Ohh, I see.  But it sounds like from the file descriptions that ZDF is included, or am I just a dolt?  I was wondering why Zevran was giving elf mage the Neutral/Warm speech at the gates rather than the Black City one.

Soo... let me lay this out and see if I have it straight.

a) Your latest mod is running.  No worries there.

B) Download and install ZDF and delete its alistair_main files so as not to conflict with yours.

c) Download and install Charsen's gate kisses and delete ZDF's party_events files so that the kisses will trigger.

Make sure to also delete party_events.dlb and .dlg from ZDF to make charsen's kisses work.

Yeah, I need to change that a bit in the description.

I don't know how the Alistair Haters do it. Jaina NEEDS to see him as whiny and annoying, yet I, as the player can't see it. She's had it hard...really friggin hard her entire life, he's had it bad but not to the same extreme, and she has learned to stay positive and put the crap almost behind her. Like ZEvran...I don't think anyone in the camp has had it quite as hard as him but he refuses to let it bring him down. That's Jaina, and she can't comprehend the moping.

I think I need her to take over >.<

Yea I never saw Alistair as whiny. The real whiner was Oghren and that didn't stop him from being awesome (in Origins). But I did see him a bit inconsiderate as a Cousland, when he initially doesn't show any consideration to what happened to your family in front of your own eyes, while he's crying for friends he had known for 6 months.

Kind of made me want to do this to him Posted Image

They need an evil love interest. My bloodmage is going to be EBUL but there is noone to romance. My last bloodmage was a goody-two shoes (funny, huh?) so she just romanced Alistair. I think I'm not going to romance anyone this time around :(

I must agree about the Cousland thing. That is a little weird to hear Alistair talk about Duncan's death when your family was murdered.

I loved Oghren...in Origins. In Awakening I kept thinking that we were seeing a deeper side to him, until Felsi came in an yelled at him for joining the Wardens. I didn't even finish his quest, I was so mad at him. Heck, I'm probably not ever going to finish his quest, because I've read the ending (the Warden forced him to write to his wife and child WTF????)

Not that I'm gonna play Awakening anymore.

EDIT: I'm starting to think you were talking about Alistair, instead of Oghren...oh well, that's how I feel about Oghren, regardless:P

Zevran, while not evil, is a lot more accepting of your evil ways.

I really wish there was a way to tell him, or any LI, about what happened to you.  I mean, beyond the 'My whole family just got killed, I know how you feel' and then the 'My whole family got killed' when he asks if you've lost anyone.  And apply that to any origin.  You can choose to tell him or not, but it would be nice to have that choice.

I think a bloodmage has the potential to be very selfless. Think about it.
Using your own blood and lifeforce to caste heal on a dying child, as you had exhausted your mana.
A bloodmage can be a goody-two-shoes. The funny thing is that Alistair, a templar, doesnt' seem to care.

My bloodmage flirted with all three character simulateously and didnt' romance any, because he didn't want to. And I found out in that playthrough that one can play the game with no romances at all.

Yeah none of them show much sympathy, and Alistair is the only one you can really tell about it. Though he does, at camp while talking about Duncan have a really sweet line about it if you tell him when he asks if you've lost someone. So I don't usually feel like slapping him. Oghren is definitely whiny, half the time I don't bother with him, only on my Aeducan did he finally spit out what was bothering him.

She will tell your PC that she does know that Grey Wardens are necessary to defeat the Blight, unlike her father.  She knows about the Joining.  It's safe to say she knows more about the Grey Wardens than any non-GW other than Cailan.  I mean, even Wynne and Zevran figure out that Grey Wardens actually are necessary to defeat a Blight, though not precisely how.
So is she lying then, or just manipulating your PC?  Or is she just not that smart?  Posted Image

Yes, she is lying, to show that she could be a valuable ally, which she can be.
And her knowing about the joining is just a writing error (that led to a senechal knowing everythign about the joining), no one is supposed to know. But even if she does know that the joining is fatal, she doesn't necessarily know what it involves and what are the implications.

Wynne is arrogant who thinks she knows everything about the Wardens, while she doesn't know anything.  So no, she does not know. She simply believes in the tales told to her.
Same with Zevran.
But none of them truly know why and how the Wardens are necessary. We only know ourselves at the very end.

So Anora has poor instincts, then.  Wynne and Zevran are smarter in their ignorance than she is in her arrogance.  She's also apparently a poor student of history.  Who has defeated the other four Blights?  It was always the Grey Wardens and an alliance of nations.  Alistair and the PC bring with them an alliance of armies, one that Anora and Loghain had not managed to put together themselves.  Executing them simply to keep her throne is a purely selfish act and would have, if it had succeeded, devastated Ferelden and possibly other nations as well.

I already made a goody bloodmage though. I wanted to make a selfish, power-hungry, doesn't really care about anything except herself. Likes destroying good things for the hell of it. Most of my characters are good under all their selfishness, or power-huger.

I want to make this bloodmage a bastard covered bastard with bastard filling.:P

I want to play my blood mage as dark, but not evil. Even though she probably will side with the werewolves and spare the anvil, I don't think that makes one evil. Just...different. But I also don't want her dark past being made all better by the bright shining love of a good man. She is a blood mage, Alistair has a real prejudice towards the practice, and I can't see him treating her much better than he does Morrigan. I just don't know how to get him to that point.

Romance is in her cards however. Zevran, is obviously a great choice for her, considering her past, and how she uses it as motivation and strength to move forward, doing whatever it takes.

No one is "smarter in ignorance". One can be right, in ignorance yes, but that's being right for the wrong reasons.
And historically speaking, it was an army of the Wardens who defeated the blights, not two Wardens. Furthermore, Anora has no qualms about asking the Orlesians to help (as is evidenced in the cutscene), that was Loghain. In addition, Loghain still has an army and nothing indicates it's lesser in numbers than the army you gathered, which is pretty small.

No one denies that Anora was self interested, but she had no way of really knowing that the Wardens are necessary. And yes, it would have devastated Ferelden, but they cannot be held accountable to an ignorance that is not their doing. I do not judge someone for the results of an action that she could not really predict.
As I said before, even I did not know why my charaqcter is necessary other than the fact he is a one man army.

But even when she is self interested, she would remain to fight for her nation, even if she fails. Alistair unfortunately does not do that when he doesn't get his way, and prefers to abandon his people to their fate.

Gaider has confirmed that he didn't know explicitly that it was your family who was murdered - more like camp rumors "Oh yeah, she's from Highever" "Hey, did you hear all the Couslands were murdered" and he never had the time to put two and two together to realize that you were a Cousland and that it was YOUR family who was all killed.

He sounds very sincerely remorseful when you tell him, and says that it was stupid of him not to remember and to go on like that about it.  It's quite sad.

I don't think you can in the talk about Duncan thing. Though if you want to see a really snarky Alistair, tell him you don't want him falling apart again in that dialog. Yikes! Actually Jaina might use that. I mean seriously, she'll have known him for what...a couple weeks? a month tops? She knew Duncan even less, so I don't see her grasping what the big deal is just yet.

The only time I had the apology option come up was after "why did you keep your birthright a secret" and choosing "I did like you, now I don't know who you are" or something like that.
