I share his frustration- they are COMPLETELY ignoring the bugs. If they fixed them, and has release a longer "expansion" the sales would be like 3 times what they are....

Valente, with all due respect, tell that to my archer rogue who hardly does any damage compared to my other classes and is rendered useless once their stamina runs out, which is after..oh say...after two shots maybe? Then I'm doing 34 on auto hits, seriously?

Edit: This is 34 on auto hit at lvl 19 fyi.

Wow your rogue does no damage??? mine hits 350s without special attacked soloed all of awakening with a archer rogue on nightmare mode heres what you need
(A must for all archers)
Aim, Dont use rapid shot it does less damage if you got everything here you'll be dealing death easy
Weak points
Accuracy
(Optional)
Song of courage
Use rally with justice
(Armor)
Rainswept
Ferrets gloves
Wolf treds
(Weapon)
Misery-Dwarf sells it at the tavern in amaranthine its a must for my archer love that bow.

Try and do all this And you'll have a rogue archer that puts legolas from lord of the rings to shame.

That's in awakenings though, I've read that archery is very powerful in the expansion. Myself, I won't touch the expansion until I actually see a patch for this game that I've been waiting for since the release. I actually wanted my first character to be a pure archer but couldn't put up with the low damage output, after all the waiting and basicly a useless patch I refused to give them any more money especially for the amount they want for the expansion.
Is a pure archer "playable" in origins? Sure you can play it, but there is no reason this long after the release, with a patch already made, that we should have to settle for a gimped archer simply because they are too lazy to actually give us some fixes.

I agree with complaining about glitches and they should be fixed. But alas TC, it's the wrong delivery. Just pretend you are at work and you have a problem with a business process that only another department can handle. Be nice and respectful. That always works for me.

What I find disappointing is that I have seen no mention of these issues in any review or on any gaming website. I have reported them to several, invited them to check out the forums and investigate for themselves without response. I'm sure there could be all kinds of reasons: lack of time and resources to investigate post release issues by the game site in question, worry about angering the game company and/or producer and losing exclusives, time crunch for getting in the initial review does not leave time to really notice some issues or they have a not quite final build and assume it will be fixed in final, hearing complaints ad nauseum about games, or even that they genuinely did not encounter any issues during their single person playthrough (as complex as these games are with all the permutations available, it could certainly happen).

However, I for one would have liked to have some heads up about the types of issues so I could have made an informed choice before purchase. Since game reviews or websites are not giving/able to give me what I need or the company does not have the resources to either pre-test due to complexity of the game or post-patch due to resources, my part in future will be to wait. With Dragon Age 2 I'll wait until I can see what actual users are saying after it's been out a couple of months. Still no guarantee, but a better opportunity to avoid my own personal grief (and sparing the forums my own special brand of vitriol :) ).

It does seem much harder to get any company's attention or response once they have your money. Personally, seeing the names of the moderators on the bottom of this page every time I post makes me shake my head. I find it very hard to believe they don't care, however, it's very easy to assume such when there is no response :(.

Is there a bug with the damage stat on the character's inventory screen in Awakenings? Except for mages, anytime I equiped a new weapon, the damage numbers never changed.

I just dont get this "Bioware has made no response" line. Because they have. They have threads going in the technical support forums here asking for players to submit info about crashes and bugs so they can begin working on a fix for them.

Lilisia, they've been doing that for months now with no results...they're like "yeah keep posting your problems but we won't even have the courtesy of updating you on the process, we'll just keep you in the dark hoping and guessing tha after submitting these numerous bugs and complaints we may just pop one on ya one of these months and you'll get a patch! Until then dear customers, please stay tuned and keep posting your glitches. Thank you."

And to those who asked me my dex etc, the character is for Oirgins, in the Ps3 which STILL has the dexterity BUG so hence the low damage input, I'm not sure what exactly my stats are since I stopped playing months ago but I know its at least 40+ on dex, and some cunning and willpower. I'll double check though, but yeah frustrating. And I'm using the bow you get from Lelianas personal quest, I remember it being like the best, or which ever bow has Rapid Aim cause I remember the one I was using had that in it, so one fo the two bests.

There has been threads specificly for bugs here since the first month this game was out, so them saying they don't know or haven't seen these is a lie. The only "response" we've gotten in six months was a dev coming on a thread maybe twice saying "we're looking into it", not to mention the last time was right after the release of the expansion, so I count that more as damage control/PR. The fact remains that in six months they haven't done a dam thing to fix this game, only release more content to get our money, and actually added more bugs with expansion.
Simply having someone come on a thread every few months and saying that "they're looking into it" doesn't really qualify as a response since they haven't done anything to actually address any of the bugs. As far as I'm concerned it's simply damage control/PR to keep people buying the DLC/expansion, since they haven't even given consoles the same fixes that the pc has had for months. I mean are we really supposed to believe that they couldn't give us the dex fix which has been there since the first week this game was out? The bottom line is that they want as much of our money as they can get and care nothing about actually fixing this game, they've had plenty of time and opportunity to do so and have instead done nothing and basicly ignore us.

Well, I guess so, it just seems a bit much to expect them to post in every single thread saying where they are with the patch.

Anyway I think I must be officially bored of waiting myself now cause the money I had been saving for Awakening I just went and spent on the Sims 3. I had been putting it off because of how addictive the last Sims game was for me. :D

For what its worth, here:

social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/127/index/2274831#2276274

Personally, I'm not holding my breath. That same person was allegedly added to the staff to allow more communication. Not noticing much of a difference. Unless one counts that wonderful fiasco of the countdown for something only certain areas are eligible for. :shrugs:

Fixin' code is not simple and on some problems it just eats up time. Just like NWN 1 CEP team use to say -- "it is done when it is done."

Sigh. Remember ME1 2nd patch? After a long time waiting for this patch... it's so useless. So I learnt not to expect anything from BioWare when comes to patching up games. They prefer to release games with holes than waiting for a while to get it 100% fixed.

By the way, for whoever asked, I had a chance to check. My Desterity is at 56, and my cunning at 34 or so, and about 18 will power. At the Market District, end game after the landmeet, my wonderful rogue is hitting for about 34 auto hit, and missing more than half the time. She can only use Arrow Of Slaying and Scattershot before she's out of stamina......so not fun to play.

And to anyone who might say I should put more points into willpower, I don't feel like I should be sacrificing dmg (lol what damage?) for more energy, I shouldn't give one up for the other. Especially for the fact that non mana users dont have a way to regain their energy. They should have made it where every auto hit gets you stamina, so that way you just have to build up during fights.

Hopefully all the banter will make them get off their duffs and fix some of this stuff. I have the PC version and I can't even play it due to crash issues that plenty of people are having. I will never buy a Bioware title again as I'm sure many others will follow suit. If this isn't enough for even a simple answer as to when we can expect a fix then that shows what kind of company Bioware is. I will let anyone I know who even speaks of buying a Bioware title about this injustice!!!!!

The times I crash are usually when I have been on the game for several hours,  on my PC.   It certainly isn't unplayable.    I am just curious...do you have the latest video and audio drivers?  Sometimes folks forget to update those..and that causes crashes.

And when you do have all that done video and audio drivers) well the real isseu is the os you are playing on. I have a lot of games and the crash issues is mostly by windows itself. If there was a os where you can install everything on (not like linux where you can't play many games) i would buy that. But....microsoft is market leader and makes a **** os but every one still buy it. odd
