Andraste did say that magic exists to serve man not to rule over them. If you do not even believe she says no to blood magic, what do you feel she means by this?

Caring for the people, helping them wherever possible, fighting for freedom and against evil, that sort of thing. And as it happens, magic could be quite efficient at doing such stuff.

It may not be fair, but life isn't fair and Ferelden sure as hell isn't or did you miss the part where the CE gets executed if not recruited for attempting to defend themselves and others from getting raped?

As said, fighting such injustices is exactly why I wish you could be ruler. If Ferelden would already be perfect there would be little point in ruling, wouldn´t it? After all, your Warden has to sacrifice his freedom and power to rule the land.

This begs the question, why would you even be IN the Alistair gush thread?

Well that didn't stop me now did it? Posted Image

You have the power of TIM

Indeed. In addition to the fact that you all love me and can't imagine how this thread would be like without my contributions Posted Image

It's ok, I admit. I love you all too Posted Image
(I am mostly joking to cheer up in my momentary study break).

That didn't answer my question. What does Andraste forbid if it's not freaking mind control for your own personal gain?

You're not the ruler. Even could you marry the ruler, you are still his consort. That's a nice way of saying 'you need to get pregnant now' which you can't so you kind of fail at being a consort. Just like the prince-consort is a nice way of saying 'you need to get the Queen pregnant now.' You do not have more power as princess-consort then you do as chancellor and, as far as official powers go, you have less.

And you can't fix the injustice of everybody hating elves so much that no one cares if they all get round up and raped by becoming Queen. A society that allows that just isn't ready for an elf Queen. A society that is okay with killing children because they are mages or killing anyone who leaves the Circle is not ready for a mage Queen. You have to take things slowly if you want change to really come.

He would ask for tips before remembering that Duncan is no more, which will cause him to cry in your bossom, which is probably what you want.

Jealous...of the Human Noble Warden.

He'd probably be amused, actually, and a little embarrassed.

Exactly that. But I´m talking about using blood magic for others, not for personal gain.

You have to take things slowly if you want change to really come.

Did Andraste take things slow when she broke the blood mages´ tyranny? Did maric take things slow when he freed Ferelden from the Orlais?
Change comes by action, not by taking things slowly.

Reminds me of V for Vendetta.
Too bad the game didn't allow you to start your own revolution, but what can you do.

I hear that Fable III is all about overthrowing a government and installing your own and choosing how to govern. Although the Fable series is not known for its seriousness, the idea is definately interesting.

Exactly that. But I´m talking about using blood magic for others, not for personal gain.

Becoming Queen when you have yet to explain why becoming chancellor would not work is personal gain.

You have to take things slowly if you want change to really come.

Change comes by action, not by taking things slowly.

Andraste was trying to topple an empire not better the lives of the disenfranchised. If you have a leader you need to topple (like the Orlesian leader during the rebellion or Loghain in game) feel free to violence. You cannot force people to accept making things better for mages and elves and if you're not personally overseeing something then feel free to change the laws drastically but don't expect things to actually change.

Nope. My Cousland girl married Alistair, to be his wife, not to rule anything. In fact, when asked what she'd be doing next, she went back to the wardens. Now, if you were agruing for the ability to marry your love and not rule, in exchange that would be fine. In fact I'd possibly even agree. But it sounds more like you romanced the guy to get power. Which, isn't really what this thread is about.
