I don't mind not playing my Warden in the sequel... BW just better give us some damn conclusion to the story or I will start throwing murderknives at the back of their heads.

If what Gaider posted in the Morrigan thread is any indication... don't hold your breath :/

What did he post?  And really?  Not even like two sentences?  So and so and so and so lived happily ever after until they/she/he went to their Calling.  M!PC never found Morrigan or his baby, etc...

Just generalities about how you'll really like the new stuff, too, and no one was really expecting a picket fence with Morrigan were they, but he can't really talk about it etc. etc.  Nothing, basically.  You can interpret it any way you'd like.

Found!
edit: damn ninja'd!

Ah.  It would be nice if they threw in a little bit on conclusion.  We'll see.

Hey!  Maybe that's why Duncan turns you down.  He wants you in tip top form to see your dad off and take over the castle.

I always figured he said no because Bryce is right there.  I love asking him about testing me and Bryce is like you know I'm standing right here?

The thought of F!Cousland ninja-sexing Duncan is hilarious to me.  XD

The origin would of been 100x better if I could of sexed up Duncan.  Duncan opens the door and arrow flys by his head.  When they get to Eleanor she's like Grey Warden??? They play it all cool like they just met up.  Ooooh yeah.

i dunno,  I think the story plays better with no nuki with Duncan,,,  I like to think that on the way to Ostagar he helps the FN with her grief..  (the MN too)

Eh, just adventuring together.  I like my current Warden and I like Alistair.  I don't really see the need for a new Warden to essentially do the same thing.  I highly doubt the combat is going to that new or innovative.  There's only some much that can be done w/ an rpg and the core of it comes down to dialogue and emotional attachment to characters.

Well LadyD's warden has twins!  If they continued the Alistair storyline they'd probably get retconned! :o

That'd be like... a super late term abortion.

I've lowered my expectations personally and just hope we get a Morrigan DLC or something.

Who said anything about including his future wife in a game? I just think that, as King, he will get married to a suitable noblewoman at some point within the next few years and you can't say you won't have seen it coming as he warned you when he tried to break up with you that he was eventually going to get married. And not to you.

And this isn't about whether it is demeaning to be a mistress or not, this is about whether you can realistically expect someone as concerned with heirs as Alistair to never get married and attempt to have one even though that is one of the main duties hereditary rulers have.

The thing is, he's NOT. In that same conversation, as a cousland you can tell him flat out that the heir is NOT required. and he is relieved (says so in the toolset), and agrees. No reason to think he wouldn't learn that without a cousland and hardened. So the whole heir thing is a moot point.

Hardened Alistair is more confident and willing to be happy Alistair. He doesn't want to have to cheat on you and tries to end it because of this. It does not make him 'stupid reckless Alistair willing to court a civil war over succession when he dies because he is so very much in love that he won't try to do his duty and provide an heir.' He does not know if he can have a child at all (without the ritual) but he's going to try, even with his HN Queen that won't ever succeed without magic. He doesn't decide it is not important in that conversation. He decides that since he's marrying her anyway not having an heir can be done. But it is a very, very bad idea and Alistair will have years of everyone pressuring him to do his duty and have an heir. Love can't always be enough and it is no excuse not to do his damndest to try to ensure the line of succession.

Edit: As for the Landsmeet meaning it's not hereditatry...what do you call the last 400 years of unbroken Theirin rule? They just basically confirm the next Theirin King. It's like Congress approving of a Supreme Court Justice.

And kings don't get to stay single just to avoid hurting the feelings of their mistress who should have known damn well what they were getting themselves into.

lol, I know my actual game character won't have kids with Alistair and that's fine.  XD  Fanfic is there to indulge my fantasies.  I'd seriously be happy with like a codex or a voice over that addressed what happened to the Warden that ended the 5th Blight.  "Ruled with Alistair til they went to the Deep Roads, Adventured with Alistair/Zevran/Leliana, etc...'

I think it's fairly wrapped up...  however, If the story goes to Fereldon there should be some kind of tie in..   If it goes to Orlay (damn spelling)Posted Image it should have some tie in to Morrigan and the Empress..  just my thoughts.

Or...he could cease to exist along with the warden, the queen and the nugs the minute you choose "exit game" for the last time on that character.

Well yes if you're looking at him as a video game character but if you're doing that then what the hell does it matter if Alistair dumps you, dies, you're mistress, he's King, anything? In Ferelden life goes on and you need to apply a certain degree of realism. How many real-life Kings never got married to avoid hurting their mistress' feelings and were just fine with not even trying to have children? And I say Kings not Queens because getting married as a ruling Queen often had too many risks for them to do it and was more about power than true love anyway.

That would be nice.  It's been confirmed that Morrigan will make another appearance, though we don't really know in what capacity... some people want her as a romance for the new warden...

Seriously.

That just seems weird to me.  I mean it'd be pretty much like stealing your own gf wouldn't it?  Bleh, E3 can't come soon enough.

I don't care, as I've said many times now...what happens, or doesn't happen in their future, will be dealt with when the time comes. I'm never going to tell someone asking about that ending  "You know even if he keeps you on the side he'll get married some day" because even though it's a game that I love, characters I love, in the end it's a game, that ends with the epilogue slide for that character. I have plenty of realism in my life already, I'm not going to force it into a fantasy RPG...lol

I think there are so many ways to RP the whole Alistair-romance-king-notking thing, and so many different personal philosophies that come into it, that no one will ever agree.

I will say that a mistress does not mean being supported by a man. And also, that historically many mistresses had no problem with the king having a wife/children, because they had a life of their own. A romance isn't the end all be all of life.

If we're trying to be realistic and taking into consideration the ending of Awakening, our PC is going to go off someplace anyway. So she won't be around to care if Alistair gets married.

That sounds like what a wise army wife friend told me when we first entered this life. "Prepare for the worst, hope for the best" There was also "hurry up and wait" which seems to work well in this instance.
