Especially if you consider Morrigan's attitude towards them, as we were discussing in another context last night. Why people believe she wants to have a demon baby is beyond me. I guess because that's what Alistair calls it, but he's being facetious and anyway what does he know.Lady Jess wrote...

Of course, I also don't believe the child is a demon.

Meh, I'm master of the landsmeet. Last time I even brought up Cailan and still got the win. I just make that little snake Anora think she's getting her way.

I lose it about half the time. I'm not sure you can lose it if Anora sides with you. It's more fun to lose.Sarah1281 wrote...

Either tell Anora no, or instead of bringing up valid points at the landsmeet focus on Ostagar and Alistair being the rightful heir. Or forget to talk to Bann Sighard and Alfstanna after the rescue the queen quest.

Well, not yet, but since half the reason he breaks up with you and the only reason he breaks up with a HN is the heir issue you know he's going to get married at some point and try for kids. Then the relationship either ends or you are the other woman.Lady Jess wrote...

I don't think the Alistair romance is much better. If he's king, most PCs will get dumped, with an option to be a mistress. The HNFs are the only ones that can have a "legitimate" relationship post AD. If he's not king, you can have the happily ever after....but at what cost. No matter the options, the only reason neither of you are dead is because the lov of you life slept with another woman and his demon spawn is running around somewhere. I wouldn't exaclty call that a happy ending.

One time I did forget to talk to them because I was doing my DC in a romance with him so I could get the dumping scene but then I wanted to see him declare himself King so I loaded from a save right before the Landsmeet and broke up with him (because he didn't do it when I did the exact same thing in a relationship with him) but I forgot to talk to either of them. Sighard still claimed I was telling the truth as he heard what happened from his son but Alfstanna didn't know about her brother.Lady Jess wrote...

Oh yes. I loved setting an Inferno in the middle of the LM chamber and throwing a Crushing Prison on Loghain, not to mention getting to fight with Alfstanna and Bry-Bry.AnniLau wrote...
I lost on purpose last time. Chasing Loghain through the hall was fun.
Plus it's much more satisfying to see Anora turn on you and Loghain's ruthless efficiency come out. Puts it into perspective for those who feel badly about how things go down if the tables are turned.

I agree to a certain extent Jess. the problem is we have no idea what the child is. And not having that knowledge, it makes the decision a selfish one. "We don't know what this baby will be....could be normal, could be Flemeth, could be a dragon demon who will plague the countryside for centuries! Who knows! But we're alive for lots of sexy time, so it's cool."
Don't get me wrong....I still do it when I'm romancing Alistair. There is NO WAY I will let him take that final blow again and he dies.

Even if he marries Anora, I'd argue that is hardly a love match and both of them are going into it with their eyes open... You're his lover, his first love, you've fought together you've made history changing decisions together and you'll probably die together, why aren't you entitled to keep that arrangement?

My problem with it is that I can't look at it from the historical point of view that probably fits in better with DA. I think of it in the more modern sense where being a mistress is a bad thing and demeaning so my characters inevitably feel they're worth more than being reduced to his hot young thing on the side and so let him go after the Landsmeet.Maria13 wrote...

TBH, the whole dark ritual thing confuses me., so I may not be seeing everything. But.... Why does she want an Old God baby so bad? Why is it different? And if it's for something good, why doesn't she just tell you? I see nothing good coming out of a Morrigan/Old God baby.

^^I am guilty of this as well. Which is why a mistress PC goes running into Nathaniel's arms.

Morrigan lacks the will to care about most things enough to excite herself over them. Her primary concern is her survival. She has a difficult time relating to other people, and feels extremely vulnerable outside of the marsh. Her sense of humor is dark and twisted, and she finds the most morbid things amusing.
Her primary goal is to gain skills and knowledge and become a powerful sorceress in her own right. She believes that having a child with the PC's blood will give her access to this power.

BUT unless you put him with Anora, he isn't married, you aren't a mistress. How is being the love of a single man, even if he's king any less honorable than being someone elses girlfriend? Yes, he tries to break up with you on the basis that EVENTUALLY he thinks he'll HAVE to get married and HAVE to have a child but those are expectations, presumptions, and not in the immediate scheme of things. Clearly six months down the road he is still single, and that's what we have to work with. It's much easier if you don't add future issues that don't exist into your decision. Burn that bridge when and if you come to it.

Mod: http://social.biowar...m/project/2418/
For now, take out any Alistair mod fixes you may have from your override folder. Put the new one in (this will only trigger the first time you take him to the tent). When you're done squeeing over the scene and ready to move on, take the new mod out of your folder and put your Alistair mods back in. At some point, this will be added in to the main Alistair mod, but this is the way to go for now.
