You still suck.

I just suck a geography. I bet if I had a dictionary, I could understand your native language.

Dammit Herr! I'm a Linguist, not a Geographer!

I'm a renaissance man!

I need not you petty definitions of areas of competence, I'm about as incompetent in all of them.

It seems pretty basic.  I don't know why people get hung up on this as though it is somehow OOC for Morrigan to learn basic healing or even spirit healing.  A battle mage should know how to heal, if only to heal him/herself.  Otherwise you need to go back to mage school.  :)

So, would it be wrong to respec Morrigan as a spirit healer so I can tell Wynne to ****** off?

Just respec her back at some later point and she can pretend it was all a bad dream.

I am going to be a shapeshifter, plus I never have her use her shapeshift abilities anyway. I never really take her anywhere usually, and I want to this time around.

Spirit healing is OOC when we see how Morrigan deals with spirits throughout the game.

But then again, I think it's OOC to spec Sten or Oghren as templars too. Or Zevran as a ranger. And Wynne/Morrigan as AW. Or Wynne as Bloodmage or shapeshifter.

I could make the list longer, but I shan't.

Once I discovered the myriad of nifty ways you can dispatch enemies quickly, effectively, and gruesomely, healer became pretty redundant. Even moreso when I specced my mage as AW/SH and mastered the spirit school (i.e. Mana Clash).

In that playthrough, Wynne toasted marshmallows by the campfire.

Only get her the first spell, and the first row of healing talents, then set her tactics to support. She kicks butt.

I think both Morrigan and Wynne will be doing that when I get to my mages. My Human mage witll be likely spirit healer/arcane warrior (eventually battle mage) and my elf is Blood Mage/Arcane Warrior. I should in fact drag Wynne along so she can be annoyed by healing me.

I dunno...speccing Sten with templar (in otherwords, training him in the practical use of templar talents) actually suits him, given the qunari opinion of mages. I usually pick in-character specs for companions in both most playthroughs.

And Sten looks rather studly in a purple dress under all that plate.

I figure the Warden can command her troops to learn whatever they have aptitude to learn.  And there's no reason Zevran could not have learned ranger skill from his time with the Dalish or from a wandering wizard.

I prefer to use mages for control and damage, too.  The basic heal spell, especially with two mages, is pretty useful.  I set Morrigan's tactics to heal ally at 75% health and everyone to take a potion at 50%.  Heal has a quick cooldown, so this works pretty efficiently.  If Morrigan falls behind, the peeps drink a pot.  There are just the odd occasions when I wish I had that Revival spell.

You know, I've never actually used Morrigan all that much, especially at higher levels. I should fix that. Any recommendations as to how to spec her out?

Well I would love to use mana clash but sadly that means CTD about 75 percent of the time. :(

Spirit healer/arcane warrior/battlemage were what I specced my primeary canon mage, also human. It's an awesome trio.

I brought Morrigan alot with her, either her or Oghren filled that slot most of the time, with Alistair and Zevran being permanent fixtures on the other two. Morrigan was especially badass in that playthrough, because we could team up and pull Storm of the Century on mobs. Glorious.

Even more so with Morrigan's hexes and curses, which along with spell might, gave me the heavy hitter achievement with my mage because the damage i was doing was insane.

Depending on how you build your mage, Morrigan makes an awesome other half of a mage duo. The other party members become purely decorative.

About Spirit Healer...
Becoming a spirit healer, however, is no simple matter. To gain the services of such benevolent and righteous beings requires that the mage earn their trust.

She basically says **** off to all spirits that she meets. She is clearly against consorting with spirits, be they benevolent or demons.

The only time I use Wynne is for heavy duty boss battles where I'm probably gonna need some rezzing and mass healing. Except if my mage has Spirit healer. But then, in nightmare, it becomes handy to have two with the ability to rez, especially if one rezzer happens to be doing insane damage.

She has an excellent starting lineup.  Just fill out her hex, cold, and horror lines.  The other things I give her depend on who my PC is.  Paralysis if I have a PC rogue.  Glyphs if I have a mage, since I then use Morri as buff/hex mage to my DPS mage.  I usually make her a blood mage.

Take Cone of Cold at her first level up, Force Field at her second.  From there  you have plenty of options.

I usually max her frost/lightning trees and go for spell might for SoTC.    Misdirection hex is also a huge plus (makes tanking heavy hitters like Cauthrien a breeze).

If you run a melee heavy party you may want to get Telekenetic Weapons and Death Hex.  Pretty straight forward I'd say. :)

I can think of her telling the Guardian off, but that's because he was up in her business.  What other spirits do we encounter?

Lock Bash mod FTW.  It's also really sexy to have Alistair smash a chest to bits.
