It's worth it, especially if you haven't seen the Fade cutscene he made.

Yeah but it's to girlie for me. Sorry don't hit me!
I keep waiting to see shots of these super-sexy shield decaps! I'm perfectly willing to enjoy S&S vicariously so long as I don't have to watch or play it in-game.
I'm gonna keep an eye out as I replay my S&S HNF. So far, nothing yet. Which irks me to no end, you have no idea.
ive never seen a shield decap in all my games...just a sort of finishing move where they shield bash, blood sprays and the opponent drops

The main virtue to my mind is to be able to wear armor, especially since the mage robes are so limited and tend to be so hideous. You do have a trade off with not having magic stat boosts. But there is little enough of that in vanilla game, too, so by mid-game it doesn't really matter. You can pump everything into magic and kill pretty handily anyway.Mel_Redux wrote...
I tried AW, and honestly, I didn't get it. The time it took from activating my spells, to grabbing my sword, then sheathing my sword to activate another spell....it grew bothersome. Plus, staffs boost spellpower and magic, no? So the whole AW concept is lost on me.

I take it you use the mod that gives you Awakening skills in Origins? Or do you have something else going on?
Yeah, I use Awakening in OC. I just turn it off then respec and save before import my character into Awakening.

What happens if you don't do that, out of curiosity.

IDK I can't even play a male pc and dual wield. Then again I won't play a male rogue or a mage either. So I am just weird that way.tmp7704 wrote...

(Alistair is on the right side off-screen, pummeling the other ogre with his shield)

So for ritual dismemberments, I dismembered the Dalish here, but I didn't catch any good screenshots. My character's face made me laugh so hard here.

Some people use AWs as tank, but since I don't use tanks, that concept is lost on me. Bottom line, the mage specializations are such that only one of them really matters anyway and the other is a throwaway. Unless perhaps you play SH/BM. But that is a bit iffy from a RP perspective.
They weren't around. I didn't feel as bad about it once I went through with it though. I couldn't RP an elf doing it however.sylvanaerie wrote...

I've never been able to do this. I could cheerfully feed Sarel (the ******) and Zathrien to them but I like Athras and Varathorn and the Halla lady. Also what happens to the children in this scene?
If you do this though you become insanely overpowered, IDK about others but it makes the game no fun for me.Lady Jess wrote...

There is a mod that lets you cast with weapons drawn, and let me tell you, I finally get it. It's hella fun. stab/stab/mana clash the mash/stab stab/fireball/stab stab/hand of winter....shatter!
Yep, it's the idea of the children and young people that is especially horrific to me here. This seems the most senselessly evil thing in the game. Besides the fact that you are killing off one of your treaty groups for the sake of a shady alliance with a few werewolves, you potentially provoke retaliation by or at least rifts with other Dalish clans if a survivor were to get away.sylvanaerie wrote...

I thought it was evil until I did it. I planned to reload but this is one of the rare instances where the dialogue options were good. I was able to RP it. It would totally depend on my character. Remember the GW are charged with the blight and will do whatever is necessary. The werewolves kicked serious butt at the final battle.Addai67 wrote...
