend I've been seeing more and more is "who gives a crap about the end product just get it done and out the door so we can make money." I hope that the guys at Bioware have nothing to do with this and the fault lies with EA putting the pressure on the developer to get it done no matter what. When video games weren't making amazing mountains of cash this problem was not happening half as much. Look at what happened to DUKE NUKEM FOREVER. It got bounced from studio to studio and never got made thank god it probably would have been a horrible game that was pushed out the door to soon. I blame the huge corps like EA they don't care about good games they care about money the end.

Was it said by an official source (and can you link it) or is it only a personal speculation?

We don't expect a patch every 5 min but we expect a patch for a about month without any new although DAO Awakening is the most bugged game I have ever play and many people cannot even play DAO OC with patch 1.03 without frequent crash to desktop.

Oh
please as if their games aren´t full of bugs, they are.

I agree with you about the EA part, actulay i think it is EA...they have a nice history of things like that. But in the end it doesn´t matter, we will be still waiting for the patch and the game will still be almost unplayable (at last for me). Not to mention that when people think of Dragon Age the will always think of Bioware first.

And thus EA kills another great game. DA2 is already on my 'not to buy' list after this madness. And yes, I'm saying EA killed it because I still firmly believe that it was EA that pushed BioWare into releasing Awakenings waaaaay before it was ready, (Not to mention the shoddy packaging.) so they could make a quick buck without much effort.

What was wrong with the packaging?
I've got it and I can't see anything wrong, looks like the Origins packaging to me...

Are you kidding me? The one I got from gamestop was so flimsy I wouldn't even use it for a coaster. The Origins one was much sturdier.

I never had any problems that I can remember before patch 1.03.

Before I got Awakening and after I got patch 1.03 I started crashing. 95% of the time it's combat and always random. I can fight the same fight over and have 0 problems. I don't like crashing, I tend to stop playing games that keep crashing. Patch it soon.

I dunno i couldnt care less about game packaging or misprinted manuals as i consider that non relevant issues, however its pretty crucial for any gaming company to be responcive when they bring out a patch that breaks gameplay, the pickpocket bug introduced with 1.03 is my personal gripe (and the reason im waiting for a patch) i didnt experience any other major issues with 1.03 and i think alot of people dont, however alot of people are experience crashes and slower loadtimes so it is a genuine problem patch and they just seemed to realise that it actually broke something.

That is a worrying concept , that it takes them over a month to realise and acknowledge that the latest "upgrade" to their game actually broke more things that it fixed, im hoping this is a one time occurence as i have never previously had any problems with bioware patches with any of their previous titles, im hoping this was a one time occurence (****up) and from now on its gonna be smooth sailing patch wise ;)

I only care in so much as it can propperly protect my disc.  Beyond that, I only pointed it out because of the vast difference I see in packaging between DAO and DAA as another sign that it was skimped on and rushed out the door so EA could sucker us with a sub par product.

Just a side note on all this "they only want us for our money" talk. Has anyone else heard that EA is considering selling beta copies of games to see if they are worth finishing? I mean wtf...

Since 1.03 / Awakening Dragon Age is crashing here also. See this PerMon screenshot:

http://members.home....dao-perfmon.jpg

And.. yeah, all the red crosses are one or more DA crashes. I could screenshot it, but I won't. This is the only program that is crashing at the moment. The crashing is random: in the middle of a fight, picking a chest, just walking, or when having a conversation. I'm quicksaving every 10 steps or so... :/
