Not to re-ignite our conversation from yesterday, but I skimmed through some of The Calling last night and though I didn't find the place where Maric tells Fiona he wanted to die, I did see where she says something like "back on the stairs you said you had changed, that you wanted to live."  So I know it's in there.

However, in his earlier confrontation with Fiona, he says that he went because he was trying to avert the witch's prophecy about the Blight and thought that her prophecy might mean that he was supposed to go.  He saw the situation as an existential threat to his kingdom.  This is one thing that makes me think he disappeared deliberately later on and not in an accidental shipwreck.  So even though he actually did want to die, there were actual, pressing, kingdom-related reasons for him to go with the Grey Wardens, too.
I forgot how moving his interactions with Fiona are.  I like that story a lot.  Posted Image  Wish it ended more happily.

You know what would be cool? If someone who had artistic talent made some good epilogue slideshow pictures, so instead of the boring grey warden background we get now, I could replace them with art!

You mean the heraldry during the last few epilogue cards?

Yes! But alas, unless people want stick figures, this is beyond my skills.

Do you know how to replace that if you had the art for it?  I don't.

Addai- What happened at the tower: Alistair talked me out of killing her to begin with. I agreed with Cullen and she went up the stiars and said I had to go trough her. Alistair said something along the lines of the situation going downlhill quickly and asked Wynne not to do this. I lost 5 pts. I was going to annul the circle the last time with my mage, and Alistair did not seem to object, even though I reloaded, so I wonder if being a mage has something to do with it.

Syl- Now I have to work up the guts to kill Connor. That is going to be so hard for me.

Ah, I ended up killing Wynne when she threatened Morrigan so we never got that far.

Re. Connor, it is very sad, but it's the cleanest way to end it all.  Who knows if that crazy ritual would work and then you'd have killed a woman for nothing if it didn't and still have to kill the boy in the end.

She threatened Morrigan? That would have made it easier. I must have chosen the wrong dialogue.

You actually imply a threat to the Circle first by agreeing with Morrigan that the templar way would be a merciful death for such pathetic mages.  Wynne then says "your advisor is an apostate, you are more dangerous than I believed, I will let you into this Tower over my dead body" and Morrigan says "we will give you your wish, old woman" or something like that and then all hell breaks loose.  It's actually kind of cool, in a brutal way.  Posted Image  Since my PC is an "apostate," too, she had no trouble going along with Morrigan.  At least I didn't have to take Wynne through the Tower with me.

It was more... if he died he died type attitude.  Maric did have concerns about the Blight but he basically thought that Genevieve's quest was a suicide mission (which it nearly was).

Oh I need that to happen when I do blood mage. Jaina would seriously take offense to that, since technically...SHE is an apostate (oops sorry Maleficar) now, though an untouchable one, and sees nothing at all wrong with not being leashed to that prison/  I do love Morrigan. <3

But he objects when he finds out that Genevieve led them all on the mission based only on a vision.  I really did not get the impression of someone suicidal, though definitely one who was trying to find a reason to pick up again.  You can tell he's in a depression by the way he's described in the first scene, slumped over in his throne in muddy riding boots and a loose shirt (*fans self*).

Addai- I'll have to remember that when I play my Dalish Mage. My blood mage was BFF with Morrigan, but I chickened out at the tower

Serissia-The theory on replacing those slidshow backgrounds is sound.

I need to go next door and get some food.  This issue I'm having w/ my armor makes me want to throw things.

If you have an idea about what you'd want to replace it w/ than I could try to come up w/ something.

I killed Wynne - and didn't annul the Circle - just because I didn't want to drag her ass through the tower again. My PC is a Mage and a Spirit Healer, ffs!

Don't the children get killed in this instance? or do they run to the side while you have to kill Wynne, Petra and Kinnon?  Or is this in the chamber where Cullen is?

Well, for the Cousland wedding, a hair neutral wedding pic would be cool. We could think of one for all of them.

If I have to watch her fade dream more time....but Alistair intervened this time. He has to stay at camp the next time through.

As I recall from others talking about it, this also happens if you fail a Persuade check with Morrigan.

You should look into enabling the blood mage confrontation that Dialogue Tweaks restored, the one where Wynne tries to turn you in to Greagoir after you save her precious Tower.  It is most awesome, and you do see Irving in a good light in that confrontation.  If you pass the Persuade check, he basically tells Wynne that the Grey Wardens have access to magic that others don't and to STFU.

My badass Cousland Breanna should side with the templars. Is it possible to tell Wynne to stay behind and guard the children, go in, ignore Cullen, save irving and then tell the Knight-Commander to anull the Circle? Will Wynne still vote to come with us or will she disappear?

Edit: I hope she's not too badass for Alistair, I still want to romance him but I need a reason why he should change and become less innocent.

I couldn't get her to stay. I tried telling her that I would do it myself.

I have DT installed, is that an extra thing? I was wondering if she'd notice at any point. Not that I really want to recruit Wynne, but if I'm going to play a blood mage, have Alistair unfriendly, I might as well have Wynne along to heal...I'll just use her for mana:P

You mean he says nothing about you being a blood mage?  Not that I recall, but I have only seen this scene with others, haven't done it myself.  If you fail the Persuade, you have to fight Greagoir, Irving and Wynne and I believe you lose your armies, which is probably why it was dropped from the game despite its awesome badness.

It is an extra, optional fix.  Without it, you just get a couple extra dialogue choices in talking to the maleficar in the Tower (you can recruit her to fight darkspawn) and with Uldred (you can tell him something like "we are more alike than it seems").

I actually had it figured that my blood mage was Uldred's apprentice, not Irving's, which is where she started to learn the magic.

Dangit I already played through with my blood mage. There are a ton of things that were either dropped from the game of aren't appearing due to silly mistakes. I have repaired a couple minor things in sten_main but I'm not going to post it, just for my own use because it isn't that big of deal. And no one cares about Sten.

Noooo look at this new Alistair morph!

She insists on going with you.  Only way to keep your crew is to kill her.  I've heard you can switch out team members at some point, though, maybe after the Fade?  I haven't tried it, but people have said you can do that if you intend to side with Cullen and don't want to kill Wynne.

Top of page, the squee never gets old
