I got her but am nearly done so i plan to wait and take her with me throught my next playthrough to hear her different dialogues fresh. Surely though there are people that have spent a lot of time using her already, so my question is, which version of her  power seems more useful to you, the damage bonus or the cooldown?

As a side note I'm a little disappointed with her loyalty power. I was contemplating attempting insanity Vanguard again and thought it might be good...but that cooldown seems pretty long.

I like Rapid Shadow Strike better. The damage difference doesn't seem that much smaller but the 80% cooldown is very noticeable.

Yeah, 450 damage is massive, and since Shadow Strike counts as a Tech power, it's damage is influenced by the Tech upgrades you buy and research.

Personally I would go with the damage output. With enemies that are shielded or have decent armor when she attacks the odds of her killing them so she can benefit from the cooldown are very slim.

Then again, I haven't used her in, say, a situation like the reactor room on the Derelict Reaper where being able to quickly strike Husk after Husk may come in handy, so you may want to wait for more than just my opinion here.

Well, Shadow Strike DOES get a 2x multiplier on damage against all forms of protection, so that 450 damage suddenly becomes 900. And it's only a 9 second cooldown, MUCH quicker than the 12-second cooldown of a lot of powers. Also, against husks, use her Flash Grenade, it insta-kills like a Concussive Shot.

"Best" is kind of a subjective term, but for what it's worth it's what I've been using and I've got no complaints thus far.

I only have used her with my infiltrator so far and I gave her rapid SS. I use my widow to pick people off from long range as usual, but now with Kasumi, when they start to get to close I switch to my smg or pistol and take their shields down so she can kill them in one hit. So after I give the command to SS, I start focusing on the next target. By the time she is back in postion and ready to hit again, I've gotten about 1 or 2 (depends on if I had to take cover for health) more shields down and she is able to take them out. So in about 10~15 seconds I can kill 3 people and be doing almost constant damage. Plus it helps having the reduced cooldown if I suddenly get overwhelmed and need her flash shortly after having her use SS. I haven't used the extra damage version yet though so I can't compare.

I'm a bit torn over this myself. On the one hand, it's great to be able to chain Rapid SSs together. On the other, I actually use SS more often to break defenses, since I usually have undefended targets shocked, frozen and killed in short order.

Going with Rapid for now, since it can do the chaining and still do a decent job at defense stripping.

I took the rapid, but looking back, I should have just taken the heavy. I can't seem to create enough opportunities to chain her attacks, especially since I'm so used to finishing enemies off once they're down to health.

I use her flashbang grenade imore often than shadow strike. Great for characters who like to get in close like soldiers vanguards and assault sentinels.

rapid all the way, spent my whole first playthrough kicking myself for getting the deadly version, completely pointless, rapid is the way to go, 2 to 3 bursts of your gun takes down the enemies protection, cast the rapid strike, then start shooting another enemy by the time that enemies shield is down kasumi can attack again.

Rapid is much better if you plan on using her a lot. Just don't use her as a defense stripper... use her as a finisher instead. If she always lands the kill, then she's ready to go again very quickly. I find that keeping her constantly finishing off opponents also increases her survivability since she doesn't get shot while stealthing there or back.

As an infiltrator, she's awesome to use to finish off an opponent that didn't quite die with a single shot. If you miss the headshot and get the body and they don't quite die... but aren't worth using a sniper shot on then just send in kasumi to finish them and move on to the next.

I took rapid first (got her at the end of a game) and then switched to heavy for my next game and like heavy better - I found chaining together death blows on insanity with my infiltrator just not convenient enough to pass up the extra damage. Both evolutions are good though, if my only choice was rapid I would still love both the character and the power - watching her kill scions and Harbinger is awesome.

Great character and a great new power.

I've been playing with the character in my party since Horizon, and I'd say go for the Deadly Shadow Strike. One, it's only 9 seconds, which can be reduced with Master Infiltrator. And 2) With Deadly, you have a one hit kill Kasumi killing every 9 seconds, plus doing her own shooting afterwords. And even if she doesn't kill them, their shields are down, their health is deadly low, and they're down on the ground waiting for you to beat their face in.
