But beyond that, as Duncan left us at the fire...it has got to be scary for a mage, having just been freed from the circle (In Caislyn's case as reward for catching Lily), having the leader of the wardens die. I mean, now you're only proof that you're not an apostate is an ex templar that you don't know at all.

Well, you have the treaties as proof of you being a GW and everyone at the Circle knows who you are. If they had to, the Templars there could vouch for you.
