Alistair, post-coronation... and/or Alistair gush thread (Origins/Awakening Spoilers)

Eamon does suck, it's another benefit of keeping Alistair away from the throne. I enjoy shattering Eamon's ambitions.

However, I had the german version back then, so I don't know how the exact words and it's also a time ago...but still I never forget THAT line, making me hate Eamon even more

Edit: To keep it on topic. Messy Ali just killed Loghain and he didn't marry Anora (yay Ali).

If Arl Urien was half the bastard his son was, it wouldn't surprise me if he forced the issue.
It sucks, but at least the kennels in the Arl of Denerim's estate are indoors and on the main floor. It might have even been a step up from sleeping in a hayloft.

Well considering how Isolde treated him sleeping with the dogs was preferable I guess. Poor kid.

Sure, it's better than sleeping with the (invisible Fereldan) horses outside, but still. Sheesh. How do you do that to a kid?
There is that. I have an incredibly difficult time wrapping my head around it, even taking into account the whole "but consider the time period!" part of it. Eamon and Maric really should have been able to do better by Alistair, even if it meant placing him with a common family who could at least treat him like a valued member of the household.

Ok Ladies, I have a bet with something that will cause me work on the line (and that is bad, I hate work). In two weeks, I believe you will have more posts than the Zevran-Love thread. Discuss. Possible? Likely? Most Definitely?

As much as I would like to take that bet, it is unlikely. Sheer post volume would be difficult to achieve. Even if we keep up the current pace, we'd only be at like 11-12k posts in 2 weeks at most. Though doing the math, the numbers of posts per day is kind of staggering. O.o

You know in moments like this I'm amazed how normal Alistair has turned out after all the sh!t he has been through. That's a strength itself indeed. Others in his situation would have turned into drooling lunatics or murderous douchebags. This raised my respect for him even more.

Yeah, I dunno. If you don't intend to at least treat him like a human, then don't take the child in.

Near the fountain when Erlina is leading you to rescue Anora. It has a 33% chance to trigger, so I think if you brought him alone he would definitely say it.
You know, I used to kinda like Eamon. Now...

Probably Eamon didn't really care about Alistair that much, except as a potential tool of influence. He gave him most of the bare necessities. Beyond that, though, I really think he wanted to bend and break Alistair to make him more pliable.

Hey it could happen, you never know lol. And we are getting one's who come in that have a different time schedule than us. I won't bet on it but I am curious lol. This actually is a fun thread, that talks about almost anything lmao. I think Alistair would approve of some of it. Probably be beat red with most of the topics lol.

@Sylvanaerie No, my mod is still beta. The cutscene kiss is still broken. I have asked Terra_Ex for help, but he has his own project going on right now (he's fixing Morrigan), so it may be a bit. I'll wrestle with it some more, but there's a good chance I may not get it. And honestly, my mod will never change greetings, or even include an option to slay the archdemon yourself if you're with an in-love or still-in-love Alistair.
Alistair Dialog Patch is amazing, but has a different focus than ZDF. I'm sure she got more of the romance-related things as I don't normally do the Alistair romance. My focus has been more on romance Zevran and Alistair not in a romance (both from a female and male point of view). Therefore, fixing Alistair's kiss is not a high priority for me, but I have not given up. Should I put in a link for the latest kiss added to ZDF, however? Charsen hasn't gotten to the other companions yet, and I don't want to be spammy here!

What really started to turn me against Eamon was when Anora said basically that Cailen wouldn't have had a problem with Alistair being at court, that it was Eamon's choice that he wasn't. Thats when I sort of scratched my head and wondered what his intentions were.Skadi_the_Evil_Elf wrote...

You know, it took me a couple of playthroughs before I heard the line about Alistair sleeping in the stables. And I was okay with that. I mean, that's not all that abnormal for an orphan commoner. But the more these little things come out....
I dunno. You could have raised Alistair as a completely normal kid without having to do all that sh*t. I'm starting to wonder now how he found out he was Maric's son. Did Eamon eventually tell him in order to break him even more? Like, 'Look, your father is a king and this is how little he cares about you.'? *does not understand*

Doing this to a child is so wrong on many levels but so fitting to Eamon. It would explain a LOT. What makes it even more worse how much Alistair still values Eamon after all this. He is really too good-hearted for his own good

I'm beginning to wonder if I should get the Alistair Dialogue Patch. What does it change, exactly?

I deem this appropriate! I want an Alistair beheads Eamon mod!
