I can't wait until someone (like Dennis Lee) gets his hands on the code and make the combat mechanics balanced.

I really hope Bioware gives modders access to it, though it doesn't seem like that's even on their minds at this point.

From what I have heard and read about Awakening I doubt I will ever buy it. It's to bad because I really like DAO.

Maybe make an own opinion instead?

Personally I don't give a rats ass about forum whiners that "awakening did not change my life nor improve my sex life"

I bought it, enjoyed it. If you will enjoy it I have no clue, but don't let others decide if you should like it or not!

p.s. I did not stumble into any bugs in my awakening experience

I bought it .... but wish I didn't.

I am so disappointed that I don't trust Bioware anymore from now on.

No it isn't MadCat. In addition to having the bugs, the toolset has not yet been updated. So not only is Awakening gimped, the modders can't even fix it because the toolset is not up to par as well. Shame, really.

Right, because Bioware/EA cares what you think, AFTER you've already given them your $$$. :bandit:

Well damn, guess Awakening is moving even further on the back burner, shame. Hopefully it'll be worth picking up sometime before DA2 comes out.

This... and my decision is based not on forum posts but the things EA/BW them self have advertised. Maybe should not jump to conclusions on what information people build there opinions on.

It's true that the forums aren't representative of the majority's opinion, and whining can be a way of life for some, but more than one source has confirmed my misgivings concerning Awakening.

That, and Bioware's disastrous PR spin *and* its mum support, has left me rather unwilling to give them the benefit of doubt.

Not until there's a patch and a price drop, thanks. I try not to pay for malware lol =D

I'll probably buy it once they release a patch and once the price goes down 50% at least...so I might not buy it ever.

I bought it for my PC and my gf's XBox. $80 very well spent. We each have multiple characters, so we're looking at like 100 hours of game play over the next few months. Good stuff!

Like most people I'm waiting on a price drop (by $10 at least) and a patch to fix all these bugs I've read about. Though I am looking forward to it, it keeps getting pushed back due to (other than what I've already mentioned) awesome games coming out.

Can't wait to get me some Red Dead Redemption action! Huzzah!

I was lucky, in that I only had to pay £15 for it off Amazon, so I didn't have to pay too much for a semi-functional game. Beyond that, though, my biggest complaint is the bugs, and lack of updates to the toolset. As well as lack of patches. I can understand why alot of people are pissed. They paid a good chunk of ch\\ange for a game that doesn't function properly and was perhaps rushed.

If they can't be bothered to patch it, then at least update the toolset so the community can do so.

Not asking this to gloat or to revel in dissatisfacted misery. I just happen to be extremely disappointed with what I've read, heard and seen about Awakening, decided not to purchase it for now, and doubt that I will in the future. Not complaining about the price (Europe), but the bugs, the glitches, the narrative disconnect, the butchered conversation system... *sigh*

Loved Origins to bits, but let's just say that if it was this century's Baldur's Gate, Awakening sure
doesn't look like no Tales of the Sword Coast. How many here feel the same and haven't bought the game? Just curious.

You can say that again. It looks like Bioware seriously dropped the ball storywise, I don't get into mmo-style crafting, and their combat system is lackluster. I haven't bought the expansion, and have no plans to do so. Instead, I'm keeping an eye on other upcoming releases, like Witcher 2.

Luckily I was playing mass effect 2 when these shenanigans about DA dropped. I'm also going to wait, though I'd love to find out what my character is up to in Awakenings.

OK, it appears as if we are not going have any fun playing DA Awakening. I would like to find out, however. I downloaded DA Awakening to the XP admin account where I installed DA Origins. We never had any trouble (except for bug guts about the screen) playing the game in my user account or my husband's. We had to logged in to my Bioware account then all the DLC showed up and we played no problem.

No matter what I do, I can not get DA Awakening to show up in another user account. Can anyone tell me if there is a magic spell I am not aware of. Thank you and I hope everyone is well.

I bought it thinking it couldn't be that bad.  I haven't adored every expansion Bioware has put out, but in the end I at least liked them.  This one...not so much.

I don't say the above to complain so much as to state the following: last blind purchase of a DLC or expansion from Bioware.  Their base games have been great at worst, but their side projects have been decent at best, even when considering the fact that they are just side projects.  Not blaming EA either as this has been the case since the first ME DLC.  This company simply needs to strengthen its focus when it comes to these short side stories.  My suggestion, in case a dev is reading?  Greater focus on plot instead of simply gameplay.  That's what keeps most of us replaying.  In most DLC it is simply lacking.  In this expansion it was stretched far too thin for anything to be possibly given the proper attention.

Amen to that. Plot, storyline and character development is where Bioware shines. Gameplay-wise - they seriously need to ditch their engine and rebuild from the ground up.

I don't plan on getting Awakening, too many glitches being a primary reason. (Ps3 DA player btw)

I won't buy it until the PSN puts the price down.

Sorry Bioware, I love the original game, and I do really want to play Awakening, but I can't justify spending £32 on a goddamn expansion pack.
