KoP, what do you do? I have never done anything but the tower.
Sacrifice Isolde, as she is a willing participant. That's Arcturus' choice.
Dain Aeducan was not going to risk his mage by sending heron a fool quest in the Fade, nor did he trust Jowan, so he killed Connor.
I base Arcturus on myself, so I would go with his decision. But he knows it's a risk.
I pretty much sacrifice Isolde every time. The only exceptions being Aidan, since she destroyed the mages, or if I'm playing a mage.

Cmessaz, if you go to redcliff before you go to the tower, then it really makes 0 sense for you to pick the 3rd option, as there are rumors all over the place that the Circle is in unrest.
So you are pretty mucbh backed into a cornor between killing Isolde or killing Connor. Pretend that the 3rd option does not exist and choose.

Celeste, the mage I just deleted, is the only mage I had that sacrificed Isolde. She didn't abhor blood magic, after what Duncan told her (basically that the gray wardens do whatever it takes). The templar in Lothering had told her the tower was at risk of annulment, so she figured THEY wouldn't be any help at all. And Jowan was right there offering to do the ritual with a willing Isolde. Her thinking was...Jowan wouldn't risk hurting HER, and she knows the fade. Taking time to walk to the tower and risk getting no help anyhow, was more time Redcliffe was at risk of being attacked again.

I don't like the tower option mostly because even though the game *implies* that there is a risk because the trip is going to take more time, the game conveniently never implies that many more innocent people are going to die because I wouldn't make the choice. Some of the dead lying on the beach could be yours.

It does...it takes TIME to travel there, time that the demon has to wreak more havoc. It takes even MORE time to clean out the tower to even GET the assistance you need. So, the consequence is...you COULD be leaving the village to get destroyed.

If I was making the game, you would have a sensible reason for torching the town, like taking the castle when the ghouls are out, or making Eamon optional.
And then having it burned to the ground.
And that is why I like Redcliffe the least of the five main places.

agreed. BTW I usually sacrifice Isolde now, killing Connor was like pulling teeth without Novacaine. I had to get her to do it (Figured it wasn't the kid's fault as he was caught up in an adult situation not his making and would be kinder to him to let his mom do it) and I still didn't get the damn epilogue slide.
I even got a whacked out conversation with Eamon at the end asking me if I noticed anything strange aboiut Connor. There was no option for me to

I generally go with Connor kill merely because it's most straightforward -- killing Isolde doesn't guarantee you'd be able to force the demon back, it merely gives you chance to try. On the other hand removing Connor guarantees the demon will be gone.sylvanaerie wrote...

There's couple more aspects to it too -- losing the kid is awful but with Isolde still alive (and also being someone Eamon supposedly loves dearly) they can have more kids. And if you're feeling mean, then letting Isolde live with the knowledge all she did was for nothing is worse fate for her imo than just letting her die.
