Which do you think would be the better crowd control option for a crowd control Soldier? Squad Cryo would free me from using cooldown times on flashbangs so that I could use AR more but flashbangs are pretty awesome. They overheat weapons and have a huge AOE.

i like flashbang.. more reliable form of CC. cryo only works on red bar.

I'd go with the flashbang. I tried using the inferno grenade on my soilder but it doesn't seem that reliable, the flashbang has a greater range i think.

Squad Cryo Ammo, because it does not waste your cooldown; when it's activated it's ative all the time. Adrenaline Rush > Flashbang.

^^^I agree with that. Flashbang is best used by Kasumi for Soldier. The only class I would get Flashbang on is Engineer and maybe Sentinel (although probably not). I can see if being fun to use though.

^^ both are useful in different situations though. To just spam AR sometimes do get you in a tight spot. Plus if you are good with it you can save your teammates who are about to die too. Also, having another ammo power is rather redundant. Cryo Freezes enemies who on red bar.. Max inferno ammo will also CC enemies (running around being burnt :D) and its good on armor.

Also Flash Bang has a HUGE 9m radius.. you dont even need to be surgical with it. :D

Edit: Did i mention it goes through defences? ie enemy dont need to be on the red bar?

Take both ditch concussive shot, flashbang is much better & can take down bigger groups of husks at once:ph34r:

Havnt tested it myself, but does flashbang ignore shields and armor (hardcore/insanity)?.

If so then i might pick it up as my next skill in my next game.

I prefer squad cyro. I hate using flashbang myself. Not very accurate. Now a party with Kasumi and her flashbang and Miranda is absolutely deadly with a soldier on insanity.

i use neither if i want good CC get  reave and upgrade it to area reave, and laugh while you riddle your targets as they are immoblized or stunned, also you are  getting a nice health boost in the process

Helps with inferno ammo as well

But if the enemies have defences Reave does noting but damage...

Flash bang however, will stun/knock down opponents who still have defences out... with its 9M radius.. its 3 times larger than highest lvl reave. All you need to learn is how to throw it.

I wish I could take both but as it is I need to dump two skills. Concussive Shot is out for sure. Since you need to unlock Incendiary with Disruptor and Cryo with Incendiary that means the other skill I have to drop will need to be Cryo if I want Flashbangs.

If you took flashbang and kept Concussive you could have one hell of a grenadier

Why Engineer and Sentinel but not Soldier?

It works really well with an Engineer.

I skipped AI Hacking and Cryo Blast Entirely, and I upgraded to Frag Grenade. Now my Engineer is a walking demolition derby

You seem to get better bang for the buck using flashbang with kasumi on a soldier, and saving your cooldown for the adrenaline rush. Using your own flashbang is too slow, inaccurate and if it's too close to you, it blinds you a little. However its no problem when kasumi is using it. I like alternating between reave and energy drain.

Think of this senario. Say you're fighting armored or barrier troops and there four guys behind a position. Miranda warps one guys armor off, you reave the other, Kasumi flashbangs (Or you can wait until you're cooldown and storm in with the adrenaline rush to take less damage before you flashbang), and two guys are down for the count and the other 2 have their weapons jammed. Storm in the revenant point blank with inferno arounds and spray the other two and they panic. You should finish those two off really quickly and the other two would still most likely be down for the count and you can just butcher them.

If you're fighting shielded enemies then just use energy drain and miranda's overload to achieve the same thing. Geth; disruptor instead of inferno.  Kasumi turns the soldier with the revenant, a storming killing machine on insanity. Totally the best class now for owning anything up close and personal.

Soldier benefits the most from Squad Cryo - it's the class that most wants support from active power-heavy squadmates without ammo powers, and has such a universally good active class power.  Of the 6 classes Soldier probably benefits the least from taking Flashbang.

I don't think it's relevant for Infiltrators (where you're already in a 'choose 2 of 3' situation with Incineration Blast, Tungsten Ammo, and Squad Cryo).  Sentinels and Vanguards are in a similar position where you can easily spend all your points on core class powers; you're giving up max throw and another class power on Sentinel, or declining Squad Cryo or Pull on the Vanguard - you can do it, but Flashbang isn't really an all star.

Engineer and Adept benefit the most (though Adept really likes Energy Drain); they have the points to burn and don't necessarily want to mash on their class powers like the other classes - though they already have a lot powers competing for that cooldown.

Because Kasumi will be in my squad, I'm sticking with squad cryo. Kasumi can handle the FB's.

Do you think it's worth skipping Cryo Blast on an Engineer to get Flashbang? I've already got an Engineer made and honestly, I'm just trying to find the class most compatable with this ability because I think it's really cool.

Cryo is an excellent ability. But Flashbang can replace it if you want a heavier hitting Engineer.

Same here. I tried it on a rerolled Sentinel but found myself missing Energy Drain but it synergized so well with my Engineer. Soldier power set needs no substitute, but I feel that Kasumi plays so well when paired with one.
