ok I can't backread 1000+ pages but I have to ask what are the requirements for a queen ending? I know romance Alistair, play a HFN.... but what else? Does he need to be toughened up?
Nope. He's just gotta be in love with you, and it's an automatic pass. Hardened Alistair is a better king, though.

You mean how you can get Branka to destroy the Anvil? Persuade check.cmessaz wrote...

Good point about it being moot. If you spare the Anvil (you can spare Branka and still make her destroy the Anvil, BTW- she then kills herself), you only get golems. They're pretty tough, though.Miri1984 wrote...
Its moot anyway - they end up making a new golem without the anvil - the bag of nasties has been opened again. Still, it would make more sense to have the golems for the final battle.
BTW if you side with Branka do you get golems AND dwarves? It's not an either/or thing like with the Dalish is it?

Who would use it? Bhelen would turn Orzammar into a bloodbath, Harrowmont would steal humans from the surface, potentially starting a war with the humans. If you keep the Anvil, the dwarves will die from the lack of control over it. They'll be golems, but they won't be dwarves. If there were one person, even if it were that one person who could control the Anvil and could tell Bhelen and Branka to f off when they said they wanted to sacrifice more people, then I could understand. I would even support it.
Besides, what happened with Cairidin? They wanted to turn everybody and their mother into golems and they killed Caridin because he would let them. And hey, if Bhelen or Harrowmont would just stick to volunteers, I'd be all for it, but they won't.
I see it in a long perspective. And bringing up the endings that are available is not a very good argument for making a decision in-game, and it doesn't change the fact that Branka has a point.
I'd get rid of Branka and not destroy the anvil, chances are that there might come another smith able to use it that isn't completely mad. I don't think that darkspawn will be destroyed in the span of one generation, and that it is dumb to doom the Anvil because the contemporaries are not able to use it.

Completely incorrect. Bhelen immeidately declares use of the anvil illegal when it (branka) went out of control. He sets out to bring her in line (he succeeds at containing her).
Furthermore, this "zomg every dwarf will be made into a golem" is just a very stretchy exagerration. Yes, Bhelen is willing to use opponents and prisoners for the anvil, but that's a small number. No where does it state Bhelen would sacrifice the majority of his people. Not even close to it. And no, nothign suggests Bhelen would sacrifice everyone except the warrior and noble caste, especially considering that the warriors and nobles are his main opponents.
If a few criminals and short sighted political opponenets are to be sacrificed for the good of the Dwarves as a whole, then so be it.
As for Caridin, he refused to obey orders when the King started using non-volunteers for the anvil, but it was no where near the amount of people you seem to think ("everybody" or the majority).

I'm arguing my point of view, not my character's. To be fair, I haven't played as many characters as I would like, so I haven't made a character that would side with Branka.
I agree about not destroying the Anvil, however I wish you could lie and say you destroyed it, so that Bhelen or Harrowmont couldn't get it. I'm just uncomfortable with them having control over it. But if there were another smith who was not crazy and they just used volunteers (like the Legion of the Dead) then I would be a-okay with it. But the games don't extend that far and my characters all know that Bhelen and Harrowmont will want the Anvil. Thus, Anvil go aslodey.

child support will kill you too.
Imagine Morrigan showing up on your doorstep 16 years after the Blight and saying she has had enough, passing off her bad attitude child to you....

Yes but...ah, well played. I was afraid you would come in and completely undo everything I had said
I'm going to make a Cousland who is going to save the Anvil, just to fully see the ending, as I never have.

So, she does have a point after all? Having the option to get rid of Branka would be my second request of things that should be possible to do just after threatening Teagan into showing you a way into the castle.

My main problem is that the Anvil is a lot of power for one person to control. I'm skittish about giving one person so much power, especially if they don't know the consequences.
I completely agree when it comes to a person like Branka, who is clearly mentally unstable and doesn't seem to realise what she sacrificed to get there. And the only reason that appeals to me vis a vis destroying the anvil is Branka's unstability. Mind you, there are many reasons that could be valid when it comes to destroying the anvil, I just do not agree with them, at least not fully. The Branka argument is the one that appeals to me the most. On the otherhand, Caridin is clearly mentally unstable to me as well, as a golem. Because of his actions (that are quite frankly selfish), tens of thousands of Dwarves died and the race is getting extinct.
But I would trust the anvil with someone like Bhelen. He might do things with it that seem unpleasant, but I trust that he would have control over it (Harrowmont on the other hand can't). Whatever unpleasant things Bhelen might do with the anvil (and I don't think he would do many, Bhelen demonstrated he is usually prudent), is overshadowed but the terrible and pessimistic status of the dwarves right now. Aka being on the verge of extinction, having had to fight one Blight nonstop for centuries...etc.
