What kind of dog is this? It looke like a basset/german shorthair pointer....

You're close. He's my darling (piebald) Dachshund, Oliver. We also have a gorgeous red female, Gretchen.

Posted Image

They're both lovely! I've never seen a dachshund with Oliver's markings--very fine!

Yes, the piebalds are not very common. We had to fly down to Georgia to pick him up from a breeder that breeds piebald Dachshunds. He's an awesome pup <3

Are they standard or miniature?

And so begins a new Fereldan love story...

And stacks of fanfiction.

So what is the complaint about AMWT?  I've only skimmed parts of both, but SurelyForth's always seemed better to me anyway.  I think I like her Cousland better.

Klara said the PC Cousland's secret love that she almost married turned out to be Ser Perrin.  Like I said I stopped reading it at Chapter 16.  It wasn't done, I didn't like that Fergus married Anora of all freaking people and had three rugrats with her in 8 years and that it seemed like Alistair was barely back, they hadn't really talked about anything and already were hitting the sack with little character development/lead up. (I believe 17 was a M rated chapter?)

Is that a Anderstairiel?

Cathcing up in one post:
I agree about AMWT.  I was SO good in the beginning, and they they did chapter after chapter of "Teaching Alistair how to dance!", "Dressing Alistair in fine clothes!", "Alistair suprises everyone and sings!!" Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image......
A tip fo FF writers: Don't go the way of 80% of fics out there, and take your character that is only used to fighting, travelling, etc., and stick them in situations where they have to dress up, dance, or some other ridiculous scenario.  It is overdone, boring, and ruins a good story!  You know what would happen if th PC or Alistair had to dress up?  NOTHING!  At most, they'd be uncomfortable, that's what.  Not worthy of a whole dang chapter!!!  /rant.

On another topic, as one of Nathaniel's biggest fans, I had to add: Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImageNathanielPosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Sounds like As The Highever Turns or something.  LOL  Who is Ser Perrin?

That is a Maricstair!  You haven't cottoned on to the Maricstair wars about the thread?  Just wait til yuki gets back on, you'll see.  I don't even notice the difference anymore, it's just Alistair to me.  On the very odd occasion I get nostalgia looking at a Vanillastair shot.

He's an OC, a knight in Highever.  But now he's got something going on with PC Cousland's maid....it's all getting to be a bit much.

some knight in Highever. I think his father died in the slaughter that prompted the PC's leaving with Duncan? I don't really remember, my brain was still trying to accept the Fergus/Anora pairing and I kind of wasn't really paying attention. I could have him mixed up with someone else even.

I've been around for the Maricstair wars.  But I agree with Yuki....NO WANT!

With that armor, along with the hair, he looks like a Nathanstair!

To each her own.  I'm never going back.  Posted Image

A Nathaniel resemblance- though I don't see it- could not be a bad thing.  I do like Nathaniel a lot in the Shadow armor, hence why I'm sad I didn't get it working in my current game so I don't have a set for him.

Previous elf mage, haunted by a Shadow Nathaniel.

All this talk about AMWT is making me super nervous about my latest updates to Undertow. There's a reason for and more to all the romancey bits, I swear!

The idea of nice Fergus with AnPosted Imagera does kind of put a damper on it all from the get-go.

Surely don't be afraid!  Romancey bits are good!!  I won't read a fanfic unless there are romancey bits!  Undertow has been nothing but fantastic.  But if your write a whole chapter about dressing up, warn me so I can skip it Posted Image

Thanks! If I do any weird side stories about dances or state functions, I'll be sure to rate it M for "Mel, don't read this. It's terrible."

You know what will help? Hitting ESC once the ritual cutscene starts.

Well, it's not pretty, but you just have to imagine a walking corpse tearing a child limb from limb and realize the alternative could be bad, too.  And that as a mage, you are risking your life for the ritual, too, so there is pain all around.

I'm no expert, but romance is good.  I mean, here we are slobbering over a David Gaider romance, aren't we?

Yes I am going to do this. I always say that and then chicken out, but not this time dangit. Why the heck does this freak me out so much?

Addai- good point.

De-lurking to wholeheartedly agree with this statement.
As you were.

I agree too with this, especially playing as a female nobel warden.  It would be interesting and probaly start off as bittersweet, especially with the whole she killed your dad but he deserved it thing going on.  In my opinion, he has pontential to be a good subsitute if we no longer have Alistair Posted Image

Maybe I'm nuts but I see them set up as possible romances down the road. They were done too obviously not to be. THe each seem to mimic roles our old companions had. Not personality wise maybe but  options wise. Velanna- The Morrigan, Sigrun maybe the Leleiana, Anders- Zevran, Nathaniel-Alistair

I don't see this.  Morrigan =/ Velanna.  So not.  And Sigrun is sooo not Leliana.  Eww, don't even say that or I won't be able to take Sigrun with me and I actually like her.  LOL

I prefer to see the Awakening peeps on their own terms.  And it's not like my Warden is going to ditch her Origins LI anyway.  Maybe if you had an Orlesian Warden, but I don't want to play an Orlesian.
