Oh geez, my husband is reading that series right now.  I swear there's like 100 books in the series, and everywhere I turn in my house there's one lying around.  DO NOT LIKE!!

Lmao have you read the series yourself Mel.  I admit the middle of the series kind of lags abut it does get better especially the closer it's getting to the end.  By the time the series is finished there will be a total of 14 books, right now there's 12 with the 13th coming out this fall I believe lol.

cme - The dagger is from the Artemis Entreri Package. I also use the armor from there sometimes. One version even carried over to awakening, so I was happy with that!

Just general Alistair hating your PC.  I chose every bad option and he loathed me halfway through redcliffe.

Yeah, here's a video www.youtube.com/watch

He basically says you're an embarrassment to the Grey Wardens and if he didn't need to be there, he would leave.

Yes, I've seen that Ali rage vid, it's pretty hysterical, actually. But I really hate getting him upset :crying:

Edit:  PC: (To Ali): "Go and fall on something sharp! I don't care what you think" :lol::lol:
PC: "Being A Grey Warden means nothing to me" :lol::lol:

Alistair's reactions are just priceless. Gotta love it !

Now, you must understand, I used to love those books.  *points to screenname*  I used the nick Moiraine for fansubbing and have used other nicks that end in "Sedai".  But I couldn't take it anymore.  I can't bring myself to finish 11.  :/

*glares at Rand*  Just you wait until I get out of this tower.  *is gonna slap that boy so hard*

Lmao what did he do?  How can you not feel for the poor guy knowing everything he's gone through and still has to go through.  I'd hate that, being born for one purpose only and that's to destroy the world and defeat the Dark One, knowing your gonna die at the end of the battle.
You should really finish 11 n then read 12.  He does a complete turn around in the end.

B/c he got stupid.  I was really sympathetic until, what, book 8, 9?  And then, not so much.  When Moiraine gets back she is going to kick his ass.  In truth, I've come to loath most of the characters.  RJ actually had pretty ******-poor character development, and his characters are all cookie cutter.  Could we meet one feaking woman who doesn't have a superiority complex?  Please?  Just one?

I cannot finish book 11.  In over 3 years, I haven't picked it up since I put it down.  And for someone with a compulsive need to finish books asap, that says a lot.

Well ya I'd like to smack the shyt out of him too, give him a wake up call but I still feel for him and he actually gets a wake up call at the end of 12.
But anyways this is Alistair's thread, I apologize for taking it off track Posted Image

Hrm. No, that does trigger as hardened Alistair. And it sort of directly conflicts with the previous statement of learning to art of governance and all that. *sighs* Is it too much to ask for a little consistancy?

Edit:  Hrm, reviewing it again, I think the point is to let the PC continue to have a fairly large role, and show Alistair's willingness to trust the PC's judgement.  *frowns*

*slinks back into thread, looking sheepish*

I can just see Steve Valentine quitting voice acting to open up a shop called "Cheesy Does It" and spent his days dancing around to that one song by Paul Simmon whilst serving cheese to the general public. I apologize in advance if my tweet has brought about the end of Alistair as we know it. D:

It is perfectly consistent with his character.
He is not made to be king, in my humble opinion.

Lol yep, I just did this for shyts n giggles like I said just to see what would happen n was a little surprised lmao.

I'll tell you one thing though, big difference playing Awakenings.  You would never know that this took place with Alistair.  It's almost like he's cold, like he's refering to his top advisor as if he never existed lol.  Except for 1 line when I mention him rejoining the Wardens, "Toss the throne aside, spend my time adventuring at your side just like old times?  Very tempting."

Definitely prefer the female romance version in Awakenings

You don't see it as inconsistent that one minute he is learning to rule and being fair and even-handed, and the next he's all 'lol, bye'?

He's good as the face of PR while Anora deals with the messy side of ruling, mind, and keeps her pragmatism in check.

The Mary Sue PC strikes again.

In the Warden Commander dialogues, he does say, "I didn't want to be king, but now I do.  And I want to be a good king."

No. He will only learn by necessity, but if he has someone to make the decisions for him, he will defer. Because at heart, he is not and never was a leader nor ruler material and would rather have someone do this for him.

That's why I was shocked when I read that, cause one minute he's learning how to govern n the very next card he's leaving it to me.  Weird but ok,  hey I see it as this, it's his way of paying me back for making him King lol.  He did ask me to stay, even said I owed him.  Damn you Alistair n you making me feel guilty lmao.

Edit: Top of page again
