 i have no clue what happened but last night my items were in the chest and this morning it was all gone all 50 hours worth of equipment was gone i was on the landsmeet and i sold no item in the game because i just put them in the chest and i sell them at the end after i sort it all out but when i went to do it all the items were gone                            could someone please help me

Believe it or not, you've already answered your own question.

Then look through the thread located 2 spots below it in this same forum (they're all here in the 360 support section on page 1) and you can get the more technical details. Page 10 is where all the good hoofwork was done by lavafrog22.

Essentially, the answer is that all merchants, storage, etc. etc. have a max number of item slots (even though the game never tells or you or prevents you from going over) and if you go over said "max", you either lose all the items or permanently corrupt your saves.

When did this bug appear you might ask? Well, it's existed since the day the game was released nearly 5 months ago. What have they done? Don't ask that one....

O_o thanks i saw that thread but did not know that applied to the chest as well and i now feel stupid for not thinking that and not selling anything but all the same thank you very much

Not your fault, you didn't program the game.

Make sure to spread the crap you have all over Ferelden. I try to split it up between the chest, Bodahn, and Levi so at least I can access it all fairly quickly.
