Say, Misfit, I've looked for any prior message you wrote asking why your system couldn't handle this game, but didn't find anything?

It was at the top of page 7, Gorath, my bad. But I do believe I forgot to specify a question about my computer. That's my fault, I'm afraid.
The system in question is a nearly 4 year old HP Pavilion a1350n with the AMD Athlon 4200+ 64 2x processor. I've replaced everything but the motherboard in it and I'll be hunting down one of THOSE this weekend!
I'm a gamer at heart, any system I get has to handle World of Warcraft. If it can handle WoW, it can handle anything! LOL

Actually, one of my PCs had that CPU in it just four months ago, so I did play this game on that one when the game was new, and had no serious problems myself (I had an HD 3850 in it six months ago, but there's an HD 3870 in it now).  I have Windows 7 on a different PC.  Only Windows XP is on the one that previusly had a slower X2 4200 like yours is, and there is "only" 2 GBs of RAM.

Did you ever test with a clean boot procedure?

P. S.  For the most part, WoW has seriously minimal requirements compared to normal single player games such as Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

No... I didn't even know that was an option. But I need to replace the motherboard/CPU anyway, everything is suffering from it. It first started becoming noticeable around January and has been steadily getting worse to where I'm afraid to play WoW and wound up uninstalling Dragon Age. I don't want a crash before I can fix it... I'd be up the creek without a paddle! (I'm also an online college student and my so-called "backup" is a 5 year old Toshiba laptop.)

I keep crashing in Awakenings during the Queen of the Blackmarsh fight. It seems as if whenever it takes flight.

Would be nice to see some words about the current state of a patch. It is annoying that Bioware only appears in the forum when there is something new to sell.

its simple ... no one buys anything else until the patch comes out ...

I have the same feelings too. Why would I buy their new DLC if the current product is broken. In fact this is already deceitful on their part. Bioware should cease and desist from selling any DLC until they have successfully patched the game including the game bugs themselves.

I wish there was a way we could really damage bioware such as gamers not buying their expansions, but alas we all know that plenty will buy even if the original game is broken and nigh unplayable to a sizeable group.

I'm a while into DA:O and have stopped due to stupid crashes spoiling the experience, its a shame since i'm a sucker for RPG's and know i would've bought all the expansions and likely a console version as well. For now i couldn't enjoy the expansions even if i wanted to, I've avoided the mass effect expansions as well.

Frankly if bioware cant be bothered to get one of their minions to jump on here for 2 minutes a week, even to say sorry we're working on it then i'll spend my money elsewhere, hopefully others will too.

WOW seems like still nothing on this but same ole run around and making more content then fixing the game.

Bioware you have officially lost a consumer. This game has been out since Nov. 2009 and the problem of CTD %100 Processor Issues are still there. You pop on every so often 1 every 2-3 months to gather info "As you would call it" and yet no response. I understand that DLC etc is your Cash Cow but, your lack of respect for me and other gamers who spent there hard earned cash on this game just to have you ignore us is totally unacceptable. In the Future you might get 1 more purchase for me with buying ME3 but, that’s because it WORKS on the 360. I am done with BIOWARE as a company. You will never see anymore of my money after ME3.

P.S. Forget about Knights Of The Republic MMO. If you guys can't give this game a simple patch what am I to expect for somethingI am paying monthly for. FORGET about it. You Lost My Money For That Game Too.

Right on! Serves Bioware right! They buried their heads in the sand after Awakening and patch 1.03 came out hoping and denying that nothing's wrong with the game.

Since upgrading to Origins:Awakening, I have had serious stability issues.  These never occured with the original version.  I also had stability issues with v.1.03 (pre-Awakening module installation).

Sorry.  There is Zero support for onboard video chips (HD 3200).  You are wasting time asking about /
reporting about any such.

Specific minimum graphic requirement:
Video: ATI Radeon X850 256MB or greater (either this is wrong)
NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT 128MB or greater (or this one is wrong)

(Note: IMO, the practical choices for the two video cards above should be the Radeon X800 Pro, and the
Geforce 6800 GS, at least, for small textures - it will take a Radeon X1650 XT (or X1800 GTO) for medium
or better textures)

When playing, game slows after 10 mins untill unplayably slow, 1 frame every 6 or 7 seconds. The game then usually crashes. I have tried playing the game with minimal and maximum graphics settings and they make no difference to this problem.

An HD 4350 is hardly any better than an onboard chip.  It isn't supposed to be able to
keep up with this game.

That stupid way of "collecting data" is mostly a fail, and since it doesn't provide a useful guide to the real
video device,. here is the only desktop Radeon HD 4500, next:

www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php

And, of course, that is a desktop version, since no laptop card is supported by EA anyway.

For any desktop owner with one of those business-only Radeons, or something similar from nVIDIA,
such as the G.210, replace them with one of these:

That's pretty much the answer. I fixed my issue by re-installing Direct X from the MS redistributable package, but I will not be buying any new DLC or game content for Dragon Age until a new patch is released.

Boycotting Bioware is pointless. I don't about you guys but try as I might, I will still end up getting SWTOR, and so will at least half the people in these forums, as will most Star Wars fans; and pretty much anybody that's ever heard of KOTOR.

Definitely agree with a DLC boycott. I'm not buying any DLC (ME2 or DA) until a patch is released. In fact I've got even installed Awakening yet, due to nightmares with 1.03...

Come on Bioware - either man up and tell us you've stopped supporting it, or give us a progress update! It's getting on 3 months since you broke our games...

Since it's being released as an MMO, I certainly don't want it, and I still play KotOR occasionally.
However, only the original SW movie from the sextet ever held any appeal at all for me.

Crashes pretty much every time I play. Normally when using AoE skills such as Cleanse Area or Holy Strike but it has crashed even when not using any AoE. No message to submit a report comes up after a crash. I'm playing Dragon Age off of Steam. I normally get smooth framerates on high settings but every once in a while it turns into a slideshow for seemingly no reason.

EDIT: Crashed 3 times in a row on the Anvil fight. All about in the same exact spot. After hitting each side of the anvil once and then about to hit it a second time it crashes. Can't really find anything else in common besides that.
