LOL I love that mod...my daughters BFF (who also plays) helped me install that one. Now whenever I get disapprovals from Morrigan I just slap her for it. BAD MORRIGAN!

Hey! I can't get the darn thing to work? I usually don't have trouble installing mods. I wanna slap the swamp witch! And the conversation with Alistair that I was talking about is about a gentleman courting you. His insecurity is adorable.

I need to ask, according to the toolset, telling Alistair that you are "just one of the boys" when you meet him is supposed to get you a couple of approval points. This doesn't work for me. How about everyone else?

I've found that I can only get approval for the first conversation if I don't talk to him about the argument he was having with the mage. I also got an extra point for asking how he became a Warden in the second conversation you can have with him (the one that you have to initiate, you don't get to ask if you've already been told that he was a templar).

Yeah I found that out, but saying "just one of the boys" is supposed to net approval. Just like the conversation that you cannot have with him in vanilla about the joining after talking to Duncan. Saying "I'll be fine" generates approval, but without a mod you cannot even access that conversation.

Oh, if you like bittersweet romance I'd recommend reading "A Midwinter's Thaw" on SIB. It's an Alistair/Cousland story with a twist and a ton of extras that settles on the Loghain redeemer ending (yes, Alistair leaves Ferelden!) and is set 8 years after the Blight. The thought of sparing Loghain has grown on me just because of this story.

Dang you ladies have been busy while I was sleeping.  I got some catching up to do lol.


I'd definitely recommend reading the story klarabella mentions.  It's beautiful, wonderful delicious lol.  This was the first story I read my first time of ever going to SIB, never been there before and after reading this story I had to sign up for a new account just to let the author now how much I enjoyed reading that story.   I guess SIB would be my very first Alistair fandom group I've ever joined lol.  Ok I'm off to read some more posts lol.

Right. I've gotten approval for the "just one of the boys" but only if I end the conversation at that point. If we talk about the mage, I get nothing.

Re: Bevin/Kaitlyn and the sword

I am going to add my obligatory dwarf knowledge here! If you give 5g to Kaitlyn, Oghren will disapprove -3. I have no idea why. Maybe sword is not that good? Or it's too helpful? Then again, in Awakening, I get +5 from Oghren if I make the prisoners give me the clothes off their backs before releasing them. LOL. If you give 1 gold or whatever, there's no approval change from Oghren. He only objects if it's 5g.

Other Redcliffe/Oghren scenarios:

+4 approval if you tell Teagan you'll defend the town.

+3 for intimidating Dwyn into helping (he tells Dwyn what a sorry piece of a crap he is) +1 if you just persuade Dwyn.

Oghren wants you to kill the elf (Berwick) in the tavern. +4 if you do. If you pass the persuade check, no change at all. If you fail it, it's -5.

And finally, when you free Owen's daughter and return to see him, Owen will give you fine crafted dwarven armor. Oghren will want the armor, warden allowing, and tell Owen he'd be honored to have something as fine as that. +1 approval.

Why the heck is this not working for me? How about others? Anyone else having this problem? I never talk to him about the mage at that point.

Seriously folks, Alistair probably wouldn't be able to make an heir regardless. So the marriage may be pointess. We already know that Cailen couldn't get Anora pregnant, so Alistair being able to is unlikely. So the heir thing isn't gonna happen anyway. Like I said before, not producing an heir is a good setup for war in a later game! I tried the mistress route my last playthrough and while it was sweet, I just don't like it. I am the Hero of Ferelden, and people respect me, but they won't so much after they discover that king and I are having fun on the side. As far as Anora getting pregnant or not it has nothing to do with the guys.  If you've played a HNM, married Anora, spared Loghain and play Awakening's Loghain will pay you a visit in Vigil's Keep and he'll mention something about how Anora despises the having kids subject. There's a youtube video on this scene that I caught the other day, that's how I know about that.   She doesn't want kids, and I believe she might be doing something to prevent herself from getting pregnant.

I had to re-restart my Dalish character, since I realized that with ZevranASAP mod installed, if I start in Lothering I'm not going to get Zevran at all.  Can't have that.  Anyway, I discovered my new favorite look for Alistair.  He's not going to be keeping this armor for long, of course!  But he'll keep the helmet for a while.  I do love the horns.

And I never got Zev either after that ZevASAP mod. Evil thing! I had 2 treaties and rescued Redcliffe when I decided to restart cuz he never appeared.

I very much prefer my Alistair in plate. I dislike the way a lot of armor looks, and so he generally stay in low level armor until we get to tower and he gets templar armor.

Yes that is shadow armor.  I'll move Ali over to heavier armor when we get some, and when DE has enough str to wear the shadow armor herself.  I don't mind the Dalish midriff armor, but it's a bit ridiculous in practical terms.

Mercy, the Thane helmet is so hot. I usually keep it on my PC, but when I saw how Anders rocked it I felt compelled to slap it on Ali the next time I played Origins. I am also tempted to throw Ali in the Chasind robes, to complete the whole Arcane Warrior-fetish look I had for Anders.
