Haha yeah, I know Sarah...though this is not what I mean. He describes the travel route quite precisly as in which way to go over the frostback mountains etc. I would love to have this little detail in my FF, that's all.

Thanks, Surely <3

Generic: "That means heading west into the Frostback Mountains, which won't be easy."

To a DC/DN: "If you follow the West Road around Calenhad Lake into the mountains through Gherlen's Pass. From there, I expect you'd know the way."

Southern Spain. Andalucia, right near the Sierra Nevada mountains. The village I live in produces only two crops: wine and almonds. In equal amounts.

Hmm...question aside: Can probably someone check the toolset for me? I need the dialogue when you reach Lothering and Alistair gives you the directions to Orzammar, when you are a DN/DC (?). It's a more detailed description than what the other origins get and I would need this for my FF. Sadly I don't have a dwarf at that point, so I can't check it myself.
Thanks in advance.

I don't have the toolset but that dialogue when you ask him where it was really annoyed me. You ask and he's all 'What? You're a dwarf? How can you not know how to find Orzammar from Lothering?' and Morrigan of all people had to come to my rescue with 'She's never been to the Surface before so she can't find it from here!' I mean, really, Alistair? I could have sworn I mentioned at least a few times that I was, in fact, from Orzammar and that was why he was surprised I didn't know where it was...sometimes cluelessness is not endearing. Posted Image

I gave Alistair some slack since he was sheltered and not a lot is known about dwarves since we keep to ourselves for the most part. I was more surprised by Morrigan being more sensitive to the situation because she had been in the Wilds most of her life. Where was she getting the knowledge that eluded Alistair? =p (It WAS one of her finer moments in a dwarf playthrough -- I remember rooting her on when she defended the dwarf. My other favorite moment is when she sees right through the dwarf noble insisting the DN is royalty and worth some ransom, too!)

Really? What does she say? I only said that on my HNM since as far as he was concerned he was but my DN was like...yeah, not royalty anymore. Well, not at the moment, at least...Posted Image

And even a sheltered person should be able to work out 'someone who lives underground would not know how to get places on the Surface.' Maybe he just wasn't thinking?

I tried to start a different elf but I can't seem to play any other than this one. I'm going through her game again though. As for characters that I've started and never finished... I have a zillion of all kinds :?

I have this problem a bit with my city elf, I click an option and want to hit myself while thinking; THis is what Lenya would have done and this is NOT Lenya, dammit. I have my fair share of unfinished characters...but it doesn't hinder me from creating new ones.:wizard: Only recently I have created the DCF who will finally be Zev's girl. Poor lad is getting never love from all my elves due to a certain fellow Warden who happens to be an elf-magnet xD Well I think princess stabbity from Dust town can resist his puppy charm. I actually like the commoner origin a way better than the DN-ones, how I have figured out today while playing. Guess I really have a thing for the underdogs, ....hence my love for the (Dalish) elves in that game. <3

Yeah, I've made a bunch of CEF after playing my Dalish and I just... I don't want to play one that isn't her and doesn't look like her. I've tried using her same face morph and just switching around her coloring but it's not the same. Hehe, she ruined other elves for me, I guess.

I like the DC origin better than the DN one as well. It's why I wish there was a human commoner origin too, because I want to be able to play human rogues and warriors that aren't part of the nobility. But we don't really have any options :? So I've played a bunch of HNFs but I never really get too interested by them. Though I really do like my latest one so she might make it a bit more interesting for me.

I haven't had my canon elf yet. Lyra didn't make it, I started a Dalish mage but, I hesitate to use the origin for fear of really liking her, and having it screwed up in the future. As it stands right now, the one and only canon character I've finished is my human noble queen. And the only one besides a Human mage to finish while romancing Alistair. Jaina (tower elf mage), Aidan (DNF), Karynne(CEF), Tryna (DCF)...all romancing or have romanced Zev.

Morrigan: "I would have rescued your king. A king would be worth a much higher ransom than you." (She would have left the player to die. Nothing personal.)
(IF: Dwarf Noble) PC: "I happen to be of royal blood, you know."
Morrigan: "Yet now you are a surface dwarf. My king's ransom might be a long time coming." (amused -- she knows better)

Yes, well, that was my life.  Luckily I'm near Princeton now.  Everyone looks like they're hippies who play lacrosse.  Totally different atmosphere than how I grew up.

And I love that bit about Seaside......That is the reason I will enver step foot in Seaside EVER again

I have to be honest Skadi....my husband and I are shopping for another house in the middle of nowhere.  He lived in Brooklyn for many years, and I lived in North Jersey.  We want something where we can't jerk our neighbors off by sticking our hand out the window....*sorry, some Jersey came out there*

We want woods and land and nothingness.

I'd like to be out in the middle of nowhere too. Because that would mean no people. No annoying well wishers to disturb my daytime sleep by pounding on my door asking for cigarettes. And being able to walk out my front door without stepping in mule ****.

But the problem is living in a village out in the middle of nowhere. You're basically trapped amongst morons, and it's an hour's drive to the nearest town where they don't have relatives.

So, for the experts here, I'm having a strange problem with Fraps video.  On that swooping kiss, I start the video capture and end it as I normally would.  However, when I go to shut down, I get an error message which I think means it's still recording, and when I look at the video it starts at the fade-to-black rather than the actual beginning of the conversation.  It did it before and I finally got it to work after 6 or 7 tries.  Now I want to re-do the video in a more scenic place, without the dog barking, but I'm having the same problem and it's making me tear my hair out.  Any ideas?  I've tried closing and re-opening Fraps, changing the key etc.

We live in a townhosue, with the nicest but most annoying neighbors ever.  They would do anything for us, but I swear I can't take a poop without them asking all about it.  I yearn for the day where I can go outside, breathe the fresh air.......and hear nature.  I feel you Skadi.....i really do.

The grass is greener. We have woods and land and nothingness (and are surrounded by cows, tons and tons of cows) and, except for the prettiness, I hate it so much. I can't do anything spur of the moment with my friends because just running to get ice cream is an hour long endeavor, and that's if I manage to avoid getting behind any tractors, Amish buggies or college kids on bicycles. And it's so quiet at night, it makes me a little crazy. I would kill to live within walking distance of a grocery store or be piled into a nifty old apartment complex.

Of course, I live in a smallish college town, so I've not had to contend with city crazy, I just know I dislike living in the country.

Aidan is, yeah. I meant the only canon character I finished with Alistair was my HNF.  I'm not very clear tonight, my dinner fell on the floor, which led to a bit of a meltdown, bah...bad day

I love the city. I can't stand the Normand Rockwell small town hole I'm in now. I hate the fact that 20 people will talk to me by the time I walk from my door to the small town grocer and back. I can't stand casual conversation; I find it tedious and fake.

That is very true.  I'm used to urban....so after a month in the country I might cry and want urban again

EDIT: ToP....This is what Alistair thinks of mule feces:
