IF it leads to her keeping her throne. Otherwise, she'll happily perpetuate his hero status.KnightofPhoenix wrote...
If you bothered to pay attention at the cutscenes, you would see how Anora feels.
And of course she is going to initially trust the Hero of the River Dane, who loyalty to his coutnry is unquestioned. And her trust was not blind, it's clear Loghain was doing what he thought was best. She realised later than his actions are not for the best and she does stand against him.
If it turns out you want to oust her from the throne, of course.
And she stood against him before you declare your loyalty. Once you make it clear to Anora that you will not support her, then her aiding you to get her off the throne would be like suicide (especially since she believes she would be executed if that happens).
By her stubborn refusal to keep to her agreement to marry Alistair, she does abandon her responsibilities. Unless you see wasting away in the Tower as honorable service to Ferelden. She will also refuse to swear fealty to him as sole ruler no matter the conditions under which he became such. She is every much as irrational and self-serving as Alistair in the Landsmeet, and every bit as useless to Ferelden if things don't go her way.
No, she does not. It's not her responsability to marry her father's killer. It's her responsability to insure what is best to Ferelden and she sees someone as Alistair to be a horrible king. But she does not betray her nation and nor does she decide to stop fightign the blight.
It was Alistair's responsability on the otherhand to fight the blight until it's defeated or he dies trying and he fails to do that if he doesn't get his way. Difference.
We are talking about aspects of Anora's character that make her a flawed ruler, every bit as flawed as the Theirins, just in a different direction. Not that I agree with you that Anora is some great intellect. She's obviously intelligent, but she also had the advantage over Alistair of the best education, as provided by Maric I might add. I think you're confusing a serious manner and arrogance with actual ability.
No one said she was perfect. But no where near as flawed as the Thereins.
She is smarter, more accomplished, better suited and more rational than all of them. Maric wants to die, abandoning his responability as King and his only son who isn't old enough to replace him. Cailan wants to fight a blight, simply because it's cool. Alistair declares his intentions to desert his nation because of one man, while at the same time asking to become the ruler of the nation he doesn't care about.
For me, it's clear who is the better ruler.
And no, her achievements in the epilogue is quite clearly a testemony to her abilities. Made potentially even more so if she marries a Cousland, as it is a Golden Age.

I've been to Arizona before. I find the dry heat a lot more tolerable than the disgusting humid heat here. Plus... I don't have AC. But I was out there when the weather was like 120, I don't think I could withstand that regularly. I don't think I'm going to Arizona any time soon though

Is this what Anora is doing if she supports her father in the Landsmeet to keep her throne and allows him to execute the only remaining Grey Wardens in the country while a Blight is ravaging it?KnightofPhoenix wrote...
It will depend on individual leaders yes, but I think a basic requirement for a great leader is being ambitious. It's liking to rule, not necessiraely for its own sake, but to help others as well. I don't wanna leave my ocean! *huggles the Atlantic*
And I love creating characters. It's probably one of the most fun things I do when playing D&D.
LadyD...offtopic, but I'm curious. We're moving to GA this winter, and the beach on the east coast isn't a far drive, Please tell me you can actually SEE the ocean. Cuz the pacific, up here in the northwest, has been quite disappointing. Even in the summer it's clouded over and friggin cold, I really want warm walks on the beach with my camera in hand instead of left behind to avoid the stinking rain.

Why no AC? Aren't you in NYC? I can't imagine there would be much of a breeze.
I'm a heat sissy I can't do the summer w/o AC.

There is no need to answer that first question if there actually is something. Just that I've heard this talk before and it has often showed itself to be BS. Not that there is anything wrong with confidence.
Back to your topic.

Never fear Lady Jess, you can SEE the ocean! i'm about 45 minutes from the Atlantic myself, and I love the beaches. Never been as far south as GA, but I know GA isn't known for being foggy
And I swear there are days its so clear, I can see Africa.

I'm up in Massachusetts, but it's never been an issue. Summers (with the exception of last year) are really nice. Occassional haze, but the beach is usually nice. Fun during hurricane season, too, if we get a storm that comes up far enough.

I am but we live in an old building where **** landlords don't give a damn if the roof collapses over our heads, much less making the wiring actually able to withstand the demand of AC units. We put one in once but the electricity in our apartment goes out the minute we turn it on.
@Mel, it;s true though xD Arizona dropped to the bottom of my "Places To Go" list after that. I was born here, goshdarnit.

She will tell your PC that she does know that Grey Wardens are necessary to defeat the Blight, unlike her father. She knows about the Joining. It's safe to say she knows more about the Grey Wardens than any non-GW other than Cailan. I mean, even Wynne and Zevran figure out that Grey Wardens actually are necessary to defeat a Blight, though not precisely how.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

So is she lying then, or just manipulating your PC? Or is she just not that smart?

If you have a socket by the stove/sink that socket by law has to be on it's own circuit. You should be able to plug your AC into that socket. That's what I had to do when I lived in Providence.

Yes, she is lying, to show that she could be a valuable ally, which she can be.
And her knowing about the joining is just a writing error (that led to a senechal knowing everythign about the joining), no one is supposed to know. But even if she does know that the joining is fatal, she doesn't necessarily know what it involves and what are the implications.
Wynne is arrogant who thinks she knows everything about the Wardens, while she doesn't know anything. So no, she does not know. She simply believes in the tales told to her.
Same with Zevran.
But none of them truly know why and how the Wardens are necessary. We only know ourselves at the very end.

Hmmm. I guess we could try that, but the issue is that our apartment is very large too (6 rooms) so one unit would not suffice for the whole place, really. Especially since we keep our doors closed because of the cats. I guess we could all hang out in the kitchen or living room but I think somebody would end up dead by the end of the summer, lol.

Can always run an extention cord to where you want it. I'm not sure how many you could put on the circuit... As far as I know when I did it I was the only one running an AC on that circuit. We used one good sized one to cool 2 rooms.

True, if I did that I'd put it in my room and then there'd be mutiny xD My usual tactic of becoming totally immobile under 20 fans will have to work.
