Does anyone know if the weapon achievements reset you're kill count with them if you start a new playthrough?

Not sure. I do know that all you need to do to get the weapon achievements is multiple simulation runs since the simulator kills count towards those achievements.

The weapon and power achievements are cumulative throughout your whole gameplay. They don't reset either when you die or when you start a new character. If you wanted to, you could get most of them while still on Eden Prime, by reloading the same character over and over and by starting new characters with different talents.
