I really don't read that as being happy about it at all.  He is reconciled, and when he's hardened he tries to make the best of being king.  I think there's even a VO note (someone confirm or deny??) that says "but he doesn't like this woman" when he talks about there being worse things than being married to a beautiful woman.

Since beauty is more than skin deep, Anora is completely .

I mean if you make her solo ruler, she won't remarry because other men don't measure up to her father. I have never had her decline to marry Alistair. I always have high cunning and persuasion.

probably that too.  I get the feeling her reasons for doing so are more than one.  Daddy issues, not wanting to have her power usurped/shared, and I really don't think she enjoys intimacy
