I think that what Eurypterid really meant was that the several compiled message threads are already so overloaded, that if you want to address your fellow gamers here, post a new individual message of your own (and I want to add that you need to include details, not just a complaint). If you want immediate relief, contact EA directly, of course. None of those of us with much in the way of experience expects any meaningful responses here from Bioware. If that upsets you, tell EA, not me.Eurypterid wrote...
Folks, if you're having troubles, your best course of action is to make your own new thread in this forum.
Here is the description of how to report a problem:

having a problem in The Fade when/after fighting Sloth Demon. After defeating Sloth Demon, the screen goes blank (as if ready to play a video) and then I get that error message that states "problem ... do you want to notify ... and the game totally closes out?!
Any ideas?
Always send that notification to Microsoft. If the problem is a game issue they forward the report to Bioware.
Check CPU usage - is it hitting 100% at that time? Also check temperatures - if your CPU or video card is overheating this will (usually) cause a crash.
If you don't know how to check these things theres a list of useful (free) utilities in this thread: Crash to desktop troubleshooting tips & possible solutions
Edit: Added to that thread things like how to backup & restore, how to check the Dragon Age game logs for error messages, fixing some common issues... its a work in progress.

Windows XP Minimum Specifications
OS: Windows XP with SP3
CPU: Intel Core 2 Single (or equivalent) running at 1.6Ghz or greater
AMD 64 (or equivalent) running at 2.0Ghz or greater
RAM: 1 GB or more
DVD ROM (Physical copy)
20 GB HD space
Video: ATI Radeon X850 256MB or greater (either this is wrong)
NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT 128MB or greater (or this one is wrong)
(Note: IMO, the practical choices for the two video cards above should be the Radeon X800 Pro, and the Geforce 6800 GS, at least, for small textures - it will take a Radeon X1650 XT (or X1800 GTO) for medium & better textures)

Every time I try to start the game it says that the disk cannot be found. Any ideas?
Are you playing DOA or DOA - Awakenings? If its Awakenings you have to have the Awakenings disk in, the DOA disk won't play if Awakenings is installed.

Sorry, but there is no laptop at all that gets any official support. That is EA's bad opinion of that PC type as a gaming platform (and they are correct to feel that way). Fill in a proper problem report. I personally reommend you pay attention to Chris, in that regard, not to Victor, as per the included link:Marissa903 wrote...
very poor framerate even on the lowest settings, so bad i can barely move - my laptop is fairly new and exceeds the video requirements - what can i do?

A majority of PC owners have no real idea at all how to rank video cards. Therefore:
Video Card Performance Rankings (ME-2):
social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/106/index/1713086
Looking at your profile, you joined for Dragon Age. There is a relatively large jump in video requirements between Bioware's two newest games. Dragon Age can be previewed to some extent on some pretty terrible, low-powered computer hardware. I wouldn't agree that it "plays" at all well on the official minimum Geforce, or looks very good on the official minimum Radeon (which is in fact quite fast for its age, but is rather elderly now).
FYI, here are the two newest Bioware games' video requirements:
Video: ATI Radeon X850 256MB or greater (either this is wrong)
NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT 128MB or greater (or this one is wrong)
(Note: IMO, the practical choices for the two video cards above should be the Radeon X800 Pro, and the Geforce 6800 GS, at least, for small textures - it will take a Radeon X1650 XT (or X1800 GTO) for medium or better textures)
"Video Card = 256 MB (with Pixel Shader 3.0 support). Supported GPU Chips: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 or greater; ATI Radeon X1600 Pro or greater. Please note that NVIDIA GeForce G.210, 7100, 7200, 7300, 7400, 7500, 8100, 8200, 8300, 8400, 9200, and 9300; ATI Radeon X1300, HD 2400, 3100, 3200, HD 3450, HD 3470, HD 4200, HD 4350, and HD 5450 are below minimum system requirements. Updates to your video and sound card drivers may be required. Intel and S3 video devices are not officially supported in Mass Effect 2."
I added ME2's matching specs, specifically for the lists of unsupported low end cards.

That message dated to the point roughly corresponding with the discontinuation of forum moderation, whether in answer to a PM, or from immediate oversight. I'd have expect Eurypterid to have commented further, had this happened before Bioware told all the moderators to ignore the DA PC Tech forum.
Incidentally, among the various comments in this thread were quite a few never answered at all, and I don't think that any of those authors ever followed Euripterid's advice about a separate message thread:

If you follow my advice, you'll just use patch 1.02A for now, and just wait to play any DLC or expansion that demands a newer (and bad) patch.
I used my browser and visited this link for the downloads when they were available, each in its own turn:

Cannot figure out how to "unpause" a paused scenario--it pauses as a tutorial and I can't unpause the screen. I'm an idiot--but I read the manual! A little help, please.
Well, when it goes into tutorial mode, it's waiting for you to do something specific to that tutorial. Something in the UI will be highlighted, and the game is waiting for you to click it. Do so. Repeat as necessary. An alternative: click on "Options" on the main menu, then uncheck "Show Tutorials".
I must have started this game over at least 20 times since purchasing it last week, after i talk to Nan in the kitchen the game automatically goes into 'Pause' and i can't get out of it. I've try what you said but that didn't help, any more suggestions?

No one will have anything to offer at this point. You chose to ignore the fact that no one ion the forum (to my knowledge) is a clairvoyant. Without information, all of us here are simply unable to offer useful assistance.Zorack wrote...
