But isn't the very point you're making that the stupidity is in the very act of not caring when one should? Why is the Warden not caring about their safety getting a free pass when they're being just as reckless and with even less reason for that than Isolde had?Kryyptehk wrote...
Yeah, but the Warden doesn't care about that. Miss "I will not lose my son to magic" should care.
Because he/she is a Warden and because they accept any help that they can get. Isolde is a hypocrit who doesn't want to send her son to the Mage's Circle because she is a devout Andrastian, but doesn't mind allowing an apostate to teach her son. And most non-magic people associate apostate with maleficarum, which the Maker is against. So maybe she isn't stupid, but she is a hypocrit. So that's just another bad point.

Hehe, you mean despite all your vitriol towards Isolde you still take the sunshine and rainbows ending? You softyKryyptehk wrote...
BTW, I want to make a point by saying I've never killed her or Connor. I always go to the Mage's Tower to ask for help.

And Lohgain is desperate for power because he feels Cailan will hand Fereldan over to the Orlesians! It's all Cailan's fault!!!
Really though you don't think Jowan is blameless do you?

I need some dismemberment shots, I usually don't take screenshots during battle...or ever really.

LOL Welcome to the dark side. Once I broke through the mental barrier and began to see it as a viable and sane way to end the madness in Redcliffe, Isolde's been on the chopping black about 50% of the time.cmessaz wrote...
I will kill her a lot more now, since I managed to do it once it will be easier. Connor on the other hand probably won't ever happen.

But Branka....I'll personally punch somebody in the face if they say she has any sort of good point.
I suck at getting action shots. I got Forced Deathblows, however, so I should get a little more practice.Kryyptehk wrote...

She does. And I don't just say that to be an ass.

Branka has a good point. *ducks*Kryyptehk wrote...
I totally am. I don't actually feel anger or anything towards her, I just refuse to believe she is a poor mother who was tricked by the ebul Loghain and apostate and that none of it is her fault. Besides Branka, nothing in this game has really angered me. But Branka....I'll personally punch somebody in the face if they say she has any sort of good point.

She does, though. The world would have ended had it not been for the Anvil. That was how they defeated the first Blight, which probably was before there were any Grey Wardens and before people realized the archdemon was resurrecting itself again and again. Without the golems, Thedas would have been toast. Now they are facing another Blight and Ferelden is without Grey Wardens. Sparing the Anvil is a completely viable "whatever it takes" choice. It makes a lot more sense than killing the Dalish or spoiling the ashes, which are just prat things to do.
I never said Isolde was without blame, though.
I think my Dalish mage will be the same. I need to try and kill Connor, but I guarantee that I'll cry.Addai67 wrote...

Sadly, Dalish mage is probably going to end up killing Connor. She doesn't trust any Circle mage, let alone Jowan, and will consider that it could end up worse than before if she doesn't do it. And since she sided with the templars, the Circle is not an option anyway.

What is her good point? Trying to save the dwarves by endangering them with the Anvil? I'm tempted to save the anvil just so I can get her to jump into the lava.

Her good point is that the anvil is the best chance for the dwarves to actually becoming able to fight an offensive war. Yes, Bhelen reclaims a few Thaigs, but the Deep Roads are all over Thedas, and they're fighting an enemy that corrupts all food and doesn't need to eat. Having soldiers that neither eat, sleep nor can be corrupted and is about as strong as 10 dwarves is a huge advantage.
Remember that Bhelen also reclaims the Thaigs as the near vicinity of Orzammar has been drained of darkspawn by them going to the surface.
No, the Wardens are supposed to do "whatever it takes". This doesn't mean accepting any help, sometimes it can mean the exact opposite -- not accepting the help when the "help" is associated with huge potential risk and can be simply a trap. A Warden can make calculated decision and take that risk if they consider it worth it, but if they just "don't care" then they're an idiot. At the same time, if the Warden can be excused for taking calculated risk like that as not 'being stupid' then so can Isolde. She realizes the danger but decides her son is worth that risk.Kryyptehk wrote...

She doesn't want to send her son to the Circle because it basically means lifetime of prison for him. She puts the happiness and freedom of her son (as she sees it) before her own faith. You see it as hypocritical, i see it as loyal towards someone she loves dearly to the point where she's willing to pretty much literally make a pact with the devil for someone else's sake. Again, this isn't how the selfish people act.Isolde is a hypocrit who doesn't want to send her son to the Mage's Circle because she is a devout Andrastian, but doesn't mind allowing an apostate to teach her son.
