On the other she does ahve a point, why can't an alien lead the Salarians? My guess: the other two are Alliance officers, so The STG wants to follow Alliance hierarchy since you are a Spectre but mainly an Alliance Officer.

I thought it was because they are the only actual trained military on your team. They wouldn't use Wrex, because he's super angry (assuming you let him live). Garrus is merely an ex-C-Sec cop (granted, a damned good one), Tali is a young Quarian on piligrimage, and Liara is a scientist. Of those, Garrus might come the closest to being useful as he's had formal weapons training. However, he has not had any formal training in military tactics.

Both Ashley and Kaiden have, so they are the obvious choice. They will both know how to operate best under the requirements of the mission.

thread resurrection ftl?

Anyway no offence to the OP, but I almost died of laughter after reading the "good thing I wont buy ME2" comment. This game is a space sci-fi game. There are going to be aliens hahahaha.

Btw ME2 is an absolutely fantastic game.

1. I dont like playing ugly characters. I'm sorry if all you macho men out there think ugly is better, but news flash. Girls do play games. And we tend not to like playing things with tentacles or blue and green skin.

2. Ashley and Kaiden have been my squad since Eden Prime. Aside from hating ugly characers, i do like to roleplay with them. Originally, that was the whole point of *roleplaying games*, wasn't it?
Kaiden is my romance interest, and Ashley is like my best friend. The fact that bioware gives you NO option to talk you way out of sending either of them with the salarians, and NO option of avoiding the scene alltogether kind of destroys the RP sense of the game for me. There's no way my character would ever sacrifice one of her closest friends to a suicide mission.

I don't care if you can have a squad of 10 humans in Mass Effect 2, I'm talking about 1 here. And I choose not to continue playing without my ALL 3 of my favorite characters.

You can laugh or flame all you want, but I choose to not continue playing a game that greatly cripples the fun factor for me. Why play a game if its no longer fun?

Oh my god you are a girl and you play games? This is so amazing!  ¬¬

DONT BE RIDICULOUS, I KNOW HUNDREDS OF GIRLS THAT ARE GAMERS.

You can't save both, that's why the game is deep. that is the most difficult desicion on the game. (on ME1)
For me it was hard too to save one of the two. I just saved Ashley (from wich i regret) because she was my Love Interest (now its liara).

So, think about it a bit, the game it's about an interstellar war and its an space opera, not about making relationships on the space, you are in middle of a war and in war, horrible things happen.

War sucks. ;)
good luck playing mass effect and dont throw away this incredible game :D

Ouch. I didn't even notice that when I replied. Just saw it on the top of the forum, so it wasn't me bringing this one back from the dead.:bandit::mellow::innocent:

Heh... don't even know if the person I replied to is even still around or if that is even still a running question. My bad.

I bet OP left the community because of the death of one squad member :P

I think the OP was one of those people who played "Dress up Dolly" for most of their formative years, and never played a game or sport which had a distinct win/lose scenario.

Did she swear never to go see another movie by a particular movie studio, just because someone she thought was "hot" dies in a previous movie? Or never read another book because an author decided that one of the characters in a previous book had to die?

My sig says it all for these type of people.

I'm curious about how she made her account back in april of last year, well after DAO ME1 and ME2 all came out and is only just now figuring out that you can't save both Ashley and Kaidan.

OP posted 9 months ago. Someone necro'd the thread and the argument began anew.

Yes, there's not much point arguing with someone who left 9 months ago, so locking...
