Granted, Amaranthine looks quite nice.

And they have a very poor cuisine as well. No university or any form of higher education. Poor trade.
Yea Eamon's argument doesn't appeal to me.

Well, taking the weather into consideration the trade routes are probably nearly unuseable during the winter months.  Ferelden is surrounded by either ocean or mounatins.  Even just to trade w/ Orlais the trades have to pass through the mountains and past the dwarven areas to reach Red Cliff.

Fereldens seem to favor practicality over finery.  Duncan notices this when he first arrives w/ Genevieve to Denerim.  Also in the conversation about shoes w/ Leliana.  If it's -20 out the last thing people are thinking about is beads on their boots.

I can verify that, living in Fairbanks, Alaska for four years introduces you to a whole new idea of fashion.

Not me, I oly mod Zev and Leliana. And as much as I adore TMP's Leliana, she's stuck in camp this time cuz I don't want to share hair...lol

THAT is why I need a Morrigan morph, I don't want to leave her at camp. She has to have different hair.

Can't you just edit tmp's morph to switch her hair out?

Strategic thinking, not leadership, and certainly not charisma.

Yes, because personally leading men into battle against superior numbers and inspiring them to victory is not a testemony of leadership at all.
Sure.

Advice, read the part just before the battle of the River Dane.

That is a very dangerous question to ask, especially with Knight here. Posted Image

He should be happy! I am a Morrigan fan now.

The Dragon Age Redefined Morrigan based off of the model that Morrigan was based off of is pretty nice.

The Anderfels are in a similar predicament if not worse. And no one seemed to mention them being uncivilised. Indeed, the Anderfels is a major power. Only Ferelden seems to be the backwater of Thedas.

That's until Anora and Arcturus Cousland ushering in the Golden Age, of course.

Ferelden is more isolated than the Anderfels, and I'd imagine that plays a part.  Ferelden culture is also heavily descended from true barbarians: Chasind, Avvar, etc....  Fereldans also take pride in their 'barbarism' to an extent.  It was the 'barbarian' Andraste and her followers who broke the Imperium.  It was the 'barbarians' who drove out Orlais.  If 'civilized' is what the Orlesians were, I can see why they reject it.

And people use barbarism to describe what they see an inferior culture.  It does ignore the fairly politically advanced  government and equality between the sexes.  Granted, there are still race issues....

One can't take that argument that far. Development is intrinsically (though not perfectly) linked with being civilised.

No matter how much you disagree with Roman culture and traditions, I would find it very hard to argue that the Roman Empire was uncivilised, compared to Germanic tribes who also had some very primitive and rudamentary forms of democracy.

Likewise, no matter how much you might disagree with the Qun, I would find it very hard to argue that the Qunari are uncivilised.

I think it should be kept in mind the potential for development is also linked to structure. A society with a strong source of (full) authority will find it much easier to organize things like country-wide system of roads, large temples and other buildings created by work and funds of dozens of thousands and whatnot. Meantime a society fractured into more independent, smaller groups won't be as capable of such feats. This ability or lack thereof can affect how we view them, and in some situations actually skew the opinions rather than help.

"The Anderfels are a land of shocking extremes. It is the most desolate place in all the world, for two Blights have left great expanses of the steppes so completely devoid of life that corpses cannot even decay there--no insect or grub will ever reach them.

It is a land filled with wonders like the Merdaine, with its gigantic white statue of Our Lady carved into its face, her hands outstretched and bearing an eternal flame, or Weisshaupt Fortress, with its walls of living rock towering
over the desolate plains below.

The Anders, too, are a people of extremes: The most devout priests and the most deadly soldiers, the poorest nation in the world and the most feared."

I think it's more a situation like Antiva where no other countries invade out of fear.  The country its self though has little infulence.  The Anderfels probably even less so than Antiva.

I have a good Leli hair, but apparently she is really attached to the style you gave her, I replaced it in the parts name part of the .mor file but it didn't change.

I missed that codex it seems. Yes it confirms that the Anderfels is very poor. So Ferelden might not be the worst country in Thedas, even if largely unimpressive except for its fiercely independent nature.
Thanks for the codex quote!

It is a cultural prejudice.  Such statements are made in the same manner that French people dis the English and the English dis everyone else.  Because Fereldan culture is built on a more meritocratric, decentralized system than the Empire and people are less pretentious than elsewhere, the ignorant, the snooty, and intersections of the same are always going to look down on the place.  It's something to be proud of.  Hick pride rules.  :wizard:

Oh weird. that project has .mrh file as optional download too, maybe using it to swap the hair in the Toolset and exporting the result would help? Or if you didn't see the change then there may be another copy of the .mor file somewhere in your override folder, and the game is loading that one instead of the changed one...

Second file has every morph you could want. They're read only, but easily changed by unticking the read-only box like any regular protected file.

Yes this is true.
In fact, I think Loghain says something like that to Leliana.

Still, compared to others, Ferelden remains mostly a backwater. But I do believe it has very high potential, as its institutions, though rudementary, can be expanded upon to support an emerging middle class and a more capitalist system, which historically has been a primary factor in development. That's of course if Anora is Queen, as she focuses on the middle classes through her trade oriented policies and her emphasis on education.
