I prefer in-game Alistair, he looks better but I wouldn't mind having that armor, that's sweet lol

And another "brothers in arms" concept photo...Alistair getting the deathblow on an Ogre.

These scenes are from the fan made Mod, Returne to Korcari Wilds which is actually very fun. It has a couple quests and lots of darkspawn to kill and some new items (not too game breaking). The only downside is the grammar on the conversations (English is not their first language) but if you can overlook that its very well done.

You know, Sarel annoys me, even as a Dalish. Hey, those are my friends! You could at least be nice to them and trust that I know why I was sent with the Wardens.... <_<
It was interesting about the Dalish in Antiva being more violent. Also found it interesting that Paivel is said to be so old. Maybe he's recovering some of the immortality of the elves?
See, there's some really weird stuff said in the Dalish origin about how old Ilen is - he says that his father fought the Clayne barbarians and makes it sound like it happened shortly after the fall of the Dales...700 years ago. I'm really confused about the lifespan of the Dalish.

Hmm...I will have to consult my notes, don't think I"ve gotten that far in them yet.
Wikia says:
Abelas (ah-BELL-aws): Sorrow. Also used as an apology.

I actually got the opposite impression - Ashalle says that your father was keeper for many years before Marethari, so I always assumed he was one of the older elves, and your mother perhaps much younger because the elders of her clan disapproved.

I don't think it's mine. It's a light leather variant of type a though. Perhaps the Duster set from Orzammar?

Nah duster is type c if i'm not mistaken, and has these lines which enhance the waist line. Shadow of Empire is the only type a that i really saw in game (aside from regular leather which doesn't seem to show up anywhere later) so that's what i thought it was...Serissia wrote...

Perhaps they're all abominations? I would not actually be surprised at this. They seem both very nervous and yet accepting of Flemeth, though they call her the Woman of Many Years which would indicate she has lived longer than any elf. I'm actually cooking up a story about this, though it would be more risky in terms of the lore. I really think the Dalish orign and Nature of the Beast are less about the story in Origins and more about giving us foreshadowing of things to come- revelations about just what caused the darkspawn and the real story behind the Tevinters.Sandtigress wrote...

Oh, interesting. I guess I was assuming that elves marry young- a Tolkien prejudice, prolly. So that if he had a young baby he would probably be young himself.Sandtigress wrote...

Thank you! And to Sandtigress as well. As for your vast knowledge of fictional folk, I know more Sindarin than I do Russian and I studied Russian in college for a few years. What does that tell you? LOLMerilsell wrote...

And again I love you for this video. Will be great to look those things up, when I reach this point with my FF.
Isn't that word "Abelas"? It literally means "Sorrow" but Dalish elves also uses that to express that they are sorry, or are sorrowed.
Edit: Having watched the video again, I can say for sure that it is "Ir abelas" (very sorry)..but abelas works also alone as an apology![]()
Does my vast knowledge about a fictional folk makes me a freak? Lol, long live the FF-research.
I will continue to video little interesting bits, if you find it helpful. It gives me something to do and does make me pay attention more closely to conversations, looking for Dalish story elements. We're given relatively little, so you have to seize the tasty bits where you find them.

Oh, that's promising for the story I'm writing in my head. LOL Uh, what I mean is that I wonder if more than just Zathrian took advantage of local spirits to extend their lifespan and power. I'm out on a limb in terms of the lore, but the elves seem to have a more familiar way with spirits and they might have seen this as a necessary thing in order to preserve the glories of Arlathan.Serissia wrote...

As for the Tevinters and the like, we are given several hints in the Dalish origin and Nature of the Beast that the elves and Tevinters were cooperating. I have a theory that the elves were involved in the creation of the darkspawn. For instance, the arcane warrior shows you visions of humans and elves both fleeing from some great evil. Seems to me the cooperation between them might have unleashed some bad juju.
I could be way off.

Maybe it's just the lighting? The character seems to have the 'sun' behind their back in that shot, so it'd make the armour look darker than it really is.Serissia wrote...

The other shot makes it look like regular tier 7 i think... though that could be different armour, of course:
