Probably Eamon didn't really care about Alistair that much, except as a potential tool of influence. He gave him most of the bare necessities. Beyond that, though, I really think he wanted to bend and break Alistair to make him more pliable.

You know, it took me a couple of playthroughs before I heard the line about Alistair sleeping in the stables.  And I was okay with that.  I mean, that's not all that abnormal for an orphan commoner.  But the more these little things come out....

I dunno.  You could have raised Alistair as a completely normal kid without having to do all that sh*t.  I'm starting to wonder now how he found out he was Maric's son.  Did Eamon eventually tell him in order to break him even more?  Like, 'Look, your father is a king and this is how little he cares about you.'?  *does not understand*

Or the older that Alistair got the more he looked like Maric the more that people started talking.  So it had to come out eventually.

The Alistair dialogue patch is great. Gets you the kiss at the gates, plus tweaks Alistair's king delusions when he was not made king.

Bleh, company distracted me from this thread. Anyway, I wonder if Eamon resented Alistair. Rowan was his sister after all. Though it is my understanding that Alistair was born after Rowan died.

After reading The Stolen Throne I can actually understand why Loghain resents Eamon so much. Eamon wasn't even there during the whole rebellion. It's kind of like he swooped in and claimed his family's credit for himself without actually doing anything.

You most likely have to delete the folders inside the ZevFix folder before you can delete the folder itself.  I made it modular, but that has a downside.  

And here is Zevran and a dwarf female at the gates.  

Edit: I will go on to say that ADP is a fabulous mod.  She fixes a lot, but changes some as well.  But I think many people think that her changes are more in line with Alistair.  I was more concerned with getting appropriate responses following the script notes, fixing scripts, etc.  The most radical changes I did were taking out all references to him being king if he wasn't king -- this was a serious issue especially for male warden who were becoming king themselves.  For the most part, though, I left the dialog untouched, only allowing stuff that should be firing to fire.  And of course, Charsen is adding city gates kisses, but even those are in the script notes.

There are a lot of good changes and, as it has as main focus Alistair, I'd say it's worth having. (I never knew there was a good bye kiss at Denerim gates for example).

Personally, I'd rather a mod that fixes and makes things go as they are scripted, rather than rearranged and edited to make it more romantic.

But I'd rather the more romantic fix than none at all. Not a big fan of literal fusion kisses, lmfao.

I use ejoslin's mod over the ADP because I don't like the changes. Also, many of the fixes that ejoslin has done are not in ADP. The only thing I miss is the kiss scene at the gates and the broken kiss scene. But I am willing to wait because I don't like actually changing the dialogue.

The only changes I don't like in the ADP were the moving of the companion gossip conversation until far later than originally, and the jealosy threshold. Other than that, It's been great for me. As someone who seldom makes Alistair king, it was a godsend. As well as getting to make kissyface at the final battle.

LMAO the Alistair patch removes that line? First time I played (on the PS3) I got ninja loved by Leliana and about turned purple when he said that line. Aaah, nothing like your first playthrough...

Every time I played after (moved to PC and installed that patch) I made sure to not start anything.

Yeah, especially when she pulls the ninja luv on you, lol. But Alistair's companion convo gossip is more suited to earlier in the game, when he barely knows anyone and isn't quite sure what to make of anyone. It seems out of place after finishing all 4 quests, because by then, he has already got to know everyone, and has formed various relationships with them.

Yes! I don't think it removes "What about Zevran? I don't like the idea of leading him on" (which is also awesome because of the LOL "You're not leading him on" response) so I'm not sure why Leliana's got axed.

The only upside to pushing it back is that it's sure to trigger after you've gotten all the companions. Of course, I just really like talking about Oghren.
