Thank you Bioware for letting me kill Ashley. Why couldn't I kill Kaidan too, though?

- is the OP serious xD Play ME2 after finishing ME1 it talks about Ashley or Kaiden. A commander is forced to make hard decisions. Same thing happens in the military to, you have to make difficult choices, save your bestfriend or save your newly found lover, this is part of the RP it really adds to the story and the character. Lol My sister played through the game she got attached to both, she killed Ashley and started crying xD. I saved Ashley cause I was like Kaiden complains too much, and like **** you deserve it! Anyways WREX/GRUNT FTW and Thane/Legion FTW. Zaeed was tuff scarred and had lots of story, so did Jack. Besides those 3 in ME2 the latter were the 2nd best. You should definitely play ME2 though xD. And stop ****ing about it ruining your experience when it should've immersed you further, of a real Alliance Marine. xD but the OP is hilllllarious.

1. I dont like playing ugly characters. I'm sorry if all you macho men out there think ugly is better, but news flash. Girls do play games. And we tend not to like playing things with tentacles or blue and green skin.
Whoah, whoah, whoah there!
I'm amazed no female gamers commented on this on the first page, and I was so offended I read no further before I had to say something.
You don't speak for all girls. I am female, and I love the aliens. They don't have to be eye candy to have awesome personalities. ME1 would suffer if Wrex, Tali'Zorah, and Garrus weren't a part of it. Those three were probably my favorite characters in both games--even though Wrex and Garrus are both pretty darn ugly (and there are girls who very much disagree with my opinion on that).
As a matter of fact, I much prefer Garrus as a romance to Kaidan, even though Kaidan's definitely better-looking!
If you can't get over the aliens being alien, then you probably shouldn't play a science fiction game with aliens!

Blah, what a waste of time. Well at least I didn't buy Mass Effect 2 yet.. saved me some money right there.
Wow.... throwing away a game because it actually has a twist in the plot...th'as a bit drastic.
On the other she does ahve a point, why can't an alien lead the Salarians? My guess: the other two are Alliance officers, so The STG wants to follow Alliance hierarchy since you are a Spectre but mainly an Alliance Officer.
Second point, that completely stops you from playing the 100% renegade playtrhough where you are a xenophobe who votes Terra Firma, etc...since the renegade Shepard should be for a human independant fleet etc, he shouldn't take with him a Krogan or a turian...He should be abale to just stick to his two buddies .
In DAO if you take decisions that your comrades disagree with they leave. ME doesn't allow for that so you can go around the Citadel screaming your hatered of aliens but the turian and Asari by your side won't mind at all..weird...

And in ME2 you can have an all human team trough all the game.
Also, you dont realy control anyone else exept Shepard, so whats the big deal having a ugly alien with you? Your only friends with "good" looking people in IRL?
You humans are all racist!

Haha, oh WOW. Mekkie, let me jsut say, that you make me PROUD to be a lady that enjoys playing games. Not. You are exactly why girls who play games get a bad reputation EVERYWHERE. Please, go and play Final Fantasy if you so desperately want an all-human squad rather than playing a game with aliens in it. Because you know what? The aliens in Mass Effect may not be pretty, but damn it, they're cool. They're WAY more interesting than the humans by way of their personality, the way they look, and culturally. It's absolutely fascinating to talk to the alien characters and read up on the journal entries. So what if they're not beautiful? Ashley and Kaidan sure as hell weren't. I might as well play with characters who are ugly and are meant to be.
To reiterate my point, please don't generalise what girls may think, because I hated the humans in ME1 and 2, and will probably hate them again in ME3. Aliens will always be so much better.
But if you really feel that strongly, don't pick up ME2, because you'll just complain at the end and make every woman who has played Mass Effect look bad.
I'm actually a male gamer, but I have to admit, while reading through the posts up until the one I have quoted, this is exactly what I wanted to say. I'm glad a female gamer said it instead. xD

I personally stopped using him the moment I got Garrus. He is, in my opinion, a vastly superior combat resource than Kaidan ever was.

lolwut? You are playing a sci-fi game featuring aliens, and you won't play with them? LMAOMekkie wrote...
So... I play through as all humans. I don't play aliens. Now i have to choose being killing of Kaiden and killing off Ashley?
Should I just uninstall now? Or is there some way to save them both?
I *will not* continue without my human squad.
You can try ME2, there are always enough human squadmates wehre you'll never have to use aliens I suppose, but that's just . . . odd:bandit:

Thank you! The delay before the female gamers got on board was excruciating. A few of you have commented now, but during the initial silence there was a part of me that was thinking: "Oh God... Is she right? Is this really how they feel!?"
Phew, I'm glad that's cleared up!

Wrong, wrong, wrong!
This may be what you think, OP (and that's absolutely fine - would be a boring world if we all liked the same things) - but pretty please, don't talk for ALL female gamers out there.
I for one am female and I never play a human if I have the choice - the alien the better (in fact, I would have loved to play a turian myself - not just romance one
And for the "ugly" thing .... the first thing I thought when meeting Garrus for the first time was something along "Whoa! Sexy! Wanna have!" (Yes - my boyfriend went
And yes, this is just my personal opinion - just wanted to point out that you should not speak for us all if do not know us all (which you obviously don't).

You can laugh or flame all you want, but I choose to not continue playing a game that greatly cripples the fun factor for me. Why play a game if its no longer fun?
Have you ever face Asari Commando Unit before. Very few humans have. I make this perfectly clear. If you don't retract from that statement about how ugly we are I will fry you with my mind. What ever solid matter left after I fried you, will barely fill a tea cup.
I got news for you sister, the galaxy is a dark and ugly place to be in and there no room for babie dolls.
