I don't know, I can't get into that hairstyle (not that it matters yet, since I'm a console player for now anyways). It just looks too...pretty for me, a hairstyle that's too much work to maintain while you're running around defeating the Blight and running an errand for every nobody in Ferelden. I think I could go with it for a post-Blight epilogue sort of do, just not during in-game events. *shrugs*
You're not alone. I greatly dislike hairstyles like that. It's a matter of personal taste, but it totally breaks immersion for me.
I pick it for the opposite reason. It looks wild and messy. Like fingers have been raked through it in frustration, or exhaustion, My hair has natural waves in it, and pretty much looks like that by the end up the day. Except shorter.
Edit: the back is only collar length on that style and wavy. Morrigan's hair would take more work. There's not a clean part, and it doesn't even look combed...lol:happy:
It's the curls on the side that get me - like she's got a curling iron out in the Wilds. Actually, I could picture an HNF or DNF trying something like that for the first few days and getting all frustrated while Morrigan looks disgusted and Alistair all confused...

I think it's just overly curly for my tastes, looks too stylized. I'd like something inbetween, for the same effect you like.
Most of my PCs have easy styles to maintain, the one bun or the Cauthrien pony-tail or just cut straight with no frills. Only my Dalish has the braids, and I figure they're cultural and she lives out in the wilds anyways and would be used to simple maintenance on that. I also imagine that they all keep their hair short/pulled back to keep it out of the way while fighting darkspawn, but that after the Blight they might let it grow out some, for the ones that aren't against being feminine. *spends way too much time thinking of these things instead of her thesis, goes back to work*
