Silly OP, Europeans aren't part of
the galactic community.

Neither is USA.... Because it could be as good as England

All characters speak english so it also good be almost any country because the accent ins't any speasial

And yes I WANT some russian accent or Italian or Irish maybe even Indian:P

There already was an Indian accent in ME1 - remember Samesh Bhatia? Well, it was a very bad attempt at one, since it was totally over-the-top and the VA couldn't even pronounce the character's name properly. (I'm Indian, his rendition of 'Bhatia' left me in splits the first time I heard it - he made it sound like 'Buttiya'! )

The Presidium Groundskeeper in ME2 had a somewhat stereotypical Italian-American Jersey accent.

We've already had an Australian accent from Miranda, several British accents, and a really weird South African accent. What we really need is an alien speaking English without a translator. They can lampshade every accent trope in the book.

Western Europe is very common in games, so is Russia from the East, but there are no other countries from the Old Continent; Grand Theft Auto 4 has Slovakian as a main character and that's it...
Kaidan Alenko mentioned something about a girl from Turkey, as far as I remember (I guess her name was Rahna). Kaidan's surname points that he might have russian connections (I recognize that, because I am from Eastern Europe, to be specific, from Poland); there also was rear admiral Mikhalkovich (another Russian) from ME1.
Interesting thing is that we have nobody from Northern Europe - I don't recall anybody from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland or Finland. And these blonde guys are funny, especially their languages which are as difficult as Polish.

I am not negating the fact that there are no foregin accents. I am simply saying that the majority of people don't want accents they can't understand.

That's common sense.
Bioware's not going to waste money and time on incomprehensible voice-acting.

Why does everyone think Zaeed has a south African accent? Has nobody heard of a cockney accent before?

Yeah i think england for being so small may have the most dieversity for accents. You can pretty much drive 50 miles & the accent totally changes.

Zaeed is British, he speaks like SAS commando. Afrikaan accent sounds more like Irish or sth, owing to Dutch people (Boers) who were colonists there.

Being honest, goddamn Zaeed's got the best voice acting in the game.

What you need is a Scottish vanguard style character in a traditional kilt and sporran who likes to gie folk a Scottish kiss (i.e. head-butts enemies) whilst issuing forth much profanity.

Basically your average Friday night out in Glasgow!

I totaly agree on that one! :P

Sweden rules- ^
And we are not as dumb as Hollywood is making us in every f***ing
movie they make. =)
I have heard that from many, that my languages is hard to understand.
More of us from Sweden in the future games, please^^.
Just one more thing to say:

Älskar spelet och allt nedladdningsbart till den. Älskar karaktärerna och uppdragen. Fortsätt på samma sätt och jag kommer gladeligen fortsätta att spendera min hårt förtjänade pengar på det.

I want to see more blended races. I would think that straight up caucasians would be a minority. 1 billion Chinese in the world today with 6 billion making up the rest of the population makes me wonder why there are so many white folks running around.

Actually, I think ME1 wasn't bad at that... it's hard to pin Kaidan Alenko and Udina down to a certain ethnicity, name and face-wise.

In ME, IRC, still seemed mostly caucasian to me.  I am trying to think if there was single crewman on the Normandy that was not Caucasian.

IMO, the human race at the time of ME would be made up by mostly tan or beige skin tone people, not white, black, asian, middle eastern or etc.  I have nothing really to base it off other from what I hear in conversation, South Park, my Phd. buddy and whatever else I hear in passing.

Not a big deal though, it doesn't not affect how I enjoy ME2.  I just always invisioned the future different in terms of color of skin and the type of population I would see.  Maybe something like Firefly.  Settlements that seemed mostly populated with asian/chinese descent and Cantonnese (Mandarin, I am not sure which or even sure of the spelling for that matter) becoming the second language for everyone.

Head on over to the Flotilla for some eastern European accents.

Actually the way every damn Quarian seems to speak with a different "exotic" accent annoys me to no end. It makes no sense.

I always figured that was because the Quarians spend their lives on different ships.  The ships themselves are almost like regions of a different country, hence the different accents.

But yeah, a lot of it seems arbitrary when one spouts up with a eastern accent, but then her Dad's got an oriental accent.

I don't want any eastern europeans in my squad - especially not any GREEK!

You should've read my post to the end, my friend :) Not only Greece ain't from Eastern Europe, but Croatia and Serbia as well; they're Balkan States, which includes also Montenegro, Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia&Herzegovina and Bulgaria. That is why I was writing about SOUTHERN Europe :)

I know, I know.. I was trying to be witty - because you said that the european squadmember could "EVEN" be greek - and I found that to be a little funny.. You know - as though a greek companion would be acceptable (though perhaps not preferable)..
But yearh, you got me - I always thought that the balkan-states were categorized as eastern european countries - but I can see on wikipedia that it isn't the case.

I honestly don't care if there are gonna be Europeans in Mass Effect 3. It would be nice if they put a Dutch guy in it but if you look at all the humans in the games their continent of origin is rarely of any relevance. But I wouldn't be surprised if they did. But it might as well be more Africans or Southern Americans that Bioware decides to put in the game. That's really up to them.

Think about it, in ME1 and ME2 there were almost no Europeans as NPCs, why should it be like that in the last part of this awesome trilogy? Of course I'm more talking about Eastern and Southern Europe, as Western is a common one. Please BioWare, do something about it!

Well, truth is the Greek squad member would probably be loafing about drinking iced coffee, smoking and arguing loudly about soccer and politics all the time... I know it cause I am one

To be honest, it didn't even occur to me in the game. It would be nice though, I like having other accents in the game beyond the usual American/British (and I don't actually recall having seen a Greek in a videogame (barring games like Age of empires):innocent:)
