I think I figured out what the issue is...the last update microsoft installed via the windows update was for windows defender....I use something else for all my internet/security/firewall/anti-virus needs, so I disabled it....now to check if that solved the problem.

Having contest crash's doesn't matter where, mostly in combat etc, also does freezes..

If you are not using the ATI HDMI Output, disable ATI High Definition Audio Device in Windows Device Manager.

You should at least update your DirectX version with the latest update available here and update also .NET Framework with the hotfixes/updates available on Windows Update web site.

I have all the lastest updates, Nothing on my system is out of date, This is not my pc having the issue, It is Dragonage crashing, nothing to do with my computer, my computer meets all requirements, My computer plays every other game fine, IRL I am a software tech, so I already know about having all my stuff update, My direct x is 11, Their are no more updates for direct x As of this point, Netframe work is up to date, I have every update from microsoft including most of the optional (none driver related) which I got from the main sites of the creators of the hardware..

So you know that DA:O is a DirectX 9 game and that Microsoft release update for DirectX 9 on a regular basis (the current update is dated August 2010).

You don't have to. If you look at the Supported Operating Systems in the link I gave you, you should notice that Windows 7 is listed.

last time I Checked, You can't downgrade windows 7 from Direct x 11, because it comes pre-installed in the core files, And any time you try to install a older version of direct X, you get "You have a newer version of Direct X

Even when I had XP running and the lastest netframe work, and lastest Direct X9 the one you mentioned, Dragon age still Crashed, This has been a ongoing issue for lots of people, I don't think theirs a single person out their who plays the pc version and has no crashing, but I could be mistaken, as far as I'm concerned having a later version of Direct x is always better, which is 11, not 9. for the game, it shouldn't really matter if you have 9 or 11, as long as you have 9 or above.

WRONG.  Dx10 and Dx11 are equally incomplete and not fully baclward compatible.  This game, same as many others, cannot run at all without adding Dx9 after Dx10 / 11.  That's a fact, and if you are getting an error message, you've chosen to add Dx9 incorrectly.

You just don't pay attention very well is all.

Three million something copies have been sold.  Most of the owners have never been here, don't know this place exists, have no need for it.  I've had no CTDs, BSODs, freezes, crashes, only the fool EA DVD drive conflict, is all.

That's with test runs of the game on four PCs, and with six video cards (changes to two of the PCs during the past nine months, for faster speeds).

how about telling me How I go about doing it, because as I clearly "Clearly" stated in my previous post, I even had XP, Running with all the lastest updates including direct X, and netframe work, Etc, and 3 Pcs here which all meet the requirements and can play any PC game out on the market maxed out, All crash, 3 different systems, Different specs, SAME ISSUE, I spent well over 100dollars for my copy cause I bought it from direct2drive collectors edition, My room mate has a actaull CD copy, and he got so upset over it he uninstalled it threw it the corner cause it kept crashing,

I do pay attention well, I tend to keep up to date on this stuff, from my own "Observation" I have seen nothing but complaints, not only here but other tech sites too!, Including Toms hardware, Tech guy forums, Etc.... Not trying to be rude but to me as a software person, That Purely shows a Game Issue, not a PC issue, lets do some fact checks, Every game I have or ever had has ran fine on my system, those that crashed in the past like Starcraft 2, was fixed when a patch was released, No more crash's, Its probably the system build we are using isn't really compitable/or throughly tested on, which could be the case

now if you can go about installing direct x9 Which wont solve my issue, I'll re-try it for S&Giggles (I tested it on xp and made no differances) Please feel free to explain how to go about installing it on windows 7 without getting rid of 11..

But I am Glade to know some people are running fine.

Far too often, owners of below minimum, unsupported hardware are complaining about problems and avoiding the truth that they should have expected trouble due to the cheap and / or obsolete hardware they have.

Elsewhere, in other video graphics articles published on the Social Forums, the differences between what a Game Developer chooses to name as the minimum, and what the cheapskate route to playing games on junk for graphics amounts to, have been defined.  Some low end business graphics cards from AMD and nVIDIA can satisfy that latter crowd, but I personally believe they are doing a disservice to the work done by Bioware's people creating this game when they choose to do this.

Windows XP Minimum Specifications
OS: Windows XP with SP3
CPU: Intel Core 2 Single (or equivalent) running at 1.6Ghz or greater
AMD 64 (or equivalent) running at 2.0Ghz or greater
RAM: 1 GB or more
DVD ROM (Physical copy)
20 GB HD space
Video: ATI Radeon X850 256MB or greater (this is clearly wrong)
NVIDIA GeForce "6600 GT" 128MB or greater (and this one is more wrong)

(Note: IMO, the practical choices for the two video cards above should be the Radeon X800 Pro, and the Geforce 6800 GS, at least, for small textures - it will take a Radeon X1650 XT (or X1800 GTO) for medium or better textures)

The HD 4350 is six notches below the practical minimum cards, and 14 notches below the Official Minimum Radeon, so I would have to guess you've burned it up with overstress, if it ever did seem to perform at a higher level than it is now.

On the numbers that are shared with the minimum "Small Textures" practical card, the X800 Pro, the HD 4350 can only manage 27% and 31 % of the performance of that five year old graphics card, although on a third measurement, it got 80% of that one's performance.

Here the poor little wimp is next to the accurate "Practical" Medium Texture minimum card:

IMO, you needed a new, real game-capable card before you bought this game, actually.

Something really decent in USD, stateside, for $135

www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx

This is junk, you do not want another of the same:

It's only $25, and worth maybe half of that: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814125251

And what do you think my issue is?
So far All I've seen was direct x as a Solution to my issue which I have tested (DaO)on two different OS's now (not counting my room mates Computers), Minus trying 9 out on 7 which no other game in existances, has ever had a issue with dx11 that I have playied.

not trying to be rude but the way you tried to help the other was abit rude :(.... I personally came here to try to get some help, I would LOVE to play dragon age, but its like impossiable when nothing you do fix's it, I've done 4+ reinstalls, thinking it was my system, Tested my hardware, it comes out fine, my GPU card is brand new, most of my Hardware is, I have googled and googled for days,
If you are able to assist us, Then please do, but go about it the right way,

Forgive me if I seem like I was being rude, but folk are just asking for help.

as for my own system specs, I meet the Minume requirements just fine, above it actaully, I Come close to the recommanded, my processor fails and thats about it.

if you have any other advice I will be glade to try them.

well the requirements of the back of the box say ATI Radeon HD 3850 512MB or greater. My card is better than that so why would it not work or get "over stressed". I'd like to know how you know my card isnt running normal because im bringing my computer in to where I bought it today. I called them and they acted like i was crazy because I said it might have been over stressed.

You're wrong; your card is far below an HD 3850 as you can see it here.
