[Zardax_the_Magnificent]

When I go out and scan a planet, I get a message saying that I now have enough for a certain ship upgrade, but when I get back to the ship, and try to do the upgrades it only seems to recognize the metals that I've found while on missions, in boxes etc.  I don't seem to be able to make use of the metals I've mined from the scans.  How do I get these?
