Heh, because a supreme god-like creature that would care about his creations is far more likely.

You've never used a longbow on him? He's spec'ed to DW, so it works out quite well with his high dex. But of course I can't control what weapon set he uses when he gets to the gates. I had to go back to Redcliffe village a couple times to get him into different armor and to remove Morrigan's staff that was casting blue light on them and making them look like ghouls.Sandtigress wrote...
The bow on Alistair is weirding me out. >.> Sad kiss at the end there! But you know what, I think I won't be using that mod when I reward myself with the PC copy...they're lovely, but it's immersion breaking for me when there's space between them while they're supposed to be kissing. I much prefer the rear views where you can't see their faces, I think.
As for the space between their faces, I take that to be that they kiss briefly and then nuzzle, wanting to see each other's faces.

I have to agree with you. Not knocking Charsen because he is awesome for doing this and I sure as hell couldn't do better. I prefer the illusion.

This NOT a silly attempt by a European to bash USA, as there are so many admirable things about the U.S. but personally I think that the way schools in many places in USA no longer teach evolution as the only theory with a scientific backing is deplorable.

Then again I went to a very liberal school where someone actually cried during a faux debate where they were forced to argue for "intelligent" design.

This is what I'd pick for my Alistair/Mahariel pairing - already done in the theme song thread if you clicked on my most recent contribution to that.
lol Merrisell...our songs have the same names, even if they're by different people.... Maybe our Mahariels think alike! I think the lead singer of Within Temptation has a really pretty voice, unfortunately, they're just not my usual type of music that I want to listen to. When I'm in the mood though, I love them.

I think the "no goodbyes" one is my favorite. On the sad kiss, the look in Alistair's eyes during the kiss just kills me.
Ugh, that always gets me when you go off to die and leave him behind.

The problem is that modern science has become so political that it has overstepped itself. If people remembered that it was all based on natural philosophy, there wouldn't be these silly debates. Well, there would still be debates because that is the nature of intellectual inquiry, but they wouldn't be so fruitless. As it is, the "science only" crowd postures and the "intelligent design" crowd reacts and no one gets anywhere because they're trying to win stupid legal battles for control of institutions.yukidama wrote...

I'm biased because history of science is one of my hobby interests, though. I like all the metaphysical stuff in between the hard science. These work profitably together or else we wouldn't have made the advances we have.

It's not as bad as you think. The fight against letting ID into schools officially has been fought pretty hard, and successfully. The problem is that there are huge areas of the country *coughthesouthcough* where that's just the way things have been for years. It is deeply ingrained and it's going to take a very long time to get rid of it. *keeps fighting the good fight*
And, I'm sure there are perfectly lovely and intelligent people in the south, but sweet tap-dancing christ, I never want to live there.

Well like I said, when you see their faces I don't think they're meant to be kissing but to be nuzzling close. And I'd rather see the emotion in my PC's and Alistair's face. I was so shocked when I first saw one of Charsen's kisses (the Zevran one) because I had never seen actual emotion in my PC's faces.yukidama wrote...

That's pretty much it. It's up to everybody to decide for themselves what they believe, but I personally feel that the day government allows parents to control what their kids learn in school, that is a very sad day. School should be a place where kids learn science, not have their mind closed by narrow dogmas. But I guess I'm derailing the thread. Please go back to posting all those snapshots of hunky al instead.

I actually agree with you, especially after reading about the history of psychiatry and medicine I see things a bit differently than I used to. I just don't agree with the intelligent design idea, nor believe it should be taught in a science class. In my high school we were taught about both but while both were addressed in our philosophy and literature classes, only one was addressed in the science classrooms. I just want more than "a banana fits perfectly in our hands and is able to be peeled, that is evidence of intelligent design."

Hi Merilsell, thanks. It took a lot of fiddling to get them how I wanted. Grrr that you can't control your followers once you get into Redcliffe castle, to do armor and weapon changes. It meant I had to fight that stupid ogre alpha about five times. But I just love that there's something more than just Alistair walking off at the gates. That always felt odd.Merilsell wrote...

Oh I agree, the ID people are as caught up in modernism as the rationalists. They're both fighting over the same patch of ground without realizing the playing field is larger and more important. And both have become so political that their integrity has gone out the window. That hurts everyone.yukidama wrote...
