Well, just out of curiosity then, how does the elf/mage ruler react when the Landsmeet basically tells her "no" at every turn because they have no interest in giving up their advantageous position for the sake of 2nd grade pseudo-citizens, and don't like the idea of mages suddenly being allowed to run around unchecked?

Apparently he kills everyone until he gets his way.

That wasn´t my intention.
Though it would be the most realistical approach, I´ll give you that:crying:. After all it´s what most rulers do, in Fantasy and in Real Life alike.

That's what you've said in other threads. And that wouldn't work if no one would accept them. I mean, do you really think you can singlehandly kill everyone who has a problem with that (which is everyone)? You don't have an army, not all of your followers would go along with you, and the nobles do all have an army. You cannot stand up by yourself against the entire military might of Ferelden. And no, the mages/Templars, Dalish/werewolves, and dwarves wouldn't follow you in your petty power struggle as they only signed up to stop the Blight.

That would be very sad. However, such a behaviour would prove the NOBLE´s inability to rule and just increase my conviction that an elf or mage is the better ruler.

The nobles would prove themselves unable to rule by not letting your PC that just happens to be good at killing things rule supreme? I don't see it.

On a sidenote, in Awakening you are Arl of Amaranthine even when playing a (Blood) Mage, and the epilogue said you were the best ruler Amaranthine ever had.

The fact that my Orlaisian Elf Warden Mage (that´s 4 things people don´t like as rulers) was well-liked and a good ruler makes opposition to non-noble kings / queens a bit ridiculous imo.

Hmm i checked my screenshots but it looks didn't get a slide like that. Maybe if only happens if you pick certain decisions, or something? Would be pretty cool if it was the case. (much better than the usual player's ego stroking no matter what they do, at least)

Could be an Orlesian thing?  My Orlesian human male was incredibly well-received, even after he let Amaranthine burn.  :P  But he apparently had a sharp political mind and was much hated because no one could read him, and ruled the region well as Arl.

I do not wish to discuss this dead end again, but I´ll still answer ONCE (and not more):

Fun fact: Loghain won the battle of River Dane with about 1000 men. my PC killed more than 1000 things in he game.
I´m not sure if I really couldn´t beat an armyB)

Also remember: The PC can have the crows to remove enemy leaders.
And of course not everyone would fight you - why would they? The nobles who allied with Orlais during the occupation and the likes of Howe show that there are enough nobles who would support a tyrant if you promise them land and wealth.

Not to mention that you are a sodding hero. Lots of people would rather have the guy who ended the blight rule than a noble who fought in pointless civil wars.

Yea I think it only comes for some choices. I don´t remember all choices anymore, though.

What I remember and might have significance:
I defended the City and built the Keep up enough to hold out on its own, I spared the soldier who then founds an order of knights, I defeated the smugglers, and I let the rioters have their food (this one, however, turned out not so well:crying:).

Do you fight all 1000 at once? What if there is an army of only 1000 who comes after you, alone? You die.

You have to pay the Crows and if the nobles can afford more (and we do know that they do use them) then even if they won't try to kill you instead they won't kill the nobles.

These nobles were not ones who welcomed their new Orlesian overlords when they decided 'you know what? Let's go invade Ferelden.' They just sucked it up once the Orlesians won. Why would they welcome you when you decided 'you know what? I want to be a Mary-Sue and rule Ferelden on the strength of my awesomeness'?

And you are not a hero until you end the Blight. Once the Blight is over there is already a ruler and you can't just kill them and take over. Besides, Loghain's hero status didn't help him any and, as Teyrn for years, he had more experience ruling that you do. He also tried to solves his problems by killing all his enemies and the nobles reacted with a 'yeah, you suck. We don't want you ruling us.'

So you becoming a tyant that uses blood magic to force their way onto the throne even thoug there is a perfectly good Queen/King ready to rule who will listen to your advice and let you have a say as chancellor because you're trying to be selfless? Posted Image

Can someone explain to me what the hell this is supposed to be?  I had a Noble Clothing in my inventory, so decided to try it on Leliana to see what it looked like.  Now she's a big yellow banana with  "Do Not Use" written on her dress.

There's some kind of joke in there, I'm sure.

Did you get that off Majolaine?  I've heard of it dropping as a noble dress before.  it's a bug.

Haven't met Marjolaine.  We just finished Redcliffe, so I must have picked it up there somewhere but I have no idea where.

I believe that's the outfit that gets dropped by the Zombie Chamberlain in Redcliffe Castle. I know that one has no female mesh.

Blood magic is only a way to fix an injustice in the Fereldan law system.

To be honest, though, i think the REAL reason why you can´t be king, and even HN can only be prince-consort is that a PC king would have made it impossible to have speeches at the ceremony and everywhere.

I suspect quite a few players would dress Leliana permanently in that now, as a reminder for Alistair, of sorts...

On the other hand, look at Andraste. What SHE did essentially came down to killing everyone who disagreed, too, and she is regarded a prophet and the most important human that ever lived and worshipped even a millenium after her death.

Not sure what your question was a couple of days ago but if your asking which is worse well I'd have to say Anora lol.
Um considering  the fact that Anora's screeching speech is longer than Isode's "Who iz dis wumon teeegon?" lol.  You only have to hear it for a brief second to Anora's minute long or however long speech

No, it's because they're trying to be realistic. Do you understand anything about politics beyond killing your opponents? You can't win if you have no support. You have no support. That's really politics at its most basic. Eamons and his side won't support you as they don't even want a new-blood noble on the throne so why would they want a non-human and a mage at that?

You could make a speech to the men on Dantooine in KotOR 2 without needing a voice. It was even three or four lengthy dialogue choices long.

And brilliant. Using mind control and sapping will to prevent injustice. The irony is truly something here.

And you're falling into the Loghain trap of thinking you're the only one who can fix things even when you are not even remotely qualified. You do not have to be the monarch to fix problems. You have the monarchs ear.

I would like to point out that Andraste didn't decide to make herself Queen, either. And you're saying that the reason that the nobles who are rebelling didn't like Loghain was because he failed to put down their rebellion? So they were just hazing him and he failed miserably?

Speaking of Andraste, wasn't SHE the one that coined "Magic should be used to serve man, not rule over him" in the first place? So if one was trying to go the Andraste route, it would be a bit hypocritical to use magic that way...

It's "Spellweaver" but the Toolset is stupid and doesn't allow to search by item's tag. You need to search for "gen_im_wep_mel_lsw_arw" (i'm not making this up)

It's easier to just open the "_Global" folder, then "Weapons, Melee" then "Longswords" and then finally "Unique" and it's there. Posted Image

edit: epilogue Alistair, free like a bird from all responsibilities. Including ones he's not aware of...
