Best freaking news I have heard all day. Can't wait for this game, considering it will be made for consoles and ported to PC!

Am I right in thinking it's a LoTR game? Just Googled it. Have any LoTR games been good so far?

LoTR War of the North is an RPG for consoles. Good news is that it is being made for consoles and ported to PC (I think). Not sure how good it will be, haven't seen any in-game walkthroughs. But hell, its not that hard to make a better RPG than DA:O considering all of the bugs....still an RPG with online and couch co-op is a step in the right direction IMO.

't Is indeed a LotR game, and better yet, based on the books as well as PJ's epic motion picture trilogy. I'm really looking forward to it, or at least hearing more from it.. even though I'll have to play the port.

LotR games have definitely been good in a lot of genres, they're just starting to get a bit dated. A little bit.

While it is becoming dated, I've yet to come across a decent RPG version of the story that isn't a made for PC only MMO. Will be interesting to follow this one and see how they are going to utilize classes and builds.

I've said this before and I will say it again. This game is being developed by the same chumps that made Justice League Heroes. That game was terrible. Anyone who thinks that this quick money  grab of a game is going to be good, needs to be trout slapped. It's going to be another subpar 4 player beat em up. It's a compeltly different genre of game then DA.

That is incorrect. Have you even bothered to go to the website to at least make sure you know what you are talking about. This game is a RPG. Again, it is a RPG with online co-op. There is a story, quests, classes, builds, attributes etc. The whole nine yards. It is not another "four player beat 'em up". It is being made as a RPG from the ground up for consoles. It is no different to DA:O except maybe WB will have better Q&A so there will be less bugs and it will not be a PC to console port. So in fact, it will most probably be better than DA:O. Which considering all of the bugs will not be hard.

Correction. It will be a three player beat-em up. Look at their past games. Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance,  Champions and Justice League. All three were action RPG's. Then read what has been said about War Of The North, action RPG. It's going to be another crappy action game with RPG elements tacked on, once again. You can hate on Dragon Age all you want but when you try to use a game made by Snowblind Studios as a dig, you just make yourself look foolish. Every single game that they have made has been subpar and of no real consequnce. War of the North wont even be a blip on the radar when it gets released. At least use a good devloperand a better game  when you try to troll.

Talk about hating on something.

Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliance: Metacritic has an average score of 87% based on 29 reviews for the PlayStation 2 version and the Xbox version received an average score of 83% based on 25 reviews.

Champions of Norrath: Metacritic has an average score of 85% based on 51 reviews.

Champions Return to Arms: Metacritic has an average score of 77% based on 48 reviews.

To put this in perspective:

Dragon Age Origin for Xbox 360: Metacritic has an average score of 86% based on 67 reviews.

Dragon Age Awakenings for Xbox 360: Metacritic has an average score of 79% based on 21 reviews.

Am I trying to say Snowblind has as good a record as Bioware? Not at all. Has Snowblind made some stinkers? Sure, most game companies have. You can hate on Snowblind all you want because of Justice League, but when you try and make a blanket statement like “every single game they have made has been subpar and of no real consequnce (?)” you only make yourself look foolish. At least use better supported evidence than your own opinion when you try to troll.

Isn't the Xbox360 tech support forum something of an odd place to post about a game that has nothing in common with DA:O except they're both "RPG"s?

It is an odd place to post this but I dont see why it hurts anything. It currently serves just as much purpose as thread after thread of truly valid complaints about bugs that STILL have not been taken care of by Bioware.

I love Dragon Age as much as the next guy but I am getting frustrated waiting for a fix and news of other potentially good games is interesting IMO.

BG: Dark Alliance 1 + 2 were decent games IMO. Hardly the colossal failure some think. They were very much RPGs. Just because the game is an action RPG and not a tactical RPG does not somehow remove ALL the clear RPG elements contained therein. It played somewhat like Diablo but with a D&D feel. Plenty of emphasis on the RPG elements thank you.

Hmm... So the talents, skills, attribute points, quests and story make this game a "beat em up". Sounds like a RPG to me. If we go by your definition than DA:O is a single player "beat 'em up". More over, it is a sub-par one due to all of the game breaking bugs! Again, have you even bothered to look at the forums, or do you make a habit of speaking out of your ass?

The developers have clearly stated on the forums that this game will be a departure from previous attempts. If you want to be sematic about this then yes the game is an APRG, but it still is vastly different to the "beat em ups" that the developers have made in the past. Specifically, the new game has clear character progressions and builds. It has a story-line and decsions made will impact on the game. There are classes, talents and skills. None of which were developed as fully in previous games.

You're welcome to troll all you want, but the facts speak for themselves. Just to clarify. I think DA:O is a good game, the problem is all of the bugs and for me that is what makes it sub-par. If I didn't like the game itself I would be long gone.

Don't worry. It has been confrimed by the developers that it will be released across all platforms, including PC. However, it will be a console to PC port from what information I have been about to glean from the site.

Too little info to tell yet. But i'd like a decent lotr RPG - the world/characters/story just cries out for it. Hell i wouldn't be upset if it was simply Oblivion with lotr stuff in it. When it comes to lotr, i'm easily satisfied!
