Ok, that takes care of my PC's Victoria's Secrets needs, but there was one for Alistair as well, as I recall.

There is a male model, isn't there? I wasn't aware there were any others, if there are please link.

My main problem is that the Anvil is a lot of power for one person to control. I'm skittish about giving one person so much power, especially if they don't know the consequences.

I completely agree when it comes to a person like Branka, who is clearly mentally unstable and doesn't seem to realise what she sacrificed to get there. And the only reason that appeals to me vis a vis destroying the anvil is Branka's unstability. Mind you, there are many reasons that could be valid when it comes to destroying the anvil, I just do not agree with them, at least not fully. The Branka argument is the one that appeals to me the most. On the otherhand, Caridin is clearly mentally unstable to me as well, as a golem. Because of his actions (that are quite frankly selfish), tens of thousands of Dwarves died and the race is getting extinct.

But I would trust the anvil with someone like Bhelen. He might do things with it that seem unpleasant, but I trust that he would have control over it (Harrowmont on the other hand can't). Whatever unpleasant things Bhelen might do with the anvil (and I don't think he would do many, Bhelen demonstrated he is usually prudent), is overshadowed but the terrible and pessimistic status of the dwarves right now. Aka being on the verge of extinction, having had to fight one Blight nonstop for centuries...etc.

That's true, though "trust" would be a strong word to use for choosing Bhelen as the lesser of evils. I'm kind of a softy, I don't want to think that giving Bhelen the anvil would be the best option, since he might turn innocent people into golems (essentially enslaving them) because they might speak against him.

I personally trust Bhelen fully to do what Orzammar needs and I do not see him as the "lesser evil", I see him as the best thing that happened to Orzammar in centuries. The only person with the right sense to question failing traditions.

Perhaps a few innocent dwarves would be sacrificed, sure. But in the larger scheme of things, Bhelen's actions would benefit more than harm and that's how I personally judge political leaders. Not by looking at actions seperately, but the larger picture.

Of course this is moot, since the idiot Branka got in the way, and Bhelen lost control of the anvil. So Bhelen never gets exclusive control over the anvil unfortunately. Still, the golems initially pushed the darkspawn back and reclaimed many thaigs. And I like how Bhelen immediately set out to bring Branka down, unlike the idiot Harrowmont, even if he doesn't succeed in destroying her fortress (but he does seel it, makign sure Branka is contained).

I agree with this, up close, it's Harrowmount well-intentioned and fluffy but from the vista of history it has to be Bhelen who would kick the dwarves collective arses until they became part of a modern Ferelden or perhaps, ultimately, an independent state.  Sure some peeps especially those closest to Bhelen would suffer but overall Orzammar would benefit.

I don't trust Bhelen to do something for Orzammar if it meant giving up power. I agree that he would do what he thought was best and probably succeed, but he killed Harrowmont even when he sweared fealty. But I'm not a trusting person and I wouldn't be happy unless I was queen of Orzammar (which is funny, because I don't feel that way about being queen of Ferelden).

That always happens with my characters. I can't help but make them cutesy sometimes, so they end up being the least intimidating people ever. And then my mother comes into my room and says they look 12. It's why I made a new PC, since my mom came in, saw my new one and was like "Durr hurr why are you playing as a middle school kid??"

The Pretty-in-Pink mod has black boxers (life would be a lot easier if the author would include the word "underwear" so it comes up in search better =p), but if you want to change up to a loincloth-style underwear, you can get it from Realistic Look under Theseus Underwear.

Edit: Needless to say, I have hairy Alistair in theseus underwear. ^_^

She's very cute.  Tucked Hair FTW.

So do you guys ever use character sheets?  In my MUSH days, I had some characterization worksheets that were actually used for writers' workshops.  It had you run through things like favorite color, favorite foods, birthmarks, etc.  It may seem like a tedious exercise for an RPG like ths one, but I'm doing that for Idun and I wish I had slowed down on my other characters and done similar things.  Probably since many of you write fanfiction, you already did something similar.

I can't bring myself to give them the boxers, it's just too much. I can excuse the bra and panties but the boxer briefs are just too modern for me.

I just couldn't take NB anymore. Even flacid it disturbs me. I really like the female one, I haven't tried the male one yet.

I'm almost to the Lady of the Forest and am starting to lose my nerve.

Eliminating Harrowmont would make sure no future rebellion is raised in his name. It was a sound move and it proved to the Assembly that Bhelen isn't here to play around but to get things done, the hard way if necessary.
And why would him giving up power be good to Orzammar? If he does give up power, the Monarchy is threatened and that would generate instability if not outright civil war in Orzammar.

And you are assuming that your character is a better queen than Bhelen, something we can't judge. So I am personally sticking with Bhelen, no offense.
And I hope you realise the irony of "I don't trust anyone but myself to rule" Posted Image

@ Maria13, Orzammar is already an indepedent State / City-State. Bhelen would likely make it an actual Kingdom / Empire.

It's safe to say that all the underwear is anachronistic and certainly the bras are.  If I recall, medieval people even slept in the nude.  But that amount of realism just isn't necessary in my book.  Most people didn't dress and undress other people like I do for my camp followers when I do armor changes.  LOL

That might be pushing it. It is still a small place, reclaiming a lot would be inadvisable during his lifetime, there is a need for more dwarves to populate the territory, otherwise it's just spreading the troops thinner.

I wonder how many dwarves there are anyways.

Edit: Since otherwise it might become a classic "invade Moscow" move.

Usually I don't really mind either but for some reason the boxers just hit that sort of "wtf" button for me.

No matter how much I hate Bhelen I also pick him to be a ruler. I would have done the same even if I would play as a dwarf noble.

Hehe thanks! The closest I've done is a quick entry on my blog here for Jaina. I was thinking about doing it for all of them, but I would need a template I think. I'm actually, starting with Lyra just now slowing down to RP the game a bit. Aidan was my first to get the whole way through with an actual personality and story.  I'd like to do an ongoing profile of each one in their own blog entry, but until I have a template done it's daunting.

Uh, I'd totally be a better ruler than Bhelen. CAKE FOR EVERYONE! I didn't mean I would rather be queen than Bhelen, that was a joke. I need to put more smilies in my posts more often, people take me too seriously.

I know what you mean about trusting Bhelen, but I am wary about dwarven politicians. They are like mini-Romans.

This. If you wanted to be really realistic, the women MIGHT wear no underwear, the dresses would be the size of houses, and it would take everyone in camp to put on Alistair (or any other massive armor wearing person)'s armor. I like the black solid underwear, it protects my delicate sensibilites:P

I used to have SUCH trouble with Elves, now I can't do human faces. But i wanted her to look wholesome. Lyra looks slightly cranky and a little dangerous, Jaina looks like she'll melt your face off given half a chance, Tryna the Duster looks dangeorous, and my Lady Aeducan looks all innocent but a little tough. Neria here tho...I'm stuck on how to do wholesome, sheltered, yet a force to be reckoned with. I guess her actions will have to do the work...lol

Top of page, reposting that aimo Mahariel because I realized it's probably the only Mahariel-Alistair pic I've seen that is happy.  Usually it shows them breaking up or something.
